If you really think the in game messaging is the only advantage Live has over the PSN, you clearly have not been using Xbox Live. :|

Perhaps the fact that every game supports full voice chat, and the much better marketplace for starters...
PSN has its perks
XBL has its perks.
Stop comparing the two. You just going to get bias views if you do.

Exept PSN is free. I would rather have all the features XBL had a year ago. I don't want to pay money for something I already have. All I want to be able to do is communicate and play online. Thats it. PSN has it. And guess what? Its completely free.

Yeah, the voicechat on PSN is horrid. But then again, that is probably a blessing given some of the intellectual convos I hear on live..:?[QUOTE="MunkeySpunk69"]i agree, everything psn does. it does to try and get to the same level xbl is at. Rikusaki

Yeah, the voicechat is horrid. But then again, that is probably a blessing given some of the intellectual convos I hear on live..:?It's an option nonetheless. However, not everyone will have the same experience. I don't get many obnoxious morons on XBL while playing Halo 3 often. However, at my level, you get more people who want to win I suppose, and more arrogant "I'm the best" attitudes of other players.[QUOTE="The_Game21x"][QUOTE="LastRedMage"][QUOTE="The_Game21x"]its not just messaging you canbring up the cross media barIf you really think the in game messaging is the only advantage Live has over the PSN, you clearly have not been using Xbox Live. :|

Yeah, the voicechat on PSN is horrid. But then again, that is probably a blessing given some of the intellectual convos I hear on live..:?horrid? Every online game has voice chat. What's so horrid about that? Your mentality is downgrading something because it's not the better choice. Bad mentality.

When you get a online service that has some games with service rivaling Nintendo's support. (GH III no friends support, but Wii GH III does?) or a service with features of that like the Wii's... heck let's just say... online gaming experience wise, its' like playing on Wii for the most part. You don't have Voice chat for all games, some with issues, and you have some features that aren't fully executed properly. That's why PSN seems to remind me of, online play wise.[QUOTE="yoshi_64"][QUOTE="Rikusaki"][QUOTE="MunkeySpunk69"]i agree, everything psn does. it does to try and get to the same level xbl is at. In-game XMB won't resolve the problems, not to mention that XBL gets two updates a year. PS3's updates are never really something that come in big, but they do come often or at a nice pace. Still, there's no word on WHEN that will be. Sure, when it comes it will be nice, but at that time, XBL is still growing and adding new features. PSN still is trying to play catch-up after a year being out. One year, and still no in-game XMB. One year and no RSS feed features, not even like half the content of XBLM content, or XBLA, and games quality wise on the market/arcade. One year and still no Voice Chat support STANDARD in all online games. Need I go on?When you get a online service that has some games with service rivaling Nintendo's support. Name me one online game without voice chat on PSN? And if you can, how great of significance is it, when most PS3 games have voice chat online? I don't want to debate about something so small. I will ask you this. Do you even have a PS3?
That has nothing to do with it, but Halo 3 is one great game to play online with friends. Show me a PSN online game that's as featured rich as Halo 3 please. Saved films, file sharing, 4 player co-op campaign, online matches ranked and social, and a community as active and lively as that one? Frankly, IMO over the months I've played Halo 3 online, it's becoming the sole reason I even pay for this service at times. I was very adamant about XBL, but now I'm embracing it. Not to say XBL is just Halo only. DOA 4, R6, Forza, and a few other games I own are great to play online too and have a surplus of features to support online play.because PSN doesnt play halo 3 online :(

I'm not trying to justify my $50 spent on XBL. The excellent slew of online games I've been playing do that themselves.
I never said there's anything wrong with thePSN per se, just that it's not as good as Xbox Live based on my personal experience with the two services. And yes, I'm a bells and whistles kind of guy. I always go for the best when I buy things.

The features that are built in to the online game itself are usually good enough for me. And EVERY SINGLE online PS3 game that I own has voice chat.
Those games that I listed are the top online games for the PS3. And they all have voice chat. I would call that standard. And two more online games are coming to the PS3. Burnout Paradise and GT5 Prologue. GT5P will have 16 players with voice chat. I downloaded the Burnout Paradise demo form the PS Store and it lets you go online with voice chat. All the major online games for the PS3 have voice chat. Can you even tell me one online PS3 game that doesn't have voice chat? Just one? I bet you can't.

Currently, UT3 is having some "voice chat" problems if I'm correct. Maybe it does have the "option" listed in the manual, but it certainly isn't "there" by my terms. However, yes you have it, but then again... like I said...Also, does it make a significance? Hell yes. Short and simple, this day and age, it's a MUST for me. Forget about "The whiny pubescent kids!" and "I'm being questioned of my sexuality/beliefs/etc by some kid!"
That will come everywhere, but truth be spoken. It's nice to have a form of communicating that's quick and easy. You telling me we should go back to the days of text messaging in-game? I think not.. "McIekUb376 watch out for that ROCKET@!!!"... "Too late..." yeah, typing that would be fun. or "Behind you Mi9ke*3" "Go LEft!1" etc, etc. For games that require teamwork, or even some games that just thrive on communication and are fun. It's nice to have, plus I play lots of my games with my friends. So, I want to talk to them, not be typing to them.
Anyways, I as of now do no currently own one. Yes I am speaking mostly based on what I've had short time with, read from websites like IGN/Gamespot, and feedback from friends that own the system.

Wrong. UT3 on the PS3 has voice chat and it works perfectly. How do I know? I own the game myself.
