TBH, if your comfortable enough opening up your PC, you should have no problem working on the Wii. The parts a little harder to find and you need that special screwdriver, but if your warrenty is up its no big deal.

Sure the games look better on PC granted you have the proper hardware, but that doesnt change the fact the games were built with the consoles in mind and better optimized for them. You mention CoD4 but thats kinda funny since it looked better at release and plays better on the 360.

Anywhow you should be on the PC board, not System Wars

BBQSauceMan

This is System Wars, and PC is a System. Sounds to me like you need to go back and read the reviews for all of these Multiplats and see the PC versions were said to be superior. I have Fallout 3, GTA4 and CoD4 on both the 360 AND PC and PC spanks the crap out of the 360 versions.

EDIT: Oh yea, I also own Mass Effect on both the 360 and PC. Same deal, PC > 360 version. (All great games regardless of System)

I own a WII, DS, PS3 and a gaming PC.

One thing that stands out to me is the following; Now it doesn't apply to everyone because everyone doesn't work in IT like me and I understand computers are not as easy as consoles.

However, it took about 1 month for my WII's graphics chip to Fry and about 1 1/2 months for my Ps3 to start clanking like a garbage truck on a bumpy road (tonight actually).

Now with my PC if ANYTHING breaks I can most likely fix or replace it myself. This is not the case with consoles. Luckily I was within 90 days and target just gave me a new PS3. My Wii took a couple weeks to get back.

Still we PC gamers need to be thankful for the fact that when something goes bad its generally easy to replace ourselves.

DAZZER7

it may take a few months for your consoles to "fry" but don't forget that you PC owners still have to replace your day-old graphics cards/mo-bos/rigs every time its made obsolete by a new game so i guess that makes us equal. just different reasons for replacing our gaming machines of choice

Wait wait, you're really using that old argument? Despite the countless "you need to upgrade every 6 months" threads that have been proved wrong time and time again by hermits lol. Try reading a little lol.

My current rig was built 2 years ago, barely a month and a half after my 360. Its a Q6600, 8800GTS 320MB, ASUS P5N32-SLI with 2 GB Ram. It still just about maxes every game that comes out (at 720p) except for Crysis and Stalker CS. The games coming out this year, will run beautifully on it if not maxed. Over the next 2 years it will still run every game that comes out. I bet it will still run every game that comes out over the following 2 years after that!!

So please, stop with the having to upgrade nonsense we're sick to death of explaining is wrong!

look mate, you're probably right but in all honesty i couldn't care less what platform you prefer gaming on or whatever. its just that if you provoke people with threads like these then you should expect the "same old argument" I'm from a place where you're considered wealthy if you have a playstation 2 so for me its all about the games really. i couldn't care less if i was playing my games on a PC with "12372311323AGSFVVEE v1.33245525A ASUS cards with 13432532BGHGHA mega-flops" of processing power or whatever you just said....i just want to know that i'm going to put the game in the tray and it will work. YES i know PC has superior graphics, is upgradeable etc etc but its just not for everyone. I would have to constantly travel out of the country just to upgrade my PC to play games if i had to.

The consoles are a one piece system. If it breaks buy a new one. Like the PC being Upgradeable. It just depends how much you want to pay. $$$$LOXO7
Wrong, I replaced my PS3's lens myself. from yallstore

GTAIV, Fallout 3, Far Cry 2, Dead Space, Gears of War (1), etc. all are superior on PC.

In bizarro world. However The Orange Box and L4D are still better on the computer.

Simple fact is that these games i listed look far better on PC

Graphics are nice, but lets not be shallow gamer here, they play signifacantly worse.

as well as having more players in multiplayer in alot of aspects (GTAIV 32 player online, TF2 32 online on PC, etc.).

I would argue KB/Mouse but that's a matter of preference and i'm betting you prefer autoaim to KB/Mouse.

Consoles get the most demanded games? According to whom? Last i saw the most played game is World of Warcraft. Not to mention heavily hyped games like SC2, Empire Total War, Project Offset (PC exclusive), etc. By most demanded do you mean Madden games? Cause i'll give you that one. You have no gauge for any of your claims but the fact remains that most games that are multiplat look far superior on PC as well as having mod support, more players online, and better controls. You're wrong, to put it plainly.

Puckhog04

1. http://www.gamespot.com/features/6202552/index.html Those games look far superior on PC. Bizzaro world = Real world apparently because each looks and plays better on PC.

2. Play significantly worse? It's quite clear that you have played none of those games on PC. I mean, you're honestly going to argue that Fallout 3 plays worse on PC than the other platforms? Amazing, apparently your ignorance knows no bounds. Ask anyone who has played all 3 versions (i have) and they will tell you the PC version is far superior in every way.

All you've proven here is that you have played none of those games on PC. I could also mention Bioshock which is far superior on PC but of course, you haven't played that on PC i'm certain. CoD4 and CoDWaW are also far superior on PC for all the reasons i mentioned up there. I can go on and on. Alas, i won't, as it would be pointless trying to prove that all those games i listed are superior on PC because it simply is true. I think most on these forums would agree with me as do the reviews of the games. How about Mass Effect? AAA on PC and AA on 360. :)

Did BBQSauceMan delete all of his posts? To back you up though puckhog, I'm playing GTA4 at almost max in game and I'm getting about 35 fps average. It runs and looks much better than it's console counterparts, I know, I've played GTA4 for about 8 hours on the 360. Also, I'm playing F.E.A.R. 2 at 60 FPS at max graphics, same with Fallout 3 and Far Cry 2, and I'm even getting over 100 FPS with full graphics in Dead Space. Now that's some sweet stuff.

Yes, but PC's have other problems, like the months of going through settings in games, upgrading, waiting for the patches for game stopping problems, waiting for new drivers/patch combinations to see IF the game will eventually run on your combo, which may happen to present a slight incompatibility at some driver and is rather game over for you, even if your PC costed 10.000$ (after all usually new hardware has the most problems)

So, yes, if consoles break, it is game over too, but i would rather take my chances with such, than wastemultiple hours / day just to make a game run, and NEVER be satisfied with the visuals, unless you pay 2.000$+ for a machine to run the latest unoptimized games maxed (because nearly all PC only games are unoptimized and barely run maxed on even the best harwdare)

At least with console you know what you get

lol, you know in all the time i have had my latest gaming PC i have had problems like you say with just 2 games. Clear skies and a missing exe for WAR. Thats it, i don't know where you people get these horror stories about PC gaming. If it was that much hassle beleive me, i wouldn't do it, im lazy as hell, i hate messing with settings and drivers etc lol. Infact my PS3 has updated more in the time i have had it than what my PC has.

PC has so many advantages over consoles it's ridiculous. You'd be gimping the PC platform completely just by naming one. My $800 gaming PC is a monster (LOL at the $2000 remarks, ignorance at it's finest) has zero issues with any games. And, provided you know at least a little about a PC, you always know what you're getting. Of course if you know nothing then you don't...but then again tell those people that these consoles consist of mostly PC parts and they won't believe you so they're ignorant either way.

Funny, I own a PS2, PSP, Xbox 360, and an average PC :P

On Topic: It really depends if you're skilled in that area. Otherwise you'll have to pick up a copy of Fixing PC's for Dummies

Seriously it's not that hard, motherboards these days come with enough documentation to tell you how to do pretty much anything

It depends what level of tweeking you do, i've been messing about with the Oblivion settings lately through the ini file and you can literally spend hours finding the perfect set of specs, however the results are worth it and arn't available on console

Yes but the time you spent with the settings is not mandatory. Most games support a button for High, Medium, and low where you press that button to lower and increase settings. One button is very easy for those that don't know much.

being from a poor country i would also say that a lot of people from here mostly prefer PC gaming because its easier to pirate games. not poking fun/trolling but just shedding another angle on the discussion. every PC gamer i know only plays copied games. sometimes not because they want to but its because thats all thats available.
