Now all it needs is some amazing actual games to use them
I dont see any announced that i like so far, so that would be a 4-5 years wait for me as it seems, until it gets some amazing RPG
Are you sure having analog sticks is better for handheld gaming?
At what point does a game become to complex to be a real effective handheld game? The simplicity of modern smartphones and tablets forces game developers to keep their games simple and easy to control allowing them to be great mobile games.
The best mobile games are the ones you don't have to sit there and be immersed in but are ones you can play little bit throughout the day with the occasional gaming session.
The problem with the Vita is the fact that it's trying to be a portable console in a market dominated by smartphones and touchscreen devices which offer far better mobile gaming. Do you ever wonder why it's not selling really well in Japan?

The 3DS doesn't have any amazing RPGs either yet. The good RPG's it does have are found on other systems minus Beyond The Labyrinth which isn't out anywhere but Japan.[QUOTE="Second_Hokage"]

U NO LIK PERSONA?!? No original ones just like all but one for the 3DS RPG's so far. You can still find Persona 4 on the PS2 and it would be cheaper then the PS VIta version (Lacking the extra content though). That thing looks horrid and it's an add on. Alot of people aren't going to buy it so, it could potentially limit what some developers want to do just like the PSP. I mean not every developer is going to want to create two controls schemes. The Circle Pad Pro invalidates your point, TC.

Or Full Custom Soundtracks, Party System and Cross Game Chat. Seriously though the 3DS is a good system but yeah after the PSP, it's really puzzling that Nintendo didn't put them in.FlamesOfGreyPersonally I think there will be other online modes for the 3DS, but Nintendo is waiting till the Wii-U comes out to use them.

We'll see what Nintendo does. They are the worst in online gaming currently and I'm interested in seeing what they do to bring it up to current standards. I believe they're already getting rid of friend codes for thw Wii-U?

Agreed, they've already added quite a bit since launch, it's reasonable to assume that would continue given their stated intention of delving more into online stuff.

Thankfully yes

Then explain the PSP. Until the launch of the Vita, it was selling very well and console style games were successful for the platform.
Vita's problem isn't other mobile devices, so much as the fact that it's biggest launch title in Japan was Hot Shots Golf.
Developers may be able to develop games despite lack of analog, but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt. It either means the developer simply doesn't try to make games that really need the use of the analog, or they release them despite camera issues. Hence 3rd Birthday and FF Type-0 both needing dual analog.
How dare you... i hope no one sees what you did there.ANOTHER major reason it's better: it's not selling, so you won't have a problem finding one. :)

Um one can debate that easily analog sticks as in 2 doesn't inherently make something better its along the same line of argument that some hermits use that because its on pc it inherently has better gameplay when this is a completely debatable and subjective opinion gameplay will always be completely subjective.
When those analog sticks wear out, we'll start talking. The one thing I worry about Vita is since it doesn't have a clamshell design, how does one expect the analog sticks not to gather lint, and be ruined from moving around in your pocket when you walk or in your bags? Either way, dual analog would be nice, but it's not necessary, and so far I haven't seen it needed in any game I play. yoshi_64Basically, if you plan on taking it a lot of places you'll need a carrier case for the Vita.
I for one do not like the size of Vita for a handheld. I remember there being complaints by some about the 3DS not fitting in pockets very well. Imagine fiting somethign bigger that also has the 2 analog sticks sticking out of it.
I would be more interested if Sony was trying to make a handheld and not a smaller console with its own screen. I have my consoles for console gaming and my handheld for handheld gaming. Also...are people excited for the two touch screens on the back of Vita? I know they can have some cool uses but to me it seems more like sony saying "3DS has 1 touch screen...hahaha we have 3, TAKE THAT!"

You definitly didn't play MGS: PW or Monster Hunter (which makes 2nd analog on touch screen, not ot mention Metroid games do the same), lack of 2nd analog stick is what backfired PSP and will backfire 3DS (DS didn't able to pull 3d grafics good enoth to make such games) because most 3D games require camera turning or aiming, Nintendo suppriced me to reapet Sony mistake after they added better hardware in par of PSP or better that will make games that will require camera turning.
For fun fact Nintendo needed to come to Monster Hunter developers to understand at, they understood that and what we got now? extra attachment with 2nd stick on Monster Hunter relese! Dont be suppriced to see 2nd stick on 2nd edition of hardware
Throwing away 2nd analog stick to make limit developer to do smaller portable games is just stupid, 2 analog sticks can be used in many other ways (katamari for example?) and having move and camera controls doesn't mean the game is not good for portable
Statements like that just proofs how people can say stupid things just to bush something, 2nd analog stick is advancment over 3DS whtevery you like it or not, not to mention Nintendo seems to wake up and giving signs that they trying to catching up on that when they discovered that 3DS is in same hole where PSP was, which is shouder button analog stick function switching hell
The biggest negative would be if the Vita catered just to the audience of smartphone style games. There will most likely be smart phone type games come out on the Vita, but what will seperate if from smartphones are going to be the more complex games. Are you sure having analog sticks is better for handheld gaming?

It would sell even worse if all it did was play games that were similar to smart phones. Very few people would choose a Vita over a smartphone.
OH my! I ams teh buyin' Vita right MEOWs! Dual Analogs!!... like 2 of D'EM....
3DS is DOOM3D!
:P
Seriously though.... think I'll "stick" with my 3DS... it has the games I want, Vita doesnt.

FlamesOfGrey
Yeah I feel the same way. I don't buy a handheld to get the same types of games I play on 360,PS3, or PC.But most of the games I play on my 3DS have no need for dual analog sticks sir...
