Online Free to play games on PS4 will NOT require PS+

I have a gaming pc and if all else fails I know my pc will hold me down. I do like the exclusives on console and it would be a shame to miss the next gen. However I am not going to be told what I can and can't do with my console and games I paid for. If I want to unhook the mic/cam my console should not stop working. If I take it of the net my console should not stop working. If I buy a used game or use gamefly/red box I should be free to choose how I spend my money.

This is only for free to play, I want free online play on retail games dammit.

Drive Club isn't a free to play game. Plus members are getting a special edition of the game, it's probably just a limited demo version.

This is why tradining games is such a great thing to do ( if you have many games laying around of course ), a PS4 at launch can go to as low as $99 at launch by trading a number of games towards the new system, retailers will offer MASSIVE trading deals for new systems when they launch and this is only for new systems at launch so its a one time deal that happens everytime a new generation of systems launch.

Still sounds exactly what I just said. It's a dumbed down version of a retail game. You can pay $60 for the full game or pay for the features you want to unlock in the plus edition.

I don't really trade in games. I just sell them all with the console as a bundle.

But it's why I like that the PS4 lets me buy used games with no restrictions. Means I can use Amazon and Ebay for cheap games. I think there was like 2 PS3 games I bought for $20. The rest were <15. Buying everything used/discount can save you soooooooooooo much money in the long run.

It doesn't, I calculated it myself with an average of 75% discount adding the remainder of the games that I did not buy on a sale.

Ok this news is very big right there!!

Sony confirms in an interview with Joystiq.com that PS+ price will NOT change when moving to the PS4, PS+ will NOT be a requirment to watch videos or any video app on the PS4 ( examples like netflix, chrunchyroll, etc ), PS+ is not required to send messages and PS+ is NOT required to play the online free to play games BUT if a publisher wants their online free to play game to be a apart of PS+ then they are free to do so but all Sony online free to play games will NOT require PS+.

Does it really matter in the long run? How many people will play these "Free" to play games and not have PS+, if you are going to play PlanetSide 2 I am sure you'll have PS+ for Killzone and other online games.
