I've been an XBL subscriber since 2004 and I completely stopped playing games online about a year later. For Xbox at least. I don't know what it is about it, but I get bored way too fast. Played Gears of War online for a couple of times and I don't know, but it didn't appeal to me one bit. So why am I keeping the XBL Gold account?

Well for one thing, I'm keeping it just in case Halo 3 can bring me back into console online gaming, and also the fee doesn't bother me one bit. So why is it so boring? Why do I still play pc games online and always have fun? Could it be that pc games aren't as restricted or maybe the mods make it feel fresh? I don't know, but I get a much much better online experience on my pc than my 360. Console onlin gaming(360, PS3 or Wii) seems too dull, restricted and just a fraction of the experience you would get on a pc.  Anyone else feel this way?

Pick up a PC with Call of Duty, Starcraft, Day of Defeat and Counter Strike. There is some not-so boring entertainment.

Get Rainbow Six Vegas. Best console online since Halo 2. Definitely better than GeoW.

It seems like any kind of online competitive game attracts the worst humanity has to offer. I'm pretty much sick of the whole experience. I enjoy co-op with a friend and that's about it lately.

There need to be more games out there that play like Battlefield 2, but aren't so damn glitchy and buggy that two people who know each other can't enter a server without one of their computers blowing up.  Battlefield 2 was so good...and so bad...at the same time.

I liked the Xbox online, but Xbox 360 just does not have anything really worth while. I agree, it is a dull experience.

Umm.... what about bridge networking in Halo 2? Or modding? Please, you can easily hack some XBL games. Not only that, but th PC line up is much bigger than the XBox line up. And most games are free.

what difference does it make if the end result is the same...... and BTW no one makes a program, the majority of people do it through altering text files, which means punkbuster or a similar anti-cheat program, catches them as soon as they enter the server.

And how does the consumer make mods for a game? That would be because the source code is torn apart on the PC or released to the public for them to do that.

Its not the same thing cause you can't take a Xbox 360 game and put it on your PC and do likewise.

Huge Exaguration >> , oh and Consoles can be hacked, not just bugs/glitches HACKED , the great thing is your less likely to get a fix or perma bang because its more largescale.. You dont notice hackers on Battlefield / UT as much as say CS because even with cheats they can still be killed by good players easily enough, if you cheat to the degree that you always win on these games then your nopticed-reported-banned problem solved... And I would know I cheated on CS:S (Yea yea, got bored of the game, thought I would indulge in it, I was in no way a bad player).

well thats just it, Mods provide a constant supply of new content. Popular games like CS have 1000's of user maps. and not only that, mods often provide new weapons vehicals, even gameplay types, as well as Skins, sounds, textures and whatnot.

Console online is dull compared to PC multiplayer... I dunno why, I think the challenge isn't there. Neither is the team spirit, or it's the 13 year old 'gangsta's on XBL I dunno.

well, its obviously different with larger servers.... but with games that are smaller, especially those that have no respawns, you can see this quite often.

1) Bigger, more active community. 2) Dedicated servers (Read Cobraxs post above, this is a great aspect) 3) Mods ofcourse, they do help a ton, although some ruin the experiance at the same time. 4) Clan Communication 5) Feels more Personal all around, combined with the elements above ofcourse.

There's no way I could possibly show you a link because honestly I don't know how they do it. I don't think it's alternating the source code, but the end result is pretty much the same. You lose so some idiot can gain ranks. YAY! Fun for everyone. it doesn't matter if you can change the source code or not. BTW, it seems like you've never played Halo 2 online or didn't get to high enough level. Bridge networking is just the other team making you disconnect using a router, not exactly sure how they do it, but the end result is they disconnect your whole team and they get the win. Now tell me how that is not worse than stuff done on the PC?

[QUOTE="cobrax75"][QUOTE="Fruity_Fantasy"]With PC gaming I just can't wait till the source code gets pounded and the trainers and aimbots come out and everybody is cheating, it's great stuff!luigigreen

yeah, there certainly arent hackers with XBL..... /sarcasm

Those would be bugs and glitches and not somebody making programs to ruin the gaming experience - derrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Umm.... what about bridge networking in Halo 2? Or modding? Please, you can easily hack some XBL games. Not only that, but th PC line up is much bigger than the XBox line up. And most games are free.

Show me a link for hacking Xbox game's source code and not some silly glitch on yourtube for Halo 2.

There are certant errors that may dissconnect you from a router or a extremely large packet of information, but you can fix that by using a firewall within your router so they don't get your IP address.

Console online is dull compared to PC multiplayer... I dunno why, I think the challenge isn't there. Neither is the team spirit, or it's the 13 year old 'gangsta's on XBL I dunno.-Pale

Why you asking eveybody's age on XBL? Sounds creepy to me.

Yea, see, I'm not exactly sure how it works, but I'm using a modem, no router, so there's no way I can do that. Also, modding does change the source code, I think, considering that they change where you spawn, how fast weapons shoot, where weapons spawn, where you spawn, etc.
