I don't really know technically speaking, but I bet it's the same case as MotorStorm. (Devs said it can't handle splitscreen)

Well, I guess that's okay then.  I was under the impression they didn't include it intentionally, not because they couldn't do it.

Clearly all these hyped up "super-consoles", aka 360 and PS3, are pushing so much graphical/AI/etc. power into the game that they decide it's more cost-effective to make one screen look really really good and be unable to display four screens.  Since both systems are pretty much selling almost entirely on power they want to make sure their single-screen demos are as beefed up-looking as possible so expect the gimped or completely missing offline multiplayer to be a continuing trend for both of those consoles.
