if that's true ( at the source ), then killzone 2 has sold over 1.2 million copies in a little over a month :|
i remember hearing things like 'nearly every Ps3 owner will buy k2' i guess not.yoyo462001You can not expect everyone of fanboys' claims on SW to become true. Even if that didn't happen, KZ2's sales are very good, awesome if we consider is not a multiplat.
The Hip Hop Gamer should be banned from the internet. His site is garbage.carljohnson3456And he even replaced Ms. Page on your sig... That guy.... :x
6% sounds right because 6% of 21 million is 1,260,000.Really him? I dont believe that 6% crap.

That guy.... :x I know, right? I had to make a statement. People use him as a legit source of info on here, I had to make a sig to ruin his credibility preemptively, lol.

its however directed at those extreme fanboys like lolfaqs.yoyo462001Fair enough. The problem is, that people like him will simply find another lame argument, like today's "PS2 outsells the 360 in Japan". You can not expect to win against that kind of people.
Less than 10% of 360 owners bought Gears of War 2. Since the 360 is at 29.5 million units sold and Gears is a 4 million seller!
Instead of using a percentage that will be a small number to make things look really bad they should use the actual number in which KZ 2 is well over a million sold and on its way to 2 mil.

Actually, the 10% of 29 millions is 2,900,000, so yes, more than the 10% of the 360 userbase has Gears of War 2.This is nothing more than a way to attract hits to his website. It never ceases to amaze me how low his site will go for hits. Granted, this news isnt really "low"... just more less not newsworthy. Imagine, can you imagine Gamespot reporting something like this? How about IGN? How about reporting ridiculous rumors over and over again that prove to be wrong? HipHopGamer =/= a video game news site. It's what happens when regular Joes get their info from N4G and in this case... create news.carljohnson3456I told you once. The so called "new wave of Gaming Journalism" is, in most cases, no more than a common blog. Fresh news can be foung anywhere, re-written and change them to something like this. He probably got the numbers from VgChartz and then did his "news report".

omg why dont you guys believe it? 6% is right.
21m ps3s sold and 1.2m killzone 2 copies sold right? ok 1.2m divided by 21m is .057 and that is exactly about 6%.
so i believe it...

I don't remember ever hearing that for ANY GAME selling on ANY CONSOLE, in the history of games on this planet.
Haven't you heard about Wii Sports? This game isn't even out everywhere in the world. I also have a feeling it'll be the best selling FPS game ever in Japan(not that that's a hard feat to accomplish when you look at FPS's abysmal sales over there...) The point is.. the game's barely been out over a month and they've already sold at least 1.2 million copies at $60 a piece which equals out to what... around $70,000,000? I remember hearing that the game's budget was around $50-60 million so they've already made a profit, not to mention the fact that it's still selling and will continue to sell for quite a while as more people discover that it actually exists. Also the fact that it's not out everywhere in the world yet further proves that it's going to continue to sell for quite some time.Messiahbolical-
thats not how business works. the devs dont get to keep all of that $60... which by the way isnt $60 since they sell it at wholesale to the store in the first place

Yeah, instead of selling that amount in a day like Gears 2 and Halo 3 did in the U.S.if that's true ( at the source ), then killzone 2 has sold over 1.2 million copies in a little over a month :|

Sequels of 2 of the biggest IP's to ever hit consoles? Yeah shocking that is.
[QUOTE="finalfantasy94"]LOL!! Yeah, instead of selling that amount in a day like Gears 2 and Halo 3 did in the U.S.Like 23% XBox 360 owners bought Halo 3.

Doesn't matter. KZ2 was hyped to be better then Halo 3 and Gears 2, so that's what it was competing against. Took 4 weeks to to sell over a million worldwide. It could even sell 1 million in U.K. where the PS3 is bowed to like a God. lol!! Even LPB and Resistance 2 took over 4 weeks to sell over a million copies. Exlcusives that are that hyped should sell over a million it's first week.
"Only"? That's more than than 1 million copies in one month. Awesome numbers. But it's the hiphopgamer... I mean, the hiphopgamer... :|IronBass
yeah zomg the credibility just went down, it would have had alot more credibility if it was rock gamer, death metal gamer, emo gamer, goth gamer :|
i remember hearing things like 'nearly every Ps3 owner will buy k2' i guess not.yoyo462001You really should learn not to believe everything you read. It would take a pretty gullible person to believe that every PS3 owner is going to buy any game. I guarantee that if Final Fantasy 7 was remade, it wouldn't even get every PS3 owner to buy that game. Thinking every PS3 owner is going to buy Killzone 2 is just silly.

Of course it matters, if gamers liked the first games, guaranteed they're going ot buy again to further the story and gameplay. It's hyped like crazy on an internet forum, and internet forums do not represent the majority of gamers.

[QUOTE="Gxgear"]
At best this is just saying at least 6% of PS3 owners have good taste in games.
Gxgear
with that logic, that also means that 94% have bad taste in games
Operative phrase here being "at least". Please learn to read.
ok then.
with that logic, that also means that at most 94% of ps3 owners have bad taste in games
feel better now?

Dude, it wasn't just hyped on internet forums. It was in magazine, on T.V (G4) & ads, in newspapers in are retailers. Gamers have been following this game for over 2 years. You act like no one heard about it. lol!! Serious damage control.[QUOTE="Gxgear"]

Just because it's in maagazines does not mean it's hype, they promote all types of games. Obiovusly Killzone 2 would have been around because it was a big title for one of Sony's first party games.
