i own both and i would rather play ps3 right now its still new to me. and the games i actually love the games out on it and i dont even have motorstorm or fall of man i hate racers and shooters. 360 i only have oblivion for it and i have 99 nights ordered i cant find it in store and im waiting on blue and lost. . im not saying 360 sucks cause it doesnt i just like ps3 more.
well, some people do...but we have jobs and expendable income i guess. anyway, right now i play my 360 the most...obvious though, since ps3 doesn't have many games out that i haven't played on the 360. however, i think sony's "home" and that "little big planet" game look awesome and you know that they will have good 3rd party support throughout it's lifespan. they are very similar machines in a lot of respects, so why do you ask? are you contemplating trading your 360 to get a ps3? if so, i'd say wait. if you are thinking of taking the plunge and buying a ps3 (while keeping your 360), i'd say go ahead...more original titles will be here soon and there's already enough on the system to entertain yourself from time to time. i wouldn't be happy with it as my only console, as i play it the least out of the 360, ps3 and wii...but, it is a good system, no doubt about it.
I ask because I have both and so far the PS3 isn't doin it for me.
I like the blu ray (needed it as Bond is only on Blu Ray.)
And I like the features - like the card readers in front and HDMI port - but - i bought the best game on it (resistance) and I wan't wowed by either the game play or the graphics - and there is no other game in the near future that I am excited about. GTA 4 is coming on the 360 and I don't like the MGS games.
PLus - the on-line component is sterile - I play 360 live everyday - but there is nothing for me on the ps3 community?

Right now, between GRAW 2 and Crackdown for 360, and Motorstorm, FNR3, and some blu ray movies for PS3, I am switching between the two just about equally.
no i dont play ps3 online or 360. if i had an extra dsl cable or something i would play but as it is i dont have a way to connect ps3 to internet or 360. when i have to update 360 and ps3 i just use my computer dsl. and anyways even with the dsl i dont think i would play online i did when i 1st got ps3.

No, I think 360 is a better game and multimedia console, for watching hdtv movies ps3 is the best. For music, photos, and videos streamlined straight from your computer, 360 is the best. Lets not forget streaming music when you're playing games.
ANother point - can you not stream music while playing games on the PS3?
Or have I just not figured out how yet?

As far as I am aware you can't...but I wouldn't really know because my PS3 can't even read iPods...which is a joke because that is by far the most famous mp3 device.

True. I have not downloaded any movies or shows on Xbox Live though. Well actually, i did download the free South Park episode in HD.   I don't do any streaming either. Downloading while playing games is a huge plus for 360. But for myself right now, i think it's a huge plus for PS3 that it's capable of uncompressed lossless audio, and the 360 is only capable of regular ol'e Doby Digital. Hopefully a new 360 with HDMI will come out. I'll be glad i bought mine at costco if that's the case.

Reason? Games of course. I buy gaming consoles to play games, hence the term gaming console. I find it funny people are still waiting to get one considering all of the great games it has and will be getting in the future.
I play games on my 360 and watch movies on my PS3. I also play a little Tekken: DR and Virtua Fighter. 360 is absolutely dominating my entertainment center right now :) I'm an Astropop addict :( I'm currently playing through Lost Planet's story mode. I like the game, but man, who wrote the story? It makes very little sense!
I love the controller. If I've played a lot of PS3 games and then play a 360 game it's almost damn near theurapeutic to hold the 360's controller in my hands. It's almost like it was made by God himself to fit in a human hand. Live is awesome in its own right and I love the media streaming capabilities from my PC. The gaming library is good for a year old system and there's a wide range of genres available.

As the owner of a 56" 1080p set the Bluray playback feature is downright awesome. If it weren't for the Bluray I probably wouldn't have one now, and would be content to wait on more exclusive content for the PS3 library. The Sixaxis motion controller seems rushed and tacked on. I rarely use the feature, except for free throws in NBA/NCAA 2k7 and putting out myself on fire on Resistance. I really like the XMB and think it is very easy to navigate. Not worse than the 360 dashboard, just different and just as effective.Â
I really enjoy both and depending on the day I like one more than the other. The truth is that they are both inanimate objects that provide entertainment for me. It's silly to get attached to either one like fanboys tend to do.
I own all three actually. Between the PS3 and 360 I'd say the PS3 because.....I believe that it is more powerful, it isn't loud as hell, it doesn't freeze on me in the middle of my games, and I have a large backlog of PS2 games to play still.
I own both and I am leaning toward the 360. I currently use the ps3 mostly for bluray movies on my 42" plasma and i now have resistance, motorstorm and ncaa college hoops. All games I enjoy. But they do not compare to the huge library of games I have for the 360 and my 360 has a direct link to my pc via media center which allows me to pull videos, movies, pics, my entire music catalog and I also use vongo which I can stream movies directly to my 360. All in all for me it is about the games and they are great on the 360, add the acheivements which are growing week after week and I am a happy gamer.
I prefer the PS3 right now because i really enjoy the bluray right now, and i play more games on it. However when Halo 3 comes out (the whole reason i bought a 360) i will probably play that alot.
I own neither of the two, just a Wii for me. Im a huge PS game fan (never liked sony... but love many 3rd party games that backed sony up) Even though I could care less aobut 360's PC/American styled game lineup... Its hard not to cringe at how Sony is brutally bouncing down a hell of a long flight of stairs.
I hope Nintendo will snag most of Sonys Japanese 3rd party game... it would make things much easier... and if 360 finally gets somthing appealing to me, I wouldnt hesitate to get it either.

360 right now. It gets the most attention by a long shot. I turned on the PS3 for the first time in a few weeks just to download the Resistance update. It had been so long that there was a system updated I had not yet downloaded yet (no not the 1.6 update coming out tomorrow).

It was a launch game. 1st gen games are always mediocre compared to the future games on a specific console. Sad but true. How far into Resistance did you get, and how much multiplayer have you done? I am kind of in the same boat as you. I haven't finished the campaign yet, and I do like it, but I can't sit any play it for 10 hours in a row like I can Oblivion. I also spend a ton of my multiplayer time respawning because I suck at it.
Depends what kind of multiplayer options are available. If none appeal to me (and most likely they won't...GTA is a game best enjoyed alone), I will most likely go with the PS3.
