Is gta supposed to be out before halo 3?
PS3.....I guess because it is still new to me and there is NOTHING to play on 360, nothing new at leastironwarrior2

I own both and right now I like the ps3 better than the 360 because I have just changed the hard drive and installed yellow dog linux plus some apps. Right now I am typing this on my ps3. The ps3 is like the old xbox easy to mod with great games to play.
Sure psn sux compared to live but it will improve I hope and the blu-ray movies must be seen and heard to be believed I will never buy dvds if i can get the blu-ray version. The 360 is a great machine to play games on but the ps3 just does almost everything. It 's a cheap htpc that plays games. Now I know most of the people here just want to play games but if you want a cheap pc alternative in a small form factor the ps3 is it.
i just read your post and i agree completly. if all you care about is playing games buy a 360. if you want all the extras PS3 offers, well... there ya go.I own both and right now I like the ps3 better than the 360 because I have just changed the hard drive and installed yellow dog linux plus some apps. As of right this minute, I will be buying it for 360 because of the achievements, and soundtrack. If Home's HoF is up and running maybe I'll get the ps3 version. MS might make that decision easy on everyone and buy Take-2.When (or if) you buy GTA4, are you going to get it on 360 or PS3?
Ps3 - better graphics? (a little better at least)
360 - custom soundtrack, better on-line support, bigger audience,

[QUOTE="kotyk"]It was a launch game. 1st gen games are always mediocre compared to the future games on a specific console. Sad but true. How far into Resistance did you get, and how much multiplayer have you done? I am kind of in the same boat as you. I haven't finished the campaign yet, and I do like it, but I can't sit any play it for 10 hours in a row like I can Oblivion. I also spend a ton of my multiplayer time respawning because I suck at it.I beat Resistance's sp campaign. It was a good time, I see little reason to go back and play on hard though.I got Resistance too.........and I thought it was very average at best.
Graphics were OK - story was good - on-line was OK...............no staying power.
After I finished it I went back to Rainbow six and GRAW 2 and haven't played it since.
For a more powerful machine that my 360 - how can the graphics of resistance be so average?
[QUOTE="dru26"]I own all 3 consoles, and find myself playing the 360 more. I liked RFoM online, but once I got my hands on R6 Vegas, I haven't touched it. Motorstorm has been alot of fun, buit it feels like it is seriously missing something, well beyond extra tracks. A more detailed stat tracking would have helped the game an awful lot.Bgrngod

Yea I tried to mod my 360 but even when I swap the hard drive it still only see's 20gigs, my 360 plays burned games but basically I need my pc as a crutch with the 360. If all I wanted was to play games then I would stick with my 360 or I would have still been a hardcore hermit that refused to play console games. It's really funny when I see people bashing the ps3 but have no clue what it can really do for the money compared to other platforms.
I've had a 360 since late last year, and I bought a PS3 a couple of weeks ago. I haven't really played the 360 since I got the PS3. I beat all the games I own for the 360, and there really isn't anything that interests me right now for the 360 that I don't already have. I have been playing the crap out of Motorstorm. My god that game is awesome. I also bought untold legends dark kingdom today, and it is a pretty cool game. The reviews say it sucks, but it doesn't. Tekken 5 dark ressurection is awesome, I bought that too.
I bought a PS3 because I wanted Blue ray, and I wanted to play a game that wasn't a shooter. I did buy Resistance, and its cool, but motorstorm is taking up my gaming time atm. I also love how quiet the PS3 is. You can barely hear it. The 360 sounds like a jet engine lol. Once Forza 2 and mass effect come out, I will start playing the 360 again. Or for gears online if my friends call me to play. Lair and heavenly sword should be out soon, so my PS3 is going to get a lot of play time.
Over all, I think their graffix abilities are about the same ATM. Motorstorm gave me the same type of jaw dropping experience Gears did the first time I saw it. Which ever you want to get is due to gaming preference. Shooters and Sports for 360, and Action/Adventure,RPG and Fighting for PS3. I am aware 360 has some RPG's coming out, But I am talking about each systems strengths.

its sad nobody else realizes the truth.I dont prefer one over the other...
360 is a damneds good console, it has a large selection of games and Xbox Live has gone through some good updates since the console launched.
PS3 is starting to finally come around in the software department, 1.60 firmware today will fix alot of issues i have with the interface, and Sony always delivers solid games. Whether you want to admit it or not they will have good games too. Plus not paying for online play IS nice. Oh and blu-ray is great :) Slowly building my library
All in all...while 360 gets more play AT THE MOMENT, PS3 is still a solid piece of machinery.
long story short - if i want max usage of my ps3 i need to learn how to mod it.....kotykNO NO NO!!! not mod it. its just got alot of features that go unnoticed for one reason or another. you can LEGALLY put an operating system on your PS3 and use it as a PC yet nobody does it. i have no idea why. its realy simple and really useful too. if you got any questions juts ask me.

I just got to get better at using the guns and I think my MP experience will get better.I got Resistance too.........and I thought it was very average at best.

I repeat if you DO own both, which do you prefer and why?kotykI play my PS3 more. But I lie both about even now. But later this year once more games come out for PS3 I will be playing it way more (outside of HALO 3!!!)
I own both.Good post. I wanna add to that once HOME, more games, and Rumble release for PS3, it will be noticeably better. But right now the 360 is just a more mature system for obvious reasons. Give the PS3 more time, it's a long term program and still a baby :D. 360 took awhile to mature also,.about 8 months.
360:
I love the controller. If I've played a lot of PS3 games and then play a 360 game it's almost damn near theurapeutic to hold the 360's controller in my hands. It's almost like it was made by God himself to fit in a human hand. Live is awesome in its own right and I love the media streaming capabilities from my PC. The gaming library is good for a year old system and there's a wide range of genres available.
PS3
As the owner of a 56" 1080p set the Bluray playback feature is downright awesome. If it weren't for the Bluray I probably wouldn't have one now, and would be content to wait on more exclusive content for the PS3 library. The Sixaxis motion controller seems rushed and tacked on. I rarely use the feature, except for free throws in NBA/NCAA 2k7 and putting out myself on fire on Resistance. I really like the XMB and think it is very easy to navigate. Not worse than the 360 dashboard, just different and just as effective.
I really enjoy both and depending on the day I like one more than the other. The truth is that they are both inanimate objects that provide entertainment for me. It's silly to get attached to either one like fanboys tend to do.

I own both, but ever since Motorstorm came out my PS3 has been getting WAY more play time than my 360. Check my sig for my 360 blog and it should say when I last played it, its mostly been XBLA games.   But overall right now, game wise the 360 is better, its just that I don't have any interest in going back and playing some of them. ( crackdown gets old once you have maxed everything in stats, blowing stuff up can't last forever :( )
I prefer PS3, also to state for the record I haven't played my 360 for about two months because of PS3's addiction with RFOM. In my vote crushes any 360 online game...more weapons, more choices per match setup, more people, fast paced, excellent control, a better type of reward system for in game records and achievements then GeOW, etc...familyguyvs360BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Resistance is the most generic PoS ever seriously it's so mediocre in every way and the controls are absolutely terrible. It reminds me of Killzone how crappy the aiming mechanics are

Dude, A blind man can see you hate the PS3, and that you are a 360 fanboy. You insult resistance by saying the aiming is as bad as killzone. Resistance plays very well. I really don't think you have actually played it. Killzone was a boring bland run of the mill FPS. Resistance is actually good.
better games - yes, so far
better controller - have to admit, yes, feels way better than the siaxis
better online - yes, so far at least, but also proabably always be better
better graphics - i see no difference yet, ps3 may be better in the future

I have both and I like the 360 much more than my PS3.
First, there aren't any must buy games on the PS3 yet. On the other hand I've had and I'm still having a lot of fun on my 360 with Oblivion, Gears of War, Viva Pinata, Dead Rising, Rainbow Six Vegas.
Secondly, this year, there are quite a few games I'm looking forward to buy on the 360: Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Eternal Sonata, Halo 3 and Fable 2. There is nothing on the PS3 I look forward to this year except MGS4 (or is it 2008?) and FFXIII (which may go to the 360).
Thirdly, The online systems are equivalent but IÂ like the 360 user interface better. Microsoft loses a few points because their multiplayer is not free.
In addition, the Xbox 360 has achievements which are a really nice way to add longevity to games.
On the other hand, one thing I like my PS3 for is the blu-ray movies.
In conclusion, it's all about the games. If you don't have games, you can have the best system in the world and still be bored with it.
This pretty much summed up my opinion too.....
Just not looking forward to any games coming out for the ps3 exclusively. I haven't played any of the MGS games except for the psp version which sucked.
However - i think you get what you pay for with XBOX Live. I would pay for it anyday over free ps3 online.

Own BOTH?! How rich do you think i am?your 2nd point is valid, 360 has better games right now. Your first point is off. The 360 is more expensive since you have to pay to play online. Overtime it negates the initial $200 price difference.
I'd say 360, affordable and has the most games i like.

Well, I own all three. Even imported a US PS3 since the price of the PS3 in Sweden was absurd.
So far my 360 still is the favourite. I got Resistance and Motorstorm for the PS3. Resistance to me is generic and boring. MP is ok without excelling in any area. Motorstorm is fun but quite repetetive.
Right now the 360 wins in several areas:
* More games I like. Kind of expected since PS3 is still relatively new so this will of course improve with time.
* A much more solid online experience. I get what I pay for - a great online service. PSN to me is far far behind XBL. Home sounds intriguing but I'm more interested in unified friendslists, game invites between games, voice chat in all games etc. than a MySpace/Second Life setup. The fact that I know that 360 games will have a solid online experience while I never know what to expect on the PS3 is quite important to me. That's for instanes why I'm getting Virtua tennis 3 for the 360 instead of the PS3
* Better media experience. I stream music and video from both my various PC's at home (including a dedicated Media Server) as well as my Vista Media Center. It works flawless and is easy to set up. I even have had sucess with transcoding divx movies on the fly. The PS3-experience is in my experience much more clunky. No easy set up for streaming over the network. Not to mention I dont seem to have the ability to play my own music when playing games. I've just installed YDL on the PS3 and it will be interesting to play around with it more but so far I see it as more of a geeky fun thing to try than something usefull. So right now the PS3 simply doesn't do it for me in the media department.
Blueray is nice but I also got the HD-DVD addon for the 360. I bought a bunch of Blueray and HD-DVD movies when I was in New York 2 weeks ago and to be honest I was more impressed with the quality of the HD-DVD movies (the image quality) than the BR movies. It's still nice to have both though. in the end the selection of movies is quite bad anyway so I am relying on DVD's for quite some time yet. Oh, a plus for HD-DVD is that is so far is region free when it comes to movies. As far as I've seen for Blueray it seems to be just some that are region free.
* The 360 control is sooooo much nicer. I must admit I really do not like the PS3 controller. Much to light. Not to mention I miss my rumble. Hopefully they will release a new controller with rumble soon.
The plus-side with the PS3 is of course that it is silent. I've never really been bothered by my 360 as it sits in a nice cabinet and I usually have my 5.1 system blasting out the sound anyway but if the sound of the 360 bothers you then the PS3 will be a welcome surprise.
BTW - I have a launch model 360 which never has had any issues.
So, right now the 360 simply fits me better. The PS3 is by no means a bad console, just don't think it was worth the initial price regardless how many "hidden" features it has. I rather have a console that does fewer thing well than one who does a lot of things not so well.
Oh, and my Wii is actually currently packed away. I brought it to my sister a few weeks ago so she could try it but haven't gotten around to set it upa gain once I got home. It just hasn't hooked me I guess. I need to set it up again since I got Excite Trucks waiting for me.
