1. plenty games run in true 720p
2. a higher resolution is great when you can play on a larger screen so it will increase the immersion.
now you can play pc on a hd screen.. but if you play it on your crappy 20 inch monitor in 1080P it's worthless in terms of immersion.
3. a video card doesn't run a game.. you need a pc build around that card....
but yeah, when you have a great rig, and play games on the highest settings on a HD projector on 100 inch or larger screen with full 5.1 or 7.1 surround, you get the very best gaming experience. true.

See evything you say about a 'HD TV advantage' and 'immersiveness' is relative to PC gaming regarless.
Or perhaps the 'console gaming on the couch' argument?
PC gaming still falls under this advantage.
