If PC games are so much better than 360 games then why are 360 owners buying more copies of Halo 3 than Orange box?.
I can't see how you can riggle your way out of that one to be honest. 360 owners have shown they don't really want your games, so it's probably best you stop going on about them.

How is The Orange Box so high when they're just re-releases of games? I thought value played no part in the review scores?
(I'm new to 360, mine is coming in the mail, so I really don't get the appeal, so please enlighten me.)

From what I read, Portal is like a two hour game. Excite Truck is way longer and it got 6.8, the only negative basically in the entire review was that it was short. Also, from what I can gather, none of these games got that high of reviews on gamerankings. So, if the games are all old... why do they get rated so high when sites like GS trash games for being rehashes, not new, outdated graphics, etc...
Maybe the graphics/content is really new... I don't know, that's why I asked.

I am not sure what you are smoking while I am supposed to be smoking all this, but I have proven all my points in my statements. No game in that box has gotten the average it has received as a pack and that's when they were all new games, and short games always get yanked on the scores. Lemmings cry and moan about game length and then are going to brag up a two hour game and remakes? I have no doubt all the games are great, I just am trying to figure out what warrants them getting such high reviews and thus far no one has told me anything that has shown me what warrants it.

You're quite misinformed on the subject. There is a total of 5 games in the OB. Three of those are BRAND NEW. Only two games are a re release. HL2 is averiging 95.6 on GR. Pretty close to the OB. EP1 was great, ojnly thing it was too short, that's why it didn't score that high. The 3 new games, EP2, TF2 and Portal, have been reviewed seperatly only by a few outlets, so I really don't know waht you're going on about.

Sigh. here we go again. Why dont you even look up its contents.
Of course each game hasent gotten the same score as the package, but all the games exept Portal and Ep1, are AAA on Metacritic. Even steam lists their individual average scores.
And HL2 + Ep1 arent remakes either - god knows where you got that from. For the 360 they are ports.
As for Episode 2, Portal and TF2 they are all original games. Yea you must be smoking if you think those are only a two hour game and remakes.
Why dont you PLAY the games then critise it.

Half-Life 2 is 3 years old, Episode 1 is a year and 4 months or so and an expansion. Portal is a 90 minute game. Episode 2 is new, but another expansion. Team Fortress, I have no idea except for it has a 92.9% on GR. I have no problem with these things, but it's things nerdy lemmings seem to worry about way too much. I guess it's like the sales vs. games thing, as long as the lemmings were winning sales for Sept, it was ok to brag about because it was in their favor. If you notice, games that old generally drop in score, not rise/remain stable as Half-Life 2 obviously is the best game of the bunch. If Metroid Prime is released today, it wouldn't score a 9.7, Ocarina of Time went from AAAA to AA, etc...
I asked these questions because I didn't know (that's why I told people to enlighten me in my first post). I wouldn't have tried to figure these things out if I wasn't interested in the game, I am just trying to figure out where these inflated (although very slightly and virtually meaningless) scores came from.

Well the honest answer is because Orange Box is the best game on 360. Way better than Halo 3 and reviewers take that into account. It is much easier for a first person shooter that started out on PC to score better on 360 since 360 has so few good FPS's.

Also once Ep3 is done Valve will probably release a special package where you get ALL of the Source engine games including Half-Life Source and all the multiplayer mods like DoD: Source and HL2: DM. That would then be the new best game on 360.

I agree that its a better package for sure! But its not as if there are many games on PC, X360 or any other platform that are as good as Half-Life. Even though there are a lack of games on X360 that are as well build as HL2, it being number 2 on Gamerankings should be a testament to good it was and still is.

Your most definitely right! Hard to deny the Orange Box.
Portal was the only reason why I like OB... Iv played HL2 and EP1 and EP2 was great but nothing new or exciting and TF2 is the same old same old TF but less of what made me like the original.
Check out this review it should show you how actual HL2 Fans feel about The OB. CLICK HERE!
