Generic means that it lacks specificity.

In other words, what you are saying is that Halo is no longer unique as well as Forza. Halo is old but does that make it generic. Also Forza games have been the best racing simulators for a couple of years now.....generic ?

While I admit that Ori and the Blind Forest was amazing, I don't see how Halo or Forza should be compared to it...

They aren't a threat whatsoever since they are in completely different genres.

They're all great games.

Not same type of game, i have not played halo since halo3 so i look forward to halo5. I have already beat Ori and Halo5 i dont know yet how good it is.

It's one of the most beautiful games I've ever seen, I love the handrawn art style. I finished it in a few sittings though, whereas with games like Horizon 2 I put in over 150 hours and I could still play lots more if not for Forza 6 grabbing my attention now.

I cannot just have games like Ori in my library, not even sure what this OP is about.....it's nice having variety buy I really need my fix of higher profile games that come with a big community and provides a lot replay value, but that's just me.

Thats the best thing about the Xbox one, its got something for everyone. Amazing indie platformers, simulation racing games, competitive FPS games, cinematic action games, crazy open world action games. Sony and Nintendo should take note.

They're all great. There's no reason to put Ori on a pedestal, and shame Forza and Halo. Or vice versa. 3 different games, and 3 different genres. Something for everyone.

I haven't played Ori yet, but with a gun to my head I'd say it's most likely a more satisfying experience than almost every game that's come out this year developed by a huge AAA studio. .

AAA isn't going after incredible gaming experiences anymore... Theyre chasing a development model that revolves around profitability and sustaining preexisting franchises that mirror one another... High investments, low risks and fingers crossed that the product isn't broken or lame.

Shit, I just played super meat boy for the first time and I can tell you that game is better than nearly every major release this year and that game is like 5 years old. Wanna know why? Because the guys who made meat boy were concerned with an elite and memorable video game and the massive teams that glue together massive yearly sequels are hoping you don't wise up to the tune of playing the exact same game at 60 large year after year....

Don't be silly, Halo and Forza are the pinnacle of the FPS and racer genres, both of which are massive and awesome.

Ori is another awesome game, there's need to trash other games to like it.

Well, it's better than about every Nintendo Platformer I've played since SMG2, that's a better comparison. It's $20 too, instead of the $90 Nintendo were asking for DK/Kirby/Yoshi.

Only thing I didnt like about it was probably that Misty Woods section.
