[QUOTE="kunggustaf"]Fit your girlfriend? And 9 years later, it still doesn't fit my girlfriend. :(

Dang, you're fast. Well, X-BOX. For storage of old girlfriends. (ex-girlfriend?)
Xbox 1 was destoryed by PS2 we all know that.
Good console though.

And by the gamecube, if I recall correctly.

the GCN sold 2 million less than Xbox but gave nearly the same graphicsNovember 15th 2001 was the release of the first Xbox game console and the begining of the end for Sony???Tony-BaxterWell, technically, it never made it to 9 years, as M$ pulled the plug on it in early 2006. There were still games being made for it for a few years, but not much is being made for it now.
[QUOTE="thespywholied"]Sales don't matter?! what matter is that XBOX destroyed PS2 with its GRAPHICS, because graphics matter... PS2 had a almighty games list.Xbox 1 was destoryed by PS2 we all know that.

And the PS2 is still selling and getting games even to this day. It sold more then 3 million this year IIRC. And Xbox killed it in online aswell.

LOL
Let's be serious. PS and PS2 defeated their competition in sales and games. PS and PS2 were defeated in graphics.
It released in 2002 in the UK and started to die After 2004. Great system, pathetic life cycle due to MS.
What i loved about Xbox 1 was that it didnt try to be anything else and was the best at it (consoles).

I don't remember what it sold Jan-Apr, but May-Jul it sold 1.6 million (360 sold 1.5 million in that same quarter, for comparison), and Aug-Oct it sold 1.5, so 3.1 million in 6 months.[QUOTE="thespywholied"]

That's up for debate. If you look on Wikipedia, the Xbox sold over 24million worldwide while the Gamecube sold 21.7.the GCN sold 2 million less than Xbox but gave nearly the same graphics[QUOTE="bigM10231"][QUOTE="thespywholied"]

Not really. According to the Wikipedia sources GC sold as of 2010, 21.7 million. The XBOX as of 2006, 24 million.
9 Years and it didn't even scrap the 70 million mark? Such a weak brand!nintendo-4life
Well you can't have big numbers unless you are first in any given gen, and both XBOX haven't been first. The first usually gets a proportion off the charts compared to the proportion of the rest. Nintendo and Sony consoles clearly show the difference the difference(NES, SNES, Wii vs. N64, GC and PS, PS2 vs. PS3).
I picked up the Xbox at launch, but for the first year and a half it was just the Halo support system as far as I was concerned. From 2003 onwards, the library filled out nicely with games like KOTOR, Riddick, Panzer Dragoon Orta, the Otogis and Ninja Gaiden.
Yeah and most of the kids who play the xbox are just turning 9 aswell... I saw a post a few days ago stating "I grew up with the 360 controller" Thats hilarious!!!JohnF111
ROFL. that was when i replied, "wait, if you grew up with the 360 controller, then in reality you're not a grown up yet." XD
good times bro. the original xbox graced me with some of the best gaming experiences from my childhood.
Yeah and most of the kids who play the xbox are just turning 9 aswell... I saw a post a few days ago stating "I grew up with the 360 controller" Thats hilarious!!!JohnF111So they started playing when 0 years old? That's... not very clever.

if its important to you then its important to you. regardless of what IT is!! As long as I enjoyed playing the games then that was the reason I got the console. GC first then PS2 then Xbox. I had games on them all that I loved.
Too bad that Microsoft Killed leaving it lifeless. its carcus laid to reast not to longafter Halo 2 launched, Forza launched ... etc. May it rest in peace.

cool, and it only lived for 4 years. meanwhile ps2 is still living, nice try though. the xbox sucked
If they can celebrate the birthday of Mickey Mouse and the anniversary of movies like The Wizard of Oz then it's perfectly acceptable to mention how old video game systems are - especially if people still own and use them. The NES even had the November issue of Nintendo Power celebrating the 25th anniversary of its release. It is not customary to celebrate birthdays of dead things.
Pug-Nasty
Happy Birthday Xbox (and if TC hadn't done the topic I would have) - and Happy early birthday to the GameCube - turning 9 on the 18th - and Xbox 360 turning 5 on the 22nd.
Edit: On a side-note, as this is system wars, my original launch Xbox is using its 4th DVD drive while my launch PS2 still works great.
Funny that it was the beginning of the end for SONy, yet they totaly went on to Dominate last gen and are a mere 3 million away from 360 in total sales. yup, totaly dead.

Yeah, those things had an impact on their respective generations. The Xbox did not.

Mickey Mouse and the Wizard of Oz STILL sell
and Nintendo Power celebrated the ANNIVERSARY of its RELEASE, not its "Birthday"
Xbox dies a long time ago, if it was still going strong then i guess u can celebrate its "Birthday" but its dead x_x
