Overwatch gets a 9 on Gamespot

a good little AAA game, not AAAAE like Uncharted 4 but still a good game.

It's well deserved. The difference between Overwatch and Uncharted is that you can get hundreds if not nearly 1k hours out of Overwatch.

Cant argue with that. Trying to compare these two games and claiming ownage over the scores is ridiculous, but look who the TC is.

Same score as TitanFall, seems right they both felt fresh for their time with Rock solid gameplay, but overall I'm getting the impression that OW will have longer appeal.

Cool...still won't buy it as I am not usually a fan of MP only games.

Very beautiful game, doesn't require a super-computer to run - typical of Blizzard titles.

Ughh i soo want to get this game but the MP only BS is a deal breaker for me. maybe i'll pick it up when it hits the $30 mark but by that time it will probably be to late

Anyways , Street Fighter 5 got praised as the best 2D fighter ( while the competition in 2D fighters is way and beyond of Arena shooters ) ever gameplay wise but because it was missing stuff got a 70ish. Now Overwatch , its all about gameplay and polish ( like SF5 was ) but what if it misses almost everything to justify 60$ ( unbalanced chars / no rank systems / limited maps and modes ) , its the gameplay that matters and polish nothing else ? Really ?

Go figure |( money talks or fanboyism or a god knows what ) There are critics/sites giving PERFECT SCORES lol !

Anyways , im so curious to see META total score in few days ... Another Heroes of the Storm / Diablo 3 fiasco is coming where critics praising and gamers laughing ( my opinion )

Well yeah, Blizzard set the standards for post release support of their games.. Titanfall had a measly 3 or 4 map packs that didn't do anything other than segregate the limited player base even further (between ones who had it, and the ones who didn't) when it comes to post release support.. Based on their previous games we can expect more maps, more game modes, huge amounts of rebalancing, new heroes for free or use the HOTS like system.. Seeing as that already exists in the game with a pay real money or in game gold which can be had from crates.

Disagree with that conclusion because not every MP only game is as highly regarded as Overwatch same as F2P. Start at the reception by critics and it's obviously in the same ballpark as Uncharted 4 (even though it's all personal preference). After that, I can see his point to some degree but someone may plain enjoy Uncharted MP more than Overwatch.

The Blizzard store and underhanded bastards. When you go to buy it automatically takes you to "Overwatch Origins Edition" which is £49.99 with no other options. However, if you jump back a page, it has standard for £29.99.

Now , im addicted to MP games since late 90s/early 2000s. Ive played too many to write down and for a god knows how many thousands hours spend.

As we speak ,the last 2 years or so , i got many hours on CS GO. Does that mean CS GO is better FPS than so many others out there just because im playing it almost daily ? Naaah. Thats not how it works. Its not a reason to justify a score because if thats how it works , then Street Fighter 5 that was super polished and addictive in its core gameplay and offered online mode only should have been 9/10 as well.

Anyways , thats my opinion.

As for Uncharted 4 , is out of point. This is not Overwatch vs Uncharted 4. Its more like Overwatch vs SF5. But if you want my opinion , as i said before , after almost 2 hours in Overwatch BETA , i uninstall it . So lets let our taste on games and personal preference on side , thats something totally different.

Blizzard are greedy bastards, no question, people are praising their "support" ignoring World Of Waracrafts.

i.e. pay for mounts, pay for armor, pay for gold, pay for power-leveling on top of a subscription fee and expansion packs that cost a fully priced retail game.

I've been gaming since the 1970's, bugging older brothers to play Pong. So what? Many of us have a pseudo resume of gaming experiences.

No score need be justified except by the reviewer. Their reviews are their attempt I take it. But we all often disagree as entertainment is subjective.

Uncharted 4 is only a part of this because the TC started the thread comparing the two games. I don't get why SF5 is coming in now. Because it was online only? LOL

It doesnt work like that.

You see , when critics and some gamers alike were salty about SF5 missing modes even if everyone agreed games gameplay was one of the best ever , if not the best , while game offered only MP including RANK matches , noone came into SF5s defense. Literally noone.

It was a fact that missing content over a full priced game was the main reason and the bottom line in every single review i read or watched as of why SF5 didnt make it to AAA status. Every single critic said that IF SF5 would come with story mode and more of this and more of that would easily make it to higher scores.

And now that OVERWATCH missing story/single player mode // Ranking // Maps // Modes while at the same time there are numerous character balance concerns while provides MP only as SF5 did = "No problem , this game is 10/10 because its polished and its gameplay is one of the best , if not the best" ( ring a bell ? ) Really ?

Anyways , this is my opinion. As for uncharted ... how is possible to even compare those 2 , is beyond me. A single player action 3rd person shooter game that offers MP as well to a dedicated MP First person shooter.

A reason that took place with SF5 was it has a pedigree or history. In SF4 there were these other modes on release. So, like Halo 5 not having split screen and BTB at launch it caught flak for this. Overwatch has no history that the devs are disappointing consumers with.

I agree in the comparison of U4 and Overwatch makes little sense and said so in my first post in this thread.

MP shooters these days are fun at first but after you try everything in the game and there is nothing to do you'll just regret buying them at full price ( Titanfall and battlefront ) .
the only solution is adding good new content to keep the game fresh . halo 5 is doing that and it really works . lets wait and see how will Blizzard support this game .

You have a strange definition of "playing victim". I simply don't agree with your take on how things work. I have learned my own and it works for me.

And I repeat, SF5 has a history before it with the missing modes included with previous releases just like Halo does with split screen and BTB. Both got called out for it by gamers and reviewers. Overwatch doesn't have that. This is what any reviewer knows of Overwatch. Maybe it isn't fair, but that's life.

I repeat as well , Overwatch lacks maps/modes , there are balance issues and has no content to justify 60$. Same issues SF5 had. You can talk all you want about gameplay and polishing but that was the case of SF5 also.

Also as i stated before to you and some others around , if this game was exactly the same but was coming from other company that Blizzard not only i beleive most of die hard fans wouldnt give a shit about it , let alone many wouldnt even know about it either , but also i beleive score wise wouldnt be that high.

Overwatch lacks maps/modes but there never was a precedence for Overwatch having anything but what it has. SF did have that precedence. Like I said maybe its not fair to you, but that's life. Others feel a SP only game can be heralded so why cant MP only? Other people feel like its too warm in Alaska.

That's my opinion.
