Hmmm, does seem a lot like SFV now that I think about it. I mean, I love SFV and would give it at least a 9. Sure I wouldn't have minded it having a story and other crap thrown in but as a clearly competitive fighting game it is top-notch.

Seeing the scores for overwatch it all makes sense now. Its a new ip and we all knew what it was going for from the beginning without expectatons of past franchises so naturally it will be graded on what it set out to do. If there is confusion in what the game is going for it will be scored less favorably in the case of SFV and Battleborn. So interestingly the way you market a game will affect reviews in the way that reviewers have a better idea of what your game is and what it set out to do.

And being more fun and polished also effects the review.

I take it back.

After watching the GS review it looks like it would be a blast on PC.

Looks quite fun. Was watching roommate play it. But knowing me I would only play it for a week or two then never touch it again. Not much for online-only multiplayer-only games.

@zergforlife:Yeah sure of course but I'm saying even if you have a fun game that's polished you can get marked down a considerable amount if your marketing is off or you are in the shadow of your predecessors in the case of SFV. What I'm really saying is reviewers don't always just look at the game itself and grade it in a vacuum for better or for worse. In Overwatch's case I think they did good by only looking at the game itself as a pvp mp online game and grading it accordingly. SFV on the other hand...no arcade mode no buy was the general attitude.

Gotta to admit OW is growing on me. Those damn Bastion players though lol. Maybe I just suck.
