P.T new "Silent Hill" game. Love or hate?

I can't see them sticking in Norman Reedus' likeness and keeping the game first person.

Didn't Kojima say the other day it will either be entirely 3rd person, have 1st person specific segments or give you the choice to play in first or third person?

I won't lie, it's pretty scary. I hope the final game will be third person though, it's a Silent Hill game. You're playing some celebrity actor from a shitty show, I think they'd want to show that.

I think it looks like a scripted mess. Cant even imagine what the full game would be like it looks so disconnected from the gameplay, it's like you're playing as a camera going up and down a hallway.

@hehe101: the lack of a HUD and avatar on the screen makes it more immersive. Don't knock it till you try it, it is scary.

What did break immersion was the difficulty of the final puzzle.

It's actually isn't scripted either. I played through and then my gf played through and different scares happened in different spots.

Well.. but the thing is that it´s not scripted at all. Well full game will take place in city. You rather have dead space action shooter game, or game where you have to sneak to survive or you die and will be scary as hell. This demo is totally realistic. Gameplay is amazing. Never seen anything like that.

The thing is, gameplay is so real like it feels you really in game... no HUD, no guns, no weapons, no health... you do something wrong, you die.

I really doubt the actual game is going to be like the teaser

People don't seem to understand that this is a Teaser, nothing more, is not a demo for God's Sake, even Kojima has said that they are still considering having a third person view, a first person view or both. The teaser was damn creepy, i loved it but this is not how the game is going to be played...at least right now, is not.

As long as it's on the playstation only, should be a better experience

The Silent Hill franchise has been wildly inconsistent when it comes to quality. Hope for the best but be sure to remain prepared for the worst, because SH has seen some BAD games.

I would love to play it....but I honestly can't play horror games.

Very little doesn't scare me in horror games.....except Dead Space 2....that game is trash for scary.

I hope the gameplay design is unique to the playable teaser. I hope the actual game is much much more than a first person horror game. We already got SOMA and Aliens Isolation coming, that Daylight game turned out to be a stinky pile of poo. I'd rather they avoid those no action tension building narratives that lose their appeal after first playthrough.

I'm betting the game will be 1st person specifically for the new VR system and/or Occulus Rift.

1st person is what makes the game so goddamn scary and nerve wrecking. It literally puts you in the characters shoes.

I'd be pretty damn turned off if they decide to make it 3rd person. Which I doubt Kojima and Co. would do since the demo/teaser has received such overwhelmingly positive reviews.

I really hope they don't use those cheap scare tactics from the demo in the actual game.

Im totally confused who voted 3rd person. This means another Resident Evil game, shooting and killing. I WANT HORROR GAME, NOT ACTION GAMES(LIKE FEW LAST SILENT HILL GAMES).

Reboot and new ideas are great.

Also, do you see game is called "Silent Hill"; NOT "Silent Hills" which proves its total reboot.

Loved it. It was a new experience because of the use of first person.

LOVE LOVE LOVE. I don't really care what it is. The game looked awesome. My only issue is I'm not a fan of calling it Silent Hills. Kind of feels lazy to me. It has been Silent Hill without the s for so long it makes it sound strange.

That's my problem with horror games in general, I always come out of it feeling cheaply manipulated instead of scared. It annoys the shit out of me.

Looks like a generic horror film.

Nothing in the demo was cheap. They invest pretty heavily into every jump they throw out. Hell, it flat out warns you about the worst of them after building up to it for 5-6 rooms.

In terms of the question at hand, this isn't even a game. It's a targeted marketing tool; an extravagant reveal trailer designed to spawn discussion and forum threads in a way that a regular reveal trailer can't.

At best it proves that Silent Hill might finally regain some atmosphere, and that it'll be running on a significant engine, but other than that there isn't much to take away from it.

I think first person makes the game more immersive and the graphics look great. I haven't played any good 3rd person horror games since the Suffering.

Looks pretty cool from the playthrough I saw, through I kind of like it to be third person like the previous SH games.:P Too bad I can't personally try it out, but whatever. Dat jacob's ladder influence.

A console can never have the best hardware. Exclusivity = no body wins Multiplat = everybody wins.

Not to mention the fact that very few people an afford to buy all systems. I myself would prefer to invest 1000 euros in upgrading my PC over buying BOTH the PS4 and Xbone.

I think that would be kind of cool, actually. I don't have a PS4 yet, but I watched some playthroughs and it looks really scary. I think the 1st person view would be awesome for exploration and puzzle solving.

BTW: EXCELLENT EXECUTION. The stealth delivery on this product to the PS4 store, barely making an issue on Gamescom stage, keeping the P.T. situation low-key and letting fans figure it out, all a secret even upon boot-up looking at the studio name...brilliant.

Kojima confirmed they haven't decided on 1st person or 3rd person, or a mix of both. This is just a teaser. Also, the title of this thread is spoilery along with the pics. I've been involved in 3 or 4 P.T discussions here in SW, and this new P.T. thread by far is the worst in terms of spoilery content from the title to the pics. I'm just glad I beat the demo the day it released or I would be aggravated. I feel bad for those with a PS4 and didn't know the deal as this thread sort of wrecks that experience and fun for them.

Love it. The direction that horror games should be going in. Amnesia 2 was such a disappointment to me so hopefully Silent Hills delivers.

The demo was scary as sh!t. My heart couldnt take it. If the final game ends up being this scary I wont play it alone thats for sure.

Walked down the first hallway, shit my pants and shut it off... nothing even scary happened. Just had a big dinner...
