You know what? I am serioulsy considering getting a 3DS, one it's in my budget, and 2 is it has some awesome games! I'm disappointed in how Sony is handling the Vita, it has the power to be so great, the tech is all there and everything.

But it's not worth getting because it has no support, and the memory cards are WAY overpriced. However I have sensitive eyes and the 3D gives me a headache, so I will play with that feature off or just barely on.

Also the lack of second analog sucks, but I think I might be able to get used to it eventually. Zelda OoT, Lugi's Mansion 2, Paper Mario, and more! The 3DS has me VERY interested right now.

BUT YOU CAN PLAY YOUR VITA CONSOLE GAMES IN SUB-HD!

Very excited and love some parts of what I see, BUT I am skeptical abotu some of the new mechanics.

I am a bit worried about the sticker album being the attacks and such. Does this mean once I use a jump sticker it is gone for good? Or is it just gone for that battle and my stickers replenish in every battle? While I kinda like this sytem (kinda reminds me of Baten Kaitos), I am worried there will not be the big upgrades that feel constant and special like the badged did in the first two.

Regardless, I am very excited for this and it is probably my favorite Nintendo game shown at E3.

layton2012

If you saw the demo, their is literally sticker everywhere, I don't think running out of stickers is going to be an issue, it's definitely a change for the series. I think I will prefer the old system, but I still think its going to be a great game.

Yeah but if the only sense of permanent uprade is HP and stuff, that is not very fun.

the game is going to encourage exploration and sidequesting as opposed to grinding. I'd imagine with all the coins you get in battle will allow you to buy more powerful stickers (some stickers have multiple ranks)

[QUOTE="YoshiYogurt"] Nobody cares. Slashless

I do, and my opinion itself is all the support I need(because it's the only one that's right)

Also your username is disgusting, just enjoy the game and stop fantasising about that sh*t.

At this point you are just being ridiculous. It's a game from 2010 that wasn't even as good as Fallout 3.

It will not be as good as Thousand Year Door.

No partners, no audience, no badges and flower power, no leveling up and no paper folding abilities.

Right, I get that and love that. But it kinda feels depressing buying them and having them gone once you use them once. I hope they are permanenet, but only regen after a battle or something like that. I have never been a fan of things that are not permament.

If it is better than Xenoblade Chronicles, which I highly doubt, then it's a no brainer for it to be RPG of the year.

I'm aware of that, but it came out in the US this year, so I consider it this year.

So there are no sidekicks in this one? I am actually getting scared now. no sidekicks, badges, and more permanent upgrading? I really hope they prove me wrong, cause it is clearly full of potential.

NaveedLife

nope, seems like the stickers take the place of all of those They serve as battle functions and there's a shop that allows you to turn objects into stickers which you can use to solve overworld puzzles.

it may seem like they're stripping features on the surface, but in truth they all seem to be reworked within the different elements

Hmm....While I think their ideas are really cool, I so wish that the stickers were permanent (maybe one use in battle or something). Or at least permanent with battle uses. If you have to use one to solve a puzzle so be it. The system reminds me a lot of baten kaitos card system, which I love. It gives you a certain amount of space to make your deck (or sticker book. How many pages can you have?), and gives you reason to have mutliple of the same card/sticker. But in Baten Kaitos you didn't throw them away upon use. THis is really keeping me from being super excited, but I will reserve judgement. Oh and I hope recipes are back!

Unless if you're expecting the second coming or there's something wrong with the game I don't think you'll be disappointed. I know you like to compare nintendo's games to GC counterparts but this looks like it's doing it's own thing rather than just being TTYD 2

Unfortunately for me, that's not close enough. I'm talking you play as Bowser, ruler of the Koopa Troop, and you either 1) conquer Mushroom Kingdom and kidnap Princess Peach (a la Final Fantasy Tactics/Fire Emblem), or 2) they pull another Rare and do a "new race of invaders" coming in, and Mario/Bowser have to join forces to stop it again, except Bowser leads. Inside Story is not those things.

Lol believe me, I am not just trying and hate on it because its different. I am not like that. Most of the time I hate on things in SS and other Wii games is because in my mind they are very dumbed down and such. However in Sticker Star the changes are nothing like that, I just do not know if I like them. I am keeping an open mind and I hope I love it, I just love nothing more than gearing up or finding new permanent items. I am a very permanent progression focused guy :P. A good example is Four Swords. I hate that when you beat a level you start over. You don't keep items like in a Zelda adventure. I am just very worried that the items and such will not be satisfying in Sticker Star.

There is something VERY different about the sty1e of Mario RPG and M&L games. I just cannot get into the M&L games because of it. I love Mario RPG's graphics!

the way I see it it adds an element of conservation to the mix.

you think"Do I use this powerful sticker to clear out this group of enemies or do I save it for the boss ahead?"

Although that leaves the question of when what happen when you run out, but I'm sure the designers have enough foresight to avoid that problem

Nintendo games are really games, they are more like interactive story books. no effort, just a scripted even over and over and over again. That's why every mario and pokemon it's the same thing, in fact, they are, jusr rearranges with maybe a graphical enhancement. you can't even play it the way you want, nintedo plays it for you. I miss real games not Nintendo movie scripts for children. and that ladies and gentlement will be the new troll slogan for system wars because Ispekfact is getting on my damn nerves. now use it. Nintendo's always been this way though, and it's a formula that continues to be enjoyed by many. I'm also guessing a majority of that many don't find it to be repetitive or overly scripted as well.

So is Uncharted, Heavy Rain, COD, Halo, and inevitably TLOU and Beyond, Sony and Microsoft do the same thing.

Actually if it did win it would win for three years in a row (2010, 2011, and 2012) 2010 was in Japan only, 2011 was EU and AU, and 2012 was NA.

It still deserves it. :P Jokes aside, Paper Mario Sticker Star looked really good. It will be my first purchase of the series. :)

it looks pretty neat. im glad they ditched the super paper mario changes which were pretty awful. replacing sp/fp with stickers seems like a good idea to improve the previous formula and keep it from being the same game. finding upgrades through questing and exploring rather than grinding is a more integrated design choice. plus looking for stickers along the way rather than rationing out fp is an interesting way of flipping the series' dungeon design on its head.

Sub-standard below par downgrades console games are not what should be impressive to thos who play on portables. Why do that when you can have the real rpg experience on consoles? It is also important to note that the Role-playing genre is pretty much more highly acclaimed on Xb0x 360 and even Playstation 3 gaming systems. These will also be the realistic game of the year for the genre. Downgraded Wii ports that are basically the same game with cut framerates aren't what games are about.Dr-Brilliant
graphics aren't what games are about anyway. Its about the gameplay. That's what matter the absolute most.

Someone in Japan has copied Little Big Planet.hippiesanta
I do not see anything in Sticker Star that tries to imitate Little Big Planet.

Even if it did, it would be fallacious to assume that since it did, no game that uses the same element could ever be better. This tends to be a common assertion here in SW.

I'd still rather have a new Mario & Luigi on the 3DS, but Paper Mario is fine.

I agree, I love Paper Mario, but I enjoy Mario and Luigi much more, I really hope that's what Alphadream is working on right now.

I hope they do make one ( a new series) for the 3DS; those were good RPGs.
