I've been all over the world and I've never experienced internet faster than what I got in New York.
Blue-Sky
personally, I haven't noticed a difference either. but supposedly the download speeds are faster in Asia.

[QUOTE="Blue-Sky"]Both BR and HD-DVD is failing, so why should anyone care which one beats the other.
Bread_or_Decide
Yeah except for the fact that BR is not failing.
HD-DVD VS BR is like Xbox VS Gamecube. Sure they are not "failures" on their own merits, but they have a long way to go.
SW is so absorbed within BR VS HD-DVD, even masking it as a SONY vs MS debate, That they've completely forgot the challenge of a new format is the battle for the next physical media standard.Defeating Hd-DVD won't accomplish this goal and right now, DVD is showing no signs of slowing down....
I bet Paramount is kicking themselves right now-Sniper99-
Yeah because Movie studios are making so much money of BR
Both formats are like 1% of DVD sales, If I was paramount, I would of gladly took the money Toshiba was offering, because I wouldn't lose anythingeither way
[QUOTE="penguino726"][QUOTE="kaos-hero"][QUOTE="Crusher89"]most ppl dont' have a hd tv yet alone a player. therefore since most ppl dont' have it = anyone's game. i doubt neither will win because digital downloads will prob be good before everyone has a hdtvpenguino726
how do you know america has slow internet? you realize in america your free to have whatever internet you like, slow fast medium, whatever. I dont know if internet in government mandated in japan or something, but its just foolish to make general claims about a global service ( invented by the U.S government mind you) regareding the internet speed of users in a country where nearly everyone has internet and I would say 80 to 90% decently fast internet. I just dont understand how the internet of all things can be slow in one country and fast in another.... your logic is confusing:|
too bad there was an international study and even canada has faster internet on adverage, sure people can choose to have a t1 network, but its likely only rich people or buisnesses will afford it, every where else there is cheap AND fast internet, i am american and i support this message: dont let your blind patriotism blind your intelligence

How can Blu-ray win without north america? Nevertheless, I suspect warner will support Blu-Ray.
...yes, America is key for the current HD war because they are so far ahead in terms of HD technology. I'm sorry, didn't the CA dollar beat out the US dollar for the past 2 months?
Why do you feel the need to be anti-american? Why do you bring up the U.S dollar which has no relevance to this topic? By the way, you know a weaker dollar isn't all bad.Who actually gives a crap about format wars. Digital Downloads will pwn them both in a few years anyway. BromzI don't give a crap about digital. I want my hard copy.

I love BluRay. I'm such a movie buff :D. I'm glad to see the format I chose winning. One of the main reasons I don't like HDDVD is the color (outside of the great BR studio support). Blue is a beautiful color :P.
Sucks for people who purchased the HDDVD add-on. Things are looking very grim right now.

Having a hard copy is almost a must for me. But it's almost inevitable that digital downloads will become big in the future. I highly doubt it will overcome hard copies anytime soon.
