That is all a matter of opinion. Hendrix is no doubt unique and innovative when it comes to rock music but I think there are more musicians who influenced him that were African Americans. Going all the way back to the 40's and 50's, blues influenced rock and there are so many blues players that influenced theguys like Hendrix, Eric Clapton, SRV etc. Big blues guys like B.B King, Robert Johnson, Ry Cooder etc I think had a much bigger impact on the evolution of rock music then Hendrix did. Hendrix is probably considered the greatest African American musician because of how revolutionary his music was, but so many people call him a genius when I think he was a drugged up freak who made some weird music, I just can't get into a lot of his songs.

Good way to avoid my question, also not all rappers are about that stuff. And I have seen many rockstars just rant on about how much life sucks and go home to their big mansions. I am not trying to say one is better I just hate it when people spew ignorant opinions of rap especially if they don't really take a in depth look into the genre.

Hip Hop appeals more to me. And there are two kinds of hip hop imo. One made only to entertain and other that are very emotional. A perfect example of a artist would be Eminem, songs like Toy Soldier, When I'm gona are very emotional and great, but he also makes music a la "dance style"

And anyways, anywhere you go in a Disco it's hip hop, you will hear rock and all the rest in some small pubs.

Not everyone who likes rap is dumb. Besides, I really only like Chamillionaire and a few songs by a other guys. However, Lil Wayne probably has the most annoying voice I've ever heard.
