Well I've been a PC gamer for a long time, a very long time, and my rig is good enough to run any game on max at 1600x900 resolution. Even Crysis on Very High settings. Before I get slapped and asked why I am buying a console, I do not know really why I am myself, perhaps I'm bored and I have the money or perhaps there are some very console exclusive games out there I must have. Whether or not you believe one or the other I do not care. Now I want to get a console, but I have the hard time figuring out which to get. I mainly play FPS's and Third-Person shooters as well as some RPGS, and Xbox 360 is usually the leading platform and thus peforms better than the Ps3 ports, not on all games but still, and there's really only one Ps3 exclusive I want and that's Uncharted 2. I heard the online is better on the 360 too and I do play a lot of online, but the 360 is expensive in the long run with XBL membership, a wireless adapter (router is in another room) and etc. So which seems like the better choice in the long run?ShadowDoom98That means 360 it has more of them and has a better controller for them.
Well if you still plan on PC gaming on the side then I would recommend a PS3 or Wii, since these two systems have more games there are different from PC games. There's no point in getting a console for you if you just end up playing games on it that you could have played on PC.

Downgrading huh? Well honestly I say PS3 no doubt about it. If you want a 360 you should just stick to PC since almost every game they have goes to or comes from the PC.
Go PS3, as a PC gamer i see more games on the PS3 i would want than on teh 360. Like Valkyria Chronicles, GOW3, LBP...... And we PC gamers get most of the 360's collection anyway.
Oh, and get Mount & Blade Warband for your PC. Its worth the $30 on steam. Sadly it won't be GOTY because GS has a hard time breaking from the hype machines.
That means 360 it has more of them and has a better controller for them. So now that having more FPS and TPs is a good thing, the 360 DOES have more? Oh Lemmings, you always deny this accusation, you can't turn it around. Most of the great games on the 360 are shared with the PC. There's no reason to get a system which has the primary purpose of playing games you can already play.[QUOTE="ShadowDoom98"]Well I've been a PC gamer for a long time, a very long time, and my rig is good enough to run any game on max at 1600x900 resolution. Didn't bother to read all the posts but I'm pretty sure someone must've said the 360 shares a lot of games with PC so there's no real point on getting it... so PS3.
As a PS3 only owner, NO ONE is going to believe I'm not biased. But alas, that's how these forums work. :P
In my honest opinion, the PS3 or Wii will add the most diversity to your library. The first person and third person shooters that you enjoy would be best left to your PC as well as any other multiplats that come out. The 360 has good games as well, but unless you're that pressed on Gears, Halo, and Fable, most of the games you'd like are at your disposal only with better controls and graphically capabilities. The same can be said for multiplats shared with the consoles.
Don't let anyone in here pressure you though. Look into the respective libraries and see what appeals to you.

I'd say the 360 is a better gaming system. The ps3 will be cheaper, but if you're going the cheap route hell the wii is $200.
1. XBL is a community not just online gaming. You can easily see what your friends are up to, and join their games w/ no hassle. PSN you can do this but its not nearly as seamless. The problem w/ this is that the value of the 360 is completely reliant on how well you're embedded into the community. If you don't have a ton of friends on 360 it's pretty similar to psn, but if you are a social gamer the two are night and day.
2. Ps3's shooters are highly overrated compared to pc, and 360. I've tried to like killzone, resistance, and socom, but they are just average shooters. Uncharted is a good action game, but onlinedoesn't have the competitive spirit you see on pc or 360.
As far as a network adapter goes there are ways to work aroundit.
That means 360 it has more of them and has a better controller for them. PC gamers sort of have the better deal seeing how most of their games have the best graphics and cost as much as a Wii game.
i have a decent gaming pc and i bought a ps3 to complement it.
oh and my m8 says leave the consolites alone and buy a dx11 graphics card :P
A DX11 card is a waste of money at the moment. Buy a PS3 and get demon's souls, infamous, metal gear solid 4, god of war 3, and heavy rain TC. Then buy Red Dead Redemption next week.i have a decent gaming pc and i bought a ps3 to complement it.

Get Stalker: Call of Pripyat to use the DX11That means 360 it has more of them and has a better controller for them. better control is subjectible, ive gotten used to a ps3 controller, then go back to a 360 controller and it feels like crap, and vice versa haha. so pretty much 360 might have a more natural feel, but once you get the hang of a ps3 controller it aint bad.[QUOTE="ShadowDoom98"]Well I've been a PC gamer for a long time, a very long time, and my rig is good enough to run any game on max at 1600x900 resolution. great point. like get it for sports, fighters, jrpgs and what ever else you dont play a lot of on PCs.Why would you want to play FPS games on a console? why not you know... get a console to try things you wouldnt on a PC...

Thats how I feel.
If I didn't PC game I might lean towards the 360, but I own all 3 and enjoy them a lot. But if I was only keeping 1 console it would be the 360. Because I'm a Halo fanboy. But a normal person would choose the PS3. So would I, if it wasn't for Halo. My Xbox 360 is my Halo box / "PC" rental machine.

I own all 3 consoles and am primarily a PC gamer. Trust me... PS3 all the way.SquatsAreAwesomDing DIng Ding.... PS3 is the way to go if you already own a rig. A 360 would be redundant unless you need halo... and being a pc gamer...there are much better shooters out there for pc so you probably can skip that. PS3 is the most like pc in hardware, open standards for Hard drives, can use usb drives for transfers, mods, mouse and keybord in ut3. Free online gaming, more variety that makes the purchase compliment the pc. Take it from a long term PC gamer who skipped consoles altogehter last gen...ps3 is the way to go if you own a rig!
Well looks like the majority of the answers are leaning to PS3. Either I'm get some biased answers or you guys speak the truth. But anyway, I already have a DX11 card so I will not be spending another penny on my pc anytime soon. Another thing is that I don't plan on playing any FPS's on the console unless it is console exclusive, which is the main reason why I want a console. And also usually the Xbox 360 is the leading platform in the development of a multiplat game so I just figured to get it. Guess I should rethink my choice.ShadowDoom98
Ps3 has more console exclusive shooters. Six IPs at the moment that I can think of.
I consider myself a dedicated PC gamer and I just purchased a PS3 myself. Most of the Xbox 360's "exclusives" are available on the PC as well, so I agree with everyone else that a PS3 would broaden your library significantly.
