How does the fact that PC gamers can tweak their system to improve performance disprove the fact that console gamers are generally bigger graphics whores? Every time I turn around it's always a console gamer making graphics comparison threads here in System Wars. Almost every other damn thread here in System Wars is somehow related to the topic of visuals. What's the primary reason the Wii gets ragged on by 360/PS3 fans here in System Wars?

Tweaking is just part of the "PC gaming" hobby. We don't necessarily take part in it because we're "graphics whores" ..we do it because we can. I overclock my hardware, sure, but I have no problem at all going back and playing classic games with horrible visuals (most PC gamers are the same way.)

You hear more about console graphics because there are more console players here, simple as that.

And I don't buy the "we do it because we can" if you didn't care about trying to leverage as much performance as possible while maining the best visual fidelity possible, then why do you overclock at all? You know it can wear out your parts faster, right? Just turn down some video quality settings.

Also, why are PC gamers out there building mini nuclear reactors trying to run Crysis on max? Crysis takes the graphic whore concept to a whole new level.

Console gamers go back and play old games with lesser graphics, too. Thats why they have backwards compatibility, and why Sony offers old PS1 games, and Nintendo has Virtual Console.

You called PC gaming a hobby. I maintain that it is indeed a hobby if someone builds and maintains their own system. Hobbies are deep. I consider console gaming a passtime. To that end, after nearly two decades of building gaming PCs, I no longer like to consider myself a PC hobbyist. I just don't care anymore; just wanna play some games.

As for the original topic which I've managed to avoid: Yes PC gamers belong here. Its one of those "I don't agree with your opinion but I'll fight for your right to maintain it" kind of thing when it comes to PCs, for me.

Who cares about this rubbish ? If it's a thread about a PC game, then go for gold, but to read this kind of rubbish in every second thread, when the PC isn't even being referred to, is irritating.

like when GOW come to PC it will run at 120.fps ant 1399x999 resolution an better graphics (they had to Wait 2 get it BTW)

and the newest one is Mass Effect doesn't deserve to be in a console if Bioware made it for the PC 1st i would had been

much better because it would have better graphics, better frame rate and 9999x999 resolution

This is only in response to the constant drivel about graphics I see when consoles come out.. Are you kidding me on this? I don't think I havn't seen a single PS3, or xbox360 thread that brought graphics in the equation.. This is a bit hypocrticial to say the least..

Console gamers can't just go out and grab mouse and keyboard like PC gamers can grab a controller. Console games are designed around the controller and still use the controller input. All using a mouse would do is simulate the right analog stick. You still wouldn't get pixel perferect accuracy. It would still move only as quick as a controller.Blackbond
