GOG, because everything is DRM-free and tested at least a bit. Steam is a nice second, but I don't like how they don't test their games beyond making sure the game overlay works and how everything is tied to the client.

I would go with Steam but Greenmangaming is really stepping up with all the deals they have been having lately.

but GreenmanGaming gives you Steam Keys right?

Depends on the game. If a game requires steam to play then yes you get a steam keyWell there is one positive for Origin, you don't have to sign in to Origin to play your games. I am starting to like Gog.com more for being DRM free so I can share the games I bought on other computers in my house.
well ain't this an old topic.
from 3 months ago too! So it's got some life left I guess.
On Amazon, you guys might want to check this FAQ out: "Do Game/Software Downloads contain digital rights management (DRM) software? Yes, DRM software is part of your game or software download. Please refer to the End User License Agreement (EULA) for your software for more information." (http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200205020) So Amazon games always come with their own kind of DRM, like Steam?joek1999
A lot of games you get from Amazon usually just use DRM from other Sites.
All of my EA games register at Origin and All of the Steam Client ones are on Steam.
Only one that doesn't register either of those is Arma 2 Combined Ops and Billy Hatcher, and that I'm pretty sure I have to just log in to their servers.
I don't know how Amazon DRM works (if there is any). But in order for me to download any game I have to download their download manager first then start downloading the game.
Of couse Steam was going to win. We didn't need a thread to know this.
LOL at the people who voted Origion.
GOG is the best but doesn't sell as many games, however most of the games it sells are really good.
GOG is the best, steam is great for it's sales, Amazon is usually the best for new releases, lol Origin
I love my steam. Ad greenmangaming, though. They got a lot of great deals, constantly, and a lot of their games activate on Steam. I'll use any of them, if it gets me a good deal. I like to have as many of my games as possible consolidated under steam, though. So, I'll go for a steam buy over GMG or Amazon, if the latter doesn't activate on steam, unless it's considerably cheaper than steam. If it's only gonna save me a dollar or so, I'll just get it on steam.
Can I get loads of free games like Batman AC, inFamous 1&2, LBP, Saints Row 2, Just Cause 2,etc... free on steam? Nope. PSN >>>>>Steam.[QUOTE="heeweesRus"]PSN trumps them all especially if you have PS Plus.the_bi99man

No, but I got Batman AC and Just Cause 2, each for the price of 1 month of PS+, and I don't have to maintain a paid subscription to access them whenever I want.

Steam has the best overall package, it's unmatched in community features plus the good deals.
Of course, for general store I'd say Amazon wins, it has a much bigger selection than GoG (while it's nice that it's DRM free, it still restricts the selection a lot) and generally better deals than Steam without locking you down to one platform.
Amazon has been repeatedly kicking Steam in the balls this holiday sale.
Since I can use most of the codes from Amazon on Steam, I will give them the tie for first place. I really don't use GOG and Origin is dead last. The client itself is functional; I really haven't had a problem with it, in fact it's rather competent, but the store (the most important part of a DD service) is subpar in every way imaginable. The prices are ridiculous and the layout is pitiful. It makes me NOT want to buy anything there. To be fair they occasionally have decent sales, but their library is pretty shallow for it to mean anything.
I love Steam for its cheap prices and great community support, but the steam DRM gets on my t!ts so much... nothing's more disgusting than the obvious distrust Valve has of their fans.
Â
So it's gotta be Gog. Steam is great for more modern games you can't get elsewhere, but I will take any source (ANY SOURCE) over steam if it doesn't have DRM. Maybe its just the antisocial me, but if I'm paying for a product I want you to leave me the f*ck alone to enjoy that product once you have my money.
Â
And I never pirate games. I've modded a lot to get around sh!tty and broken DRM coming from places like Gamersgate, but I paid for every game I have.
Steam is DD
The rest are garbage knockoffs that aren't worth my time. Â I only use Amazon when the game im buying gives me a Steam CD Key.
Origin is by far the worst. Â I only use Origin for EA exclusives and lately their exclusives have been garbage so i havent even bought any of those. Â (Dead Space 3)
GoG is also great because GoG is all DRM free which means you don't need steam once you purchase a game through GoG it is yours to do with what you want.Steam is DD

Fizzman
steam. it houses everything much better
amazon has a store i like. They arn't trying be no client or anything like that
origin is fine but w/e. the hate beind it is a joke. IF anyone should hate anything like they do origin it should be games for windows
Havn't used GOG and isn't look like i will be for a bit HAS i notice they changed their priceing system. Games that used to be $5 is now $6 while games ued to be $7-8 is now $10...
