Look, I have both and ultimately I overall prefer my PS3 to my PC. But I have to say half the crap you spewed is wrong.

First, A PC with a 7850 is not going to run you 2k, that is a 200 card that right now on newegg comes with bioshock infinate and tomb raider for free, couple that with a nice i5 and a 120gb SSD with a 1tb 7200 rpm drive and you might break 1k (including ram and OS).

I will give you PC can have stupid problems that sometimes make no sense and your spending time trying to fix it, expecially when people shove stuff like Games for Windows live down our throats.

Cloud gaming is not the greatest future, I think it's a good idea if ALL past games were availiable on it so I could legitly get Tales of Destiny 1 and 2 along with Persona 2. But at the same time, my copies of FF4,5,6,7,8,9,10,10-2,12 and so forth are no good on it, gotta keep my old systems around for those, which I have no problem with, but if I sold those consoles or had them break, I would have to rebuy those games on the cloud service. I keep the classics and like to go back to them. So as for cloud gaming im so so, prefereably I would rather own a digital download copy like what we have on PSN now, or even more preferably the actual disc. But I know older titles like that are very expensive to get the disc, those titles usually go for 70-100 bucks on ebay for the actual PS1 versions.

Also, 4k screens aren't even viable options yet and won't be for many years. Let alone the next gen consoles are not going to puch 4k at all, we will be lucky if everyone always hits 1080p. Let alone for the price of 4k TV i could buy 3 65" Panasonic ST-50 plasma's and link them up for a triple monitor display and still make it out cheaper.

You are also assuming the price of consoles. The PS4 WILL NOT BE 250 bucks. It's going to be at the minimum 400 bucks. If the wii u is 300 for the base console and 350 for premium, theres no way the PS4 is going to be under that.

I will agree with you on stability on frame rate a bit too. That has always been one thing that annoyed me, your getting a solid 60 fps then it just suddenly dips down to 40 or even mid 30's and then back up. These sudden drops in frame are very noticible.

Overall you are spewing incorrect info. I agree with the small bit on stability on the PC platform but overall you need to up your research buddy.

While in 2013 consoles and PCs might be close, what happens when new tech comes out in 2014? and then again in 2015? Consoles will be around equal for around a year, so what?

What a goddamn joke. I can get a game that would cost $60 at the store for less than $20 and download it in 45 minutes and play with the SUPERIOR mouse+keyboard combo while surfing the web and talking to friends too. Consoles are losing market share because people who want the best experience are now building PCs. Consoles only exist because of their exclusives.

Pretty hilarious that the OP is convinced that PC is dying when Sony is striving to make their next console as similar to PC as possible. Hah!

PC...the undead system that just won't die. I'll still pick PC in darn near every circumstance, but I'm sure to have a console or two as a backup. Pretty sure that's the way damn near all PC gamers do it. Give us more half off superior PC gaming!

[QUOTE="Jebus213"]PC gaming is pretty much dead at this point. Older consoles such as the NES began stealing marketshare away from PC's decades ago, and the effect over the years has been phenomenal. The SNES and Sega Megadrive nearly drove the PC sector out of business, and the Playstation stole the PC's thunder when it brought 3D to gaming. Powerful consoles like the PS2, Xbox, PS3, and Xbox 360 were able to give graphics performance that was eons ahead of anything the PC had to offer. These powerful consoles also came with a new techonology that was not available to PCs: Built-in Blu-ray drives, dedicated gaming networks, multiplayer capability, ergonomically designed controllers, motion capture and so much more. The new Xbox 720 and Playstation 4 will use APU technology, which will enable them to have a graphic output similar to the 7850, one of the PCs most hallowed and expensive cards. A PC with such performance would typically cost $2000 or more, but that technology can now be bought on a 250$ console. Consoles will also play games on 4k screens, which have up to 10 times more pixels that of traditional PC screens. New consoles will also incorporate new technologies, many of which will not be available to PCs: Dedicated social interation features, force feedback controllers, and more. An example of new technology that is a console exclusive is GDDR5, an extremely fast type of memory that is between 5-6 times faster then PC memory. This memory will be shared between the CPU and GPU on consoles, allowing both to benefit, from the extraordinary speeds. It will be exclusivly availible in console, which goes on to show that console will have a minimum of 5 times the performance of ANY PC, since PC's have seperate memory for the CPU and GPU. Performance on consoles is driven by its might 8-core CPU, which is leagues above the typical 2-core CPUs found in PCs. Extremely high-end PC's have 4 core CPUs which cost 300$, but still no where close 8 cores in newer consoles. PC gaming is complicated by the OS, viruses, lag, and host of other issues. Decades of complaints have done nothing alleviate this, as there is a refusal to listen to the simple truth: People want a seamless gaming experience. Consoles are designed with this as a core concept, while PC is gaming ignore it completely. With consoles, you pop in a DVD and you are a game a few seconds later. With PCs there are installations, patches, updates, loading, settings... a needless hassle. The latest console will also be backward compatible, via cloud gaming. This is in contrast with PC games, many of which break when a new operating system is released. Consoles thus have a much larger library when compared to PC's, and provide an enriched gaming experience that accommodates the latest blockbuster titles as well as golden classics. Another issue that has become painfully apparent is that people have realized the vast difference in quality between consoles and PCs. PC's break in a few years, or become obsolete very quickly. Between 2003-20013, there has not been a single year in which PC hardware was stable. There is always something new you must upgrade to, and that costs $$$. On the other hand, each version of the Playstation or Xbox remained a supported platform for 7 years or more, so anyone purchasing such a console knows that they do not need to buy anything else for at least 7 years. People use PC's, and are aware of the plague of problems that come with it. People use consoles, and see the ease of use and high quality of console, and of course the much cheaper price. The sad thing is that it is not just customers who have realized what is happening, but the game publishers too. Less and less games will be available for PCs as time goes on. Game franchises, such as Diablo, have already announced that they are abandoning the PC platform, and moving to the consoles. Soon, there will be nothing left on PCs other then Minesweeper and Facebook games. Let us face it: PC gaming is dead.

Sure is /g/ in here.

For the first time in my 30 years of gaming I am starting to agree PC gaming is now truly on the decline and will be more so with these new systems.  Now if you would just add keyboard and mouse support (bluetooth would be nice) and MMO's I'll be perfectly happy not having to upgrade my monster machine anymore.  Also being disabled my computer chair gaming days are numbered if not already a thing of the past.
