Every thread arguing either side of this subject fails, because you can't convince either side (hermits and non-hermits) that the other has valid points. My advice to people with PC's is that you pay for porn and stay spyware/virus free rather than hitting up every 'free' site you can and screwing your OS over unless you know exactly what you are doing. Most games don't work well on PC because people don't understand drivers for your sound/video/MB and DX need updating, spywareand viruses slow your machine down, Norton will not protect you and is officially a useless resource hog and having 1 million programs launching at startup doesn't really save you time.

Sigh. You can hook up a PC to HD TV very easily - even more-so than a standard TV - to a HD TV.... As they all have VGA ports. Hell im buying a HD TV, and going to PC game on it.

Where I live I can rent PC games at Blockbuster, and a store called Game Traders. I can also trade in PC games there.

I can raise plenty of counter points, but i'll simply leave it at that.

i see a lot of 360 bashing from hermit and i am half hermit myself so i know what im talking about , so i challenge any hermit to explain how fast easy and painless it is to install half life 2 or tell me why i cant rent any pc game why minimum requirement mean you have to double it to get a decent frame rate or tell me how to use a computer in my livingroom on a standard tv without having 2 tv pluged in the same time , how fun it is to transport your pc to a friend house how you feel owned after two week your 500$ video card is obselete, how desperate you feel when your pc crash for no reason , i know pc offer more performance but it came with a price and to do good gaming you need a lot of knowledge and time to tune so hermit be less arrogant and respect console user some of us are really happy with console a way we cant acheive on a pc.and im am a french canadian living in a town where nobody speak english so dont attack my grammar attack the content.

Making things up now are we? You said a STANDARD TV in your post, but you know what? It doesn't even matter because a PC could do both--SDTVs and HDTVs. Did you read my VIVO comment?

1.)The adapter it comes with has COMPONENT VIDEO PLUGS, which means it will work on 720P and 1080i.

2.)Furthermore, if your HDTV has a HDMI plug, almost all the current graphics cards come with DVI to HDMI adapter, in fact, they might even come with 2 of them.

3.) Almost ALL HDTVs come with VGA PLUGS which means you could run your PC on a HDTV very easily. Some even have DVI plugs.

Its just when people spout stupid misconceptions (Cant hook up to a TV, console online is better - because -, consoles are more 'powerful', PC hardware is obsolete in months - let alone a year, PC gaming costs a fourtune) ect. ect. ect.

Its just that - what TC has proved, gets PC gamers involved in one of these long winded arguments, where PC gamers end up repeating what they have said many times before.....

Okay, leglo. Assuming your PC isn't a P.O.S and your HL2 is really taking long to install--here's my advice for you:

1.) Defrag your computer.
2.) Download any porn lately? Run AVG, NOD32, Hijackthis, Ad-Aware, Spybot, etc.
3.) Run a CHKDSK /F /R

Got PROOF 12% of Bioshock was bought on PC...? That isnt even counting Digital Distribution over D2D and Steam (which has 13 million users)...

everithing i say in my post is truth yes you can hook up a standard tv on a pc but you cant read easy has a hd tv and you dodge the fact that you cant rent a pc game or exchange it easyli as a console game.legol1

Like the above statements, your entire post has been dissproved time and again. Quite frankly, I'm suprised you had the motivation to post.

What's been disproven? That computer's have more technical issues? They do and then there's a lot more trubleshooting. Also, you cannot rent pc games. Also, it's true that playing PC games is getting more annoying in that developers are using systems such as steam. You can't even play single player pc games with no internet connection. Both consoles and PC's have advantages in gaming. Seems like hermits could at least realize that. I game on both.

You cant read the text because of the fonts you are using. Change the fonts to something that works with your TV and increase the size if they are too small. Note that this is only a problem if youre using S-Video or RCA and its generally not a problem in video games since many (especially ports) use TV compatible fonts. Lastly, make sure you dont use really long cables since the quality gets worse with RCA and S-Video over longer wire distances.

PC rentals has been tried in the past. The problem with renting PC games is actually people like you. They get a game, cant figure out how to install it &/or it doesnt run as well as they like so what did those people do? They went back to the RENTAL store to complain of course and to get their money back. After a while, PC rentals went away because they were too big of a hassle due to the number or morons with PC's. Pirating is actually not that big of a deal since pirates can pirate everything anyway including console games.

As far as exchanges go. 1 word. Ebay. It cant get any easier than ebay and you will get a lot more money for your items than any store will ever offer. If youre too young ask your guardian to help.

• It actually is pretty easy to install Half Life 2. Install Steam, put in the disk, voila.
• You can't rent a PC game because people copy the disks and get the game pretty much for $5
• Transporting to your friends house? We're called Hermits for a reason lol
• Well I've had my 8800GTX since February and still nothing has come along to challenge it or beaten it performance wise so I feel great.
• How desperate do you feel when you get the RRoD. BTW my computers crashed maybe once, can't say the same about my Xbox

Heh my 360 screws up WAAAY more than my PC.

I was playing Burnout Revenge today and got 2 wonderful disk read errors, even though I had cleaned the disk, and gone over it with a microfibre cloth.

It is even more frustrating when you do the same road rage event twice, and get an perfect rating - only to get a disk read error both times.
