I have had a Steam account for many years now. Every year Steam has big sales at the end of the year, which is great but for one thing. It is mostly the same damn games every year, year after year. Aside from the odd multiplat game or obscure indie game that shows up from time to time, there is not a whole lot that is new. Steam is stuck in a rut and i dont see things getting any better. My Steam library is getting rather "old". Will things get more exciting for PC games this year?

Then go read a book. Reading is way better than video games.

No PC's glory years are long gone. It's all about those consoles now. It's sad when people with a titan can't get great performance out of many multiplat games these days.

If your Steam account is getting old, then it is because you aren't buying new games and that's nobody's fault but yours.

Judging by your previous posts in these forums and that you feel the need to make a post of this nature on System Wars, I dont believe you are a PC gamer.

Posts like: "You can play your Rome or Civilization games and leave me the **** alone while i play my Last of Us or Uncharted, M'kay?" or "I would personally take a PS4 over upgrading my pc. There just are not enough cool new exclusive games coming to PC. I have a nice gaming pc with a GTX680. I dont feel the need to upgrade it because i rarely play games on it. I have a full Steam account with a bunch of games, but it just does not excite me like my PS4."

-PS4 and its tiny selection of games are so exciting against your FULL(?) Steam account... You sound like a fakeboy to me.

...WTF is a FULL Steam account?

Still butthurt KZSF is graphics king while you're still playing uprezed 360 ports? LMFAO!

BTW GTA5 was a lot of fun. I'm sure that new WoW expansion pack will hold you over until star citizen comes out in 2018 LMFAO!

KZSF graphic king? Seems like cows will say that to any game they think looks good. And is that the only thing you can even praise it for good graphics but nothing else to show for it. Wonder how long before its MP goes completely F2P.

GTA 5 seems like the only game you guys are clinging on about which I already played and I'm certain those who haven't will get to play it before star Citizen is released oh yea did you not know that we can play the alpha before the final game is released?

WoW expansion will probably be more relevant than KZSF that's for sure

AC4.

True. I get 20 fps in Nassau with a 7950 OC on MEDIUM.

Ubisoft Kiev didn't bother adding basic multicore cpu support. One core is at 100% usage the others are barely touched.

That game is one of the biggest FU to their customers in the last few years.

But hardcore hermits don't care, they'll just blame themselves for their puny hardware and keep buyin that crap day-one.

Meanwhile, AC4 runs flawlessly on the ps4 with nearly identical Ultra settings.

One game? Isnt it a physx game? Physx usually destroys performance and is always unnecessary.

Just one off the top of my head. I have a 780Ti and I get 30FPS at 1080p with everything maxed. I haven't tried it again with the latest drivers though so they may of improved it somewhat.

Either you're full of shit or your processor is bottlenecking you HARD. I play on a GTX 760 which isn't much more powerful than a 7950 and I can run the game with FXAA on and everything else maxed and get an average of 40 (never dipping below 30) in Nassau. This video doesn't back up your ridiculous claim either: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPxotWk0QQo

Last month, we had the pleasure to interview Ubisoft who confirmed that Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag would be better optimized on the PC than its predecessor. As Ubisoft claimed, the scheduler used for the rendering was ‘rewritten from the ground up and in AC4, the engine will use all the cores it needs until it sees that using more cores brings no more gain.’ Well, it appears that information was incorrect as Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is plagued by performance issues and runs identical on tricore and quadcore CPUs. Not only that but the performance difference between a dualcore and a quadcore is around 5fps at best.

Funny, my PS3's only use these days are as a Blu Ray player, and I have no interest in buying a PS4 anytime soon. On the flip side, all I've been playing is SC2 on PC these days. Watch streams on Twitch, I guarantee you're going to find some obscure title that might be worth a purchase.

Those 16 bit indies flooding the Steam store will run any console gamers out of the platform. The standard is just too low on the PC. Only remedy for AAA gaming is from console ports.

Yes I probably have a weaker cpu than you so I get 10 fps less than you. 20fps I mentioned is obviously not average but the lowest dip.

That is when I tried MEDIUM plus AA 4x. Can't play with less than that AA and that was with day-one version (1.0 I think).

Idk about recent development, as I got my money back. The only way I could play it was on minimum no AA and still couldn't get steady 60fps.

How can you play with FXAA is beyond me, your game must be a jaggy mess.

Still looks worse than the ps4 version, performs worse, and on much more powerful hardware.

As I said and clyde confirmed with his link the game is not optimized for s*** for multicore support.

So basically Ubisoft (esp. Kiev division) not only doesn't give a c*** about their customers but outright lies to them.

KZ got beaten by a fuckin' X1 game Ryse. Crytek's most unimpressive game still managed to beat your precious exclusive LMFAO! Wake me up when any PS4 exclusive is able to compete with Crysis 2 from 2011.

Cows are butthurt that even Ryse managed to beat Crapzone: Shadow Fail. I mean who saw it coming, a game like Ryse....LMFAO. And the cows were totuting Crapzone to be better than Crysis 3 when in reality it can't even touch Crysis 2. Feel so good to rub it in their faces.

No PC's glory years are long gone. It's all about those consoles now. It's sad when people with a titan can't get great performance out of many multiplat games these days.

What glory days? PC gaming is better than ever and more popular than ever.

What games are Titans struggling on?

AC4.

game is locked at 60 on my rig with everything maxed.

AC4.

But keep trolling bro.

Not only that but the performance difference between a dualcore and a quadcore is around 5fps at best.

http://www.dsogaming.com/pc-performance-analyses/assassins-creed-iv-black-flag-pc-performance-analysis/

"Before continuing, let us tell you that the aforementioned system – despite the awful port that Ubisoft offered us – runs the game better than PS4 and Xbox One. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag ran with 30-60fps with max settings at 1080p on our test system. The game, on the other hand, runs with a 30fps lock on next-gen consoles (and looks inferior due to its lower AA settings). Obviously, our old Q9650 is able to run the game better than next-gen consoles, so keep in that in mind while reading the rest of our article."

Taken from the same article you are linking. So it runs better than console but not up to PC standards. I'm not seeing how it's "struggling" on PC.

With a GTX690(or equivalent) just to achieve 30 fps minimum maxed. That's like 5% of pc players?

For the rest it'll look on par or worse than the ps4 version. Hell, mine looked worse than the XB1's.

If that's not "struggling" I don't know what is.

TS just aren't worthy of being pc gamer, let him go, pc gaming has never been better with all those glorious pc centric games, indie games, kickstarter/crowdfunded games... all those mainstream games can just go to consoles, I can't be bothered with almost all of them.

Well if you think there's a lack of good games on PC, console games must be like torture to you. New, good games appear so rarely that it almost makes one want to donate money to support the poor console developers or something.

Maybe we should launch a kickstarter for console gaming: "give money to encourage the development of more good games on consoles".

Why go for a site with an overclocked C2Q and a GTX690 for benchmarking when there are other sites that do better?

LOL what? even a low end GPU like the HD7850 play AC4 with similar performance and graphics settings like the PS4.

Most of the big pc games are not on steam now.... there are competitors to steam, or publishers/developers that feel they do not benefit from steam.

Steam is NOT all of PC gaming.

idiot.

by that logic consoles are dead. because they get one great game every 6 months and barely anything else .... and are paying £50 per one.

Millerpeasant mentioning TiTan even though titan is not even a dedicated gaming card... and there are better cards... for much cheaper (or at least around equal performance).

go back to your waitstation and xjuan.
