PC gaming is a pain in the ass.....

Pc gaming is for people with far too much time and money on there hands, i think now that consoles are catching up to pc's it makes no sense to not have a console, they are much more simple and straight forward, less expensive to keep up to date. Consoles you just plug in and play.

I recently made a thread asking what pc exclusives are out there to see if i was missing out, and all you dudes are so used to trolling each other that you thought i was trolling, but i was genuinely interested. Some dude said the thread is in the wrong forum so i must be trolling, well i can see plenty of other pc threads in this biatch!!

Any the few pc exclusives that were mentioned looked mediocre to say the least.

Console gaming is where its at.

My main reason for gaming on PC

- Most games are multiplats. Most of the best games are multipats. PC gets the best versions of multiplats.... profit? Yes. I don't have to settle for a 2nd rate version of most games.

On top having the most games and the best version of most games right off the bat, I also get to enjoy these games to the fullest with my choice of controller and with mods to keep on improving an already better experience.

I can't say this about any of the consoles I own. That's why these consoles must justify their worth to me via exclusives. Yeah, I'm sure some hermit will argue about superior PC exclusives, good for them. To me, that's not even the point. I already know it's the best gaming platform, it's not even a fair fight. Even if the PC had zero exclusives it wouldn't matter lmao. I mean what? Between my PS4 and WiiU I might see 4 or 5 worthwhile exclusives this year if I'm lucky? Am I supposed to play 2nd rate versions of multiplats for the rest of the time between? Nope. You can if you want to. Won't bother me a bit. Just don't hate on me because I can afford a superior gaming experience.

Clearly the exclusives available on PC aren't for you. There's nothing wrong with that; just play the games on your preferred platform and stop shitposting for attention.

I got a good laugh out of consoles catching up to pc. The 8th gen took a step back compared to previous gens when it comes to comparing to pc.

One thing though, i have some stipulations:

1. It has to be fairly current, high end kepler to maxwell gen GPU
2. Needs to have a modern/high end CPU, high end 3rd Gen or 4th gen i5/17 etc.

With a PC it's different. Firstly if you don't build your pc you are getting ripped off, so you gotta build it. Then you gotta install Windows, then you gotta install drivers, then you gotta install the games and tinker with their graphics settings until you find just the right balance. Then you have to maintain it, overclock and upgrade as your hardware gets weaker and games become more demanding.

With an Xbox or ps4 you buy it, plug it in, power on, pop in game and press A until it's ready.

Console gaming will always be more accessible and simplistic than pc gaming, even though pc gaming has come so far and is easier than ever to get into.

PC and console gamer here, anyone who chooses one platform and ignores the rest is a silly gamer anyhow.

• Windows installation is so easy these days a toddler could do it, in fact even a consolite could do it.
• Drivers are usually automatically installed through Windows Update or you'll be prompted for driver updates (like console system updates) provided the device in question is connected to the net. Games are just as easy to install on PC as they are on console.
• As for graphics tinkering, that can be done if you want to squeeze the absolute most performance out of your system, but a lot of games these days are pretty good adjusting the game to recommended settings based on your specs, also there are programs like Geforce experience that can also adjust your graphics settings in all games at the touch of a single button.

I spent $350 on my current PC, had it for nearly 3 years after 5 years without upgrading, I can play 90% of multiplats and have to pay no online fees while also being able to customize and optimize the game to my heart's content

I have yet to have a reason to spend money on a console

@Crypt_mx: You should consider that maybe, just maybe... Not everyone can afford every single platform, the reason I went PC is because of how overpriced consoles and their games are

That's more convenient/straightforward for sure. And I'm not denying that setting up a console is more straight forward than building your own PC and installing all software.

What I am denying though is the plug and play aspect. When I bought a console in the old days, it was plug and play. Nowadays consoles are not plug and play.

Downloading and installing a game on my PC takes about 5-10 minutes. Installing MGS IV (just installing, no downloading at all) takes over 8 minutes !!! How is that plug and play ? How ?!

I love tinkering with my graphics. I love that I can turn off Blur, Depth of Field, Lens Flares, Excessive Bloom and any other graphical features I don't like. I wish my consoles games allowed me to do that. I really do.

You know, it's all just trolling in the end, but i've noticed.

- When herms make anti-console troll threads, it's about pc having mods, superior versions of multiplat games, bigger library, more AA/AAA rated exclusives on GS and MC, having backwards compatibilty, etc

- When cows/lems make anti-pc troll threads, it's about "mah couch and TV", "PC too difficult", "much drivers", "have fun waiting for GTA 5", "LOL pc doesn't have red dead redemption", "MAH 200 GOTY AWARDS"

Yeah it's way better to wait a few years to get a console and then get the revised model and the games for cheaper.

Getting a console on launch means:

- You pay more for the hardware

- You get a system that is more prone to hardware faults

- You pay more for the games

- There are barely any games to play on the system yet

It's easy to get won over by the Hype that MS and Sony spend billions on. But I got a 360 near launch that RROD'ed and I swore: Never again.

@Snugenz: I honestly disagree with a lot of what you said. To me, it sounds like you really love pc gaming and are trying to over simplify it when it's just not the case.

1) I never said installing Windows was hard, it's just one of the many extra steps required to set up a gaming PC.

2) Windows update rarely updates it to the newest and most important driver. If you're buying a brand new graphics card for a brand new game, you're going to want to make sure you get the right one downloaded as Windows has given me ancient drivers a couple of times.

Games install pretty much the same way on consoles but again, there's another layer of things to do. Unlike console gaming you have to find the appropriate gaming platform (steam, origin, Games for Windows, u play, etc) and then download your game (after you've downloaded that platform) which is slightly different.

3)absolutely no pc games are good at guessing the recommended settings and the Geforce experience can be just as random through my experience. If you want ideal and optimal settings, you have to tinker.

And that's my point, PCs have a lot of steps and tinkering involved vs consoles.
