You know, it's all just trolling in the end, but i've noticed.

- When herms make anti-console troll threads, it's about pc having mods, superior versions of multiplat games, bigger library, more AA/AAA rated exclusives on GS and MC, having backwards compatibilty, etc

- When cows/lems make anti-pc troll threads, it's about "mah couch and TV", "PC too difficult", "much drivers", "have fun waiting for GTA 5", "LOL pc doesn't have red dead redemption", "MAH 200 GOTY AWARDS"

Yes, I also noticed that. I've been here for a long time now and I've seen many console fanboys use recycled arguments.

Though let's not forget the elitist PC gamers that continually say stuff like "kiddie games" "zero thought required" "dumbed down experiences"... Which also get recycled a lot.

And let's not forget my favourite anti-PC argument: "Look at these 3/6 systems that beat out the PC library easily" hahahahahahahahaha

@roler42: I never said everyone should get every single console. It's just silly when you only stand by one while there's plenty of other great stuff out there.

@Crypt_mx: You're points still don't make sense here.

Windows and driver installation are vastly more simple than assembling the computer itself. Besides, Windows installation is a 1 time deal and drivers are no different than any other update you do a normal pc.

Finally, the settings menu point doesn't make much sense either. If you don't want to mess with them, then don't.

Assuming you're running a relatively recent GPU (read: not a 500 series from NVIDIA), the default settings will be more fine. They're ususally around high, at 1080p.

If you wish to increase the quality and turn on special effects the game might have, that requires abit of time to find the right ones for you set up. But those max/special settings aren't available on consoles either.

Yes, nobody denies that's it's has simple and easy has a console, but installing windows, the recent drivers, steam, origin and uplay is a few minutes. After that just download and intall the game you wish, pres play, don't touch the menus, and go. If you want to play with a controller, plug an xbox pad in.

Well, i guess that if there's still GFWL or Securom, theeeeeeeeeeeeen..........yeah

@Snugenz: I honestly disagree with a lot of what you said. To me, it sounds like you really love pc gaming and are trying to over simplify it when it's just not the case.

1) I never said installing Windows was hard, it's just one of the many extra steps required to set up a gaming PC.

2) Windows update rarely updates it to the newest and most important driver. If you're buying a brand new graphics card for a brand new game, you're going to want to make sure you get the right one downloaded as Windows has given me ancient drivers a couple of times.

Games install pretty much the same way on consoles but again, there's another layer of things to do. Unlike console gaming you have to find the appropriate gaming platform (steam, origin, Games for Windows, u play, etc) and then download your game (after you've downloaded that platform) which is slightly different.

3)absolutely no pc games are good at guessing the recommended settings and the Geforce experience can be just as random through my experience. If you want ideal and optimal settings, you have to tinker.

And that's my point, PCs have a lot of steps and tinkering involved vs consoles.

I may be oversimplifying but with respect you're also overcomplicating the issues. Windows Update takes care of chipset/sound card drivers for the most part, sure it's not always idea and in rare enough cases you'll have to hunt down a better driver, but these days, those occurances are rare. GPU driver updates are always prompted by the GPU software, Geforce XP, or Catalyst Control etc.

As for services, they're no more complicated than buying digitally off PSN, eShop or XBL. The only ones that are even a fraction more complicated are obscure services like Capsule or the old GFWL (which is gone now), there's another one, think it's called Glyph that a MMO publisher uses but that's really really obscure.

P.S. I do really "love" PC gaming, but i also own and enjoy all 3 current gen consoles so i'm not blinded by that "love".

@R4gn4r0k: Oh yeah, the "kiddie stuff".

True. But my point was ostly about how console gamers never troll pc with actual features consoles have against pc. The ability to trade, rent and borrow is one of them. But they barely ever meantion stuff like this anyway

@deadline-zero0: But what is the point of buying a pc if you aren't even going to use it? Seriously man, what your describing is someone who knows nothing about their pc and just games on it because someone said it was superior.

Why on earth would I build a more expensive pc, go through the whole process and not use the settings that it is capable of. No you're absolutely wrong, I've been pc gaming for many years and the settings that come with the game are never good enough, they are usually no where close.

Driver and Windows installation are simple I never said they weren't. But they are extra things that consoles simply.

Anyway I won't argue with you anymore, I have both new consoles and a modest gaming PC that I enjoy all the same. It doesn't change the fact that pc gaming is more complex and based around tickering than consoles are, consoles are far easier to use and much more convenient for the average consumer. Enthusiasts will always love their PCs but I find myself somewhere in the middle.

@R4gn4r0k: and it's awesome that you love all the tinkering with the settings, that's the type of person who should build a pc.

But for the average consumer it's a lot to learn, yes it's come a long way and is easier than ever, but consoles are still a lot of people's choices for a good reason. They offer great games, quality content and a simple and easy way to game, even if it's not exactly plug in and play.

@ariabed:

you mean console gaming is for people who just aren't smart enough to put together a desktop pc themselves? (which is ridiculously easy now)..
You're just too dumb to figure it out bro!

Agreed, there are way better arguments than what some people here bring up. PC is a loooong way from being a perfect gaming system. In fact there is no such thing, so it's fun to discuss actual arguments on these forums.

Like how GFWL was supposed to go down and take all of the games down with it. That's an argument vs PC gaming... lol

True that. I mean I don't understand some of graphical features these days without googling them :P

"Hmmm... Should I leave this on or off ? Let's do a quick google search" even happened today when tinkering with the settings in Homeworld Remastered.

Yes, console gaming offers a kind of easiness that a lot of people want from gaming. For me there is indeed a place for both console gaming and PC gaming to co-exist.

But also, if you have more than a regular interest in gaming. I don't see how you could hate PC and hate the abundance of options and customization it offers like some people do on these forums.

How come there are always loads of PC hate threads every time an anticipated console game flops or PC gets something good?

Another Anti-PC thread without citation or links, all opinions.

Meanwhile Pro-PC arguements don't bash consoles, rather they just post data showing how PC is dominating.

I love it. First place ftw.

If you want to make a thread you have to have more than your rants. Its has to be something worthwhile to actually discuss (not just you giving your opinion), otherwise use your blog.
