You're suggesting lack of exclusives over an arbitrary 90% makes PC's successful software revenue a mystery. But that's stupid. The most played games on the planet are currently PC exclusives or PC designed. One or more of those games going to consoles doesn't hurt PCs revenue. It isn't in competition with consoles.

It means over 9.0 at Metacritic. But some of the most played/revenue games are 8.0-8.9 at MC. The ones that are 9.0+ and high revenue aren't exclusive. His theory is completely made up.

And Metacritic also shows PC is, by far, first place this gen with over 100 video games. Several of the video games giving PC it's first place revenue scored 7.5-8.9.

You're entire point, that PC shouldn't have high revenue due to having low "must play" games at MC has no actual back up data. Do you have a source showing MC's "must play" exclusives drive revenue, rather than 8.0-8.9 exclusives or 9.0+ multiplats? Do you have a source that PC losing exclusives results in any major lost revenue? Like Divinity 2, did it do worse due to this? Or Overwatch?

Game reviews aren't your boremeter, because PC is first place at GS and MC for game high scoring game reviews this gen. It has 100 more at MC and 80 more here vs the second best system. At GS this includes AAAs. At MC this sadly does not include AAAs, because several AAs on PC are actually AAA on console - they get lower scores due to not having dedicated magazines. GS fixes that issue.

That isn't weird at all though. Exclusives getting over a 9.0 at MC alone has never driven PC's revenue or popularity. You thinking it's unusual doesn't make it unusual, your opinion in this matter is objectively wrong. Maybe that's a thing on consoles, but NOT PC.

PC had PUBG last year that sold over 20 million units and regularly hit 1+ million concurrent users, and won awards for best multiplayer game and game of the year in 2017

it only came to Game Preview in december and didn't have all the features of the PC version, and was a performance nightmare. The awards were granted to the PC version, it was a "must play" for the PC last year

Web browser games are popular. Kantai Collection aka KanColle and Granblue Fantasy for example.

Rhythm games, Visual Novels and VRChat on PC also I'd say popular in Japan.

Consoles should follow suit.

Children and Parents should be held accountable for what they purchase based on research and ratings, like any other damn industry. Not forced Exclusion from entire platforms. Gaming is not just for kids.

This cancerous website gave League of Legends a 6 ... which until this year was the most played game ever. Gave DoTA a 9 because it was more trendy a few years later. Critics, much like you cows, are stuck in the past.... with the same handful of 3rd person action games

I mean even if we do go by the old GS meta game, PC is by far first place by the actual rules we used.

@kali-b1rd: Actually, the most played games for years have been CrossFire and Dungeon Fighter, which are Korean PC games that are huge in Asia (especially China) but largely unknown in the West... Nevertheless, the point still stands that top PC games have way more players than top console games.
