My other point, of course, is that you don't need to spend top-dollar to maintain a viable gaming rig. If you shop smart then you can easily put something together that costs about as much as newest console but with vastly superior hardware specs. And then from there you can keep it reasonably up to date with upgrades every several years for far less than what it will cost the average console gamer to upgrade to the latest and greatest "next generation" PlayBox.

that might be true, but the bottom line is the cost of consoles is not a selling point given the fact that consoles and PCs are extreemly different.

its like comparing a Yoga to a Porche and saying the Yoga is better because its cheaper.

Look, all I'm doing here is busting the myth that PC gaming is vastly more expensive than console gaming. The reality is that if you're smart, it can actually be less expensive in the long run, and you get a vastly superior gaming experience.

Yeah, the anti-PC crowd really needs to let go of the whole cost argument.

As for cheaper in the long wrong, that's debatable. I will say that I probably spend about 20 dollars average for games, while console games tend to stay pretty high priced.

Come on you guys...

That's not true and if you are pc gamers you know it's not...

The ps4 came out in 2013 for 400 euros.

Then the ps4 pro came out in 2017 for another 400 euros.

If you bought both, that's 800 euros.

If the ps5 comes out in 2020, that's 800 euros in hardware in 8 years.

If you started form scratch on a pc build and had 800 euros to spend in 8 years do you think you would be gaming the top aaa games from those 8 years with only that fixed budget?

Let's see today.

An i3 8300 that is a low end pc cpu, plus a low end b360 board, ram, a case and psu is 450 euros here.

And then you need a controller. An Xbox one controller is another 50. Add even just an hdd and another 50.

So you are 550 and don't have a gpu yet.

So that leaves 250 euros for a gpu.

250 can get you either a rx580 4gb or a 1060 3gb...

And there goes 800 euros.

How do you think a system with an i3 and a 1060 can last 8 years? No way. I know it and you know it.

Pc gaming is better, but is is also very muck more expensive than ps4 gaming.

Cheers

I am on PC gaming, but I still prefer console gaming due the games on consoles are more developed and easier to understand to play, the only problem PC gaming some of its games has lost its edge than console gaming...what I am asking where is good game developers that showcase the true power of PC gaming not it's graphics side but artistic and gameplay wise games like earlier version of Witcher series or other games now they are entering console side man I prefer that era than this era we are just talking spec this spec that with no gameplay experience to tell....adding concept to that those having elitism though like PC Master race (or darker side like "e" thing/ streaming that can make exclusive games to be multiplatform) well whatever about money to be used ....I prefer experience than cost.....due I feel the true gaming is on how you play and make memories on it than using money to show off other you best gaming setup + best setting or graphics that can easily forget
