I will be honest here last year i was deciding on whether i should upgrade my computer or buy a 360 and in the end i chose to buy a 360. Why? Well for starters i knew that i was buying a system that will be good for at least 5 years whereas if i upgraded a PC i knew that in about 2 years i would need to upgrade again to play the latest games. Also i have realised that with a controller in my hand rather than a mouse and keyboard that i can relax on the sofa and also play with my friends....can i do this with a PC? Nope i need to have both my hands occupied at all times to move and shoot and i need to be sat up in an uncomfortable chair not being able to relax like i can with a controller on a sofa. I am NOT nitpicking because for the average gamer i think that this will come into their decision why buying a gaming rig. Plus with all the AMAZING games coming out for the 360 i think i definately made the right decision.

PC gaming just will never become too popular other than a couple of exceptions like The Sims and WoW.

True, I agree. PC is just not worth it most of the time. Its not worth the hassle and money. Sure once in a while an amazing looking game releases on it, like Crysis, but thats it. 360 in my opinion, and consoles in general are more fun.

Yeah but so is the 360 and PS3. Only one reaching the mass market is Wii.

Yea and really the only things keeping PC gaming alive is the MMOs like WOW. The Sims isnt as popular as it used to be though. I mean there is also Counter-strike, but that game hasnt changed since it was made. Just graphical updates.

the only reason I still pc game is because I need an upto date pc anyway, and spending $100 on a GFX card now and then doesn't hurt my wallet.

Not true. WoW is currently the only MMO worth mentioning. There is also guildwars, the distant runner up, and that's about it. There are alot obsucre MMO's, but they are really not worth mentioning as they only occupy the hardcore.

PC gaming is a whole lot more than MMO's and counter strike. You should look into it a little more and you'll find a pletora of genres that don't even exist on consoles.

Actually, you'd be suprised how casual the PC is. Look at Minesweeper and Solitaire, Zuma and Dinner Dash. And I'm not trying to be sarcastic. If you think PS3 and X360 are mass market, you've got to start taking marketing classes kid.

The PC isn't too hard to get into for the casual. It's actually pretty hard for the hardcore. I can play casual games on the PC for the price of a Wii. But i'd have to pay at least $1,200 to play with the big boys.

And as mentioned earlier, Sims and Wow just owned everything casual on other systems.

It's not that pricey to play with "the big boys" these days you can upgrade your pc for the price of a ps3 into a dx10 gaming powerhouse.

More WoW bashing ... I'd like to see half of these so called console RPG fans try and get anywhere in world of warcraft, time-sink aside it requires heavy discipline and teamwork / awareness ...

Something void in nearly every single JRPG ever created.

I can find a few thousand servers just for IL2:Sturmovik in Hyperlobby. And that's a VERY niche product. PC gaming is far more popular world-wide than console gaming. The console gaming market is actually rather limited.

I don't get peoples' propensity to mess up raid bosses. I mean, most of the time its logical set ups. Like with Archimonde. Fire = bad. Fire = really really bad. Fire = don't stand in me.

dude I agree with both him, and you. I ended an account with a 70 warrior, 63 mage, and 52 lock because once you hit 70 it is worthless. I don't have time for 8-10 hr instances and chain quests for gear, and the fact that they are soon releasing another expansion with an 80 cap burns me up more. It already takes alot of time to 60-70. I don't want to even think about 70-80. I have no use for WoW anymore. I think it is a huge waste of time that I could spend on other games, and other stuff.

To the TC more people play cs online in a month than the 360 and ps3 put together for a year. So the pc is mass market already many people have pc but no gaming console so that's what they game on.

 Haha yea, I was expecting something abit more epic ... but after watching it ... just a giant drenai spawning fire ... pretty pathetic , something I would of expected from early raid designs like Molten Core's ... *mind block*.

Depends what you're starting from, of course. But I must say, we should just give up on the price argument really. PC gaming is expensive. It may not be as expensive as some console fanboys think, but it is pricey. My take on it is, as it's always been. You get what you pay for. I mean, you can't edit, surf, burn, watch, listen, write, chat ALL at the same time with any other platform.

And even if you could upgrade to killa-mofo-rig with a price of PS3, the PS3 ain't that cheap. But at least the PC's worth it. *flame shield on*

RTS's, TBS's? All the best games are for the PC in those genres.. Not to mention freeform RPG's which the PC still has the best of. Even the genres out there that are in competition for both platforms, the pc still wins due to better graphics and a moddign community that can fundamentally change the game.

The point most PC fanboys do not realise is that 90% of PC games do not sell enough to make even a small profit. Steam which is the largest distribution veichile on the internet has tons of users yet struggles to make serious profit. Like it or not the gaming industry is dictated by sales and the fact is that the vast majority of PC games fall short in that department which puts companies off developing for the platform. Of course there are exceptions but there are too few exceptions to make it successfull. Casual games are relitively successfull but hardcore games have it a lot worse whereas on consoles like the 360 or PS3 if these games are good they will more than likely sell well.

Unfortunatly in this bizzare day and age, most pc games are to conflict with console equivilant with a lack of fairness. There still are very unique factors to a pc that makes online games like WoW and strategy games like Total war only possible on that machine. And thats a fact!

The only reason I dont PC game much is because I prefer to sit on a sofa with wireless controls than to sit at a desk with a mouse/keyboard and monitor all cramped onto 1 or 2 shelves. Although when games work on my laptop i'm a happy bunny :)

Hmm what? What about First Person Shooters? PCs have the most highly rated first person shooters ou thtere.. Not to mention They are getting both Bioshock and Call of Duty 4, on top of the exclusive Crysis.. I fail to see how this does not compete with consoles in this genre :|

Yeah you know just enough profits to afford the immense improvements on Steam, make episode 2, Team Fortress 2 and Portals on multiplatform at affordable prices.:|

More WoW bashing ... I'd like to see half of these so called console RPG fans try and get anywhere in world of warcraft, time-sink aside it requires heavy discipline and teamwork / awareness ...

Something void in nearly every single JRPG ever created.

heavy discipline and team-work? u can solo the entire game if you want, dont even get me satrted. a game like ffxi you are in parties from the time you start to the time you quit, not to mention dying a LOT along the way. anway, sims is on consoles too, and wow is just something that people with no lives play, pssh getting 70 is a big waste of time

Please stop argueing whether WoW is a good game or not on personal tastes.. I am not fond of it either, but the point was to show that a single game alone has sold nearly sold more then the Xbox360 and its only growing in popularity.. I think this example alone shows that it is mass market.

The only reason I dont PC game much is because I prefer to sit on a sofa with wireless controls than to sit at a desk with a mouse/keyboard and monitor all cramped onto 1 or 2 shelves. Although when games work on my laptop i'm a happy bunny :)O_OdazX_X

So use a wireless gamepad on your pc and hook it up to your hdtv then problem solved and all it took was a couple of minutes.
