That actually doesn't help this type of debate a whole lot.

I agree with you. TC, you aren't giving any reason to say why pc gaming isn't dead.

In all honesty, PC gaming isn't dead. We just get crappy ports.

PC gaming peaked in 2004 and hasn't peaked since.

But it's not dead - hardly. I still prefer to play on my PC over my PS3, for example.

BF2 made 2005 a good year for it. I will assume someone(s) will post after me describing what made years after good.

2005 was the beginning of the end, but yeah, 2005 was still a good year. 2004 had a few more memorable releases up its sleeve, though.

I'm actually not hyped for any of Blizzard's games other than Cataclysm, which will undoubtedly have a much bigger impact on gaming that either SC2 or Diablo 3.

I'd say it's more like 1998-2001: Half-Life, Quake 3 Arena, Thief 2, Deus Ex, System Shock 2, Max Payne... that wasn't just PC gaming peaking, that was a peak so high that no platform, PC or console, will ever reach it again.

PC gaming and console gaming are not going anywhere. People have been claiming the opposite for decades now, and they have been wrong for decades.

And are ignored at large except in the MMO and RTS departments.

And the puzzle games, and the CRPGs, and the WRPG's, and the FPS, and the Indie games, etc. You get the idea.

Anyone else sick of these "PC gaming is/isnt dead" threads? It makes me wonder if the topic creators even own a gaming PC. Mods should just automatically lock these threads.
