PC Gaming makes me laugh on system wars

Seriously the amount of BS that is thrown at the PC is more then a sewage system. The rules completely change when PC is involved. I choose the top 5 things I find funny about PC gaming.

1) Graphics

Wii graphics are bad, Xenon > Cell, Cell > Xenon. Games will be better on 360 because its more powerful, no 360 will hold games back because it doesn't have Cell.

What happens when PC comes into play...

Console gamers brag about graphics being one of the most integral parts to praise of their system. Like wise they put down other consoles for having inferior graphics and or looking games. Yet when PC gets involved graphics don't matter. For instance, Killzone 2 is going to be amazing. Its graphics will live up to the trailer and so will the gameplay. Crysis? That game is nothing but graphics its gameplay will won't be anything special.

2) Holding Back

Cows always claim 360 will eventually hold games back as it doesn't have Blu-Ray or isn't powerful enough.

What happens when PC comes into play...

They talk and talk about Blu-Ray being needed and such yet PC gaming doesn't need Blu-Ray. Oops.

3) Ratings, Exclusives, GS scores

AA, AAA, Exclusives and such. The Blood of system wars. Console fanboys always go on to say the system with the highest rated exclusive games is the best. Makes sense right. We are on GS so we use GS scores.

What happenes when PC comes into play...

PC obviously has the most AA, AAA, and exclusives so what happens? GS scores suddenly don't matter, popularity defines if a game is good, the genres PC is strongest in are called boring and stale, console gaming is better since "consoles" yes plural lol have better games then PC. It basically has to be a 3 on 1 match because no one console seems to stand up to the behemoth of PC gaming.

4) Controls

Arguments over controllers. The Wiimote is a gimmick, the Six-Axis has no rumble, the 360 controller has no motion sensing. All the time arguing and bickering over controllers what is best, the controls feel tacted on ext.

What happens when PC comes into play...

Apparently mouse and keyboard are horrible for gaming. It gives you cramps after constant use yet we as a society do all of our work from it and never complain about it when doing work, only gaming :roll: Lets not forget the fact that practically any last gen controller and yes the current gen controllers are all useable on the PC barring the Six-Axis to my knowledge.

5) Online gaming

PSN is free, XBL is superior, Wii friend codes are horrible, at least we don't have to pay.

What happens when PC comes into play...

Apparently people never knew PC online > Console online gaming. Wierd?

6) Price

Wii is only selling because of price, PS3 is expensive but you get what you pay for. All the hoop laabout HD-Gaming but how expensive PC gaming is.

What happens when PC comes into play...

PS3 owners claim that you get what you pay for that its worht the money seeing as what you get for your purchase. Hmmm why doesn't this logic apply to PC's? PC's help with music, photo's, movies, games, school, editing, movie making and anything else you can think of. Ah well I'm not paying $3000 for a PC :roll: PC gaming is so expensive yet all these guys with 360's and PS3's bragging about their HDTV's don't factor that in to the price of their console. Console + HDTV is just as expensive if not more then a PC.

My Thoughts

I never had a decent PC until college. I missed out on practically every FPS from Half-Life on but still got to play games like Starcraft, Warcraft and other clasics. I always laughed at Half-Life thinking Perfect Dark was the best in the genre, I always laughed at mouse and keyboard for FPS until I tried it. I always thought it was hard to learn but as I grew up I became more educated with things.

PC gaming is great. Not great enough for me to ever ditch my consoles but why we get so many, PC is dying, PC is crap, PC misconception thread #1,000,000,000 or whatever is beyond me. PC gaming is still amazing. It may not be your cup of tea but why people hate on this amazing platform is beyond me. Cows always make fun of lemmings and sheep saying you only hate PS3 because you can't afford it. Hmm so what do people with that mindset thing about PC gaming?

My deal with this statement here is that lack of Blu-Ray won't hold the PC back at all. Due to the fact that PC games are installed onto a storage medium that can offer way more storage capabilities than Blu-Ray, and not to mention that a nice SATA hard drive that runs at 15,000 RPMs is a lot faster than a Blu-Ray disc.

The problem with the Xbox 360 is that games can't be designed for installation to the HDD. Because Microsoft decided to release a verion of the console that lacks mass storage.  Meaning that DVD9 is it.

The reason why games that go PC to consoles are not a big deal is because of the support those games on the PC get from the developers and gamers in general. Look at games like Half Life 2 and Doom 3. They are simply better in all respects on the PC. I can't play Doom 3 on the Xbox knowing I don't have the duct tape mod.

Now I expect some hardcore console fanboys to lash out at this image I am about to post. But I'm just telling the truth here...(And I'm a fan of gaming on consoles too, I mean, who isn't?)

Gaming on the PC gives you the option of enjoying a lot of the games available on consoles. Racing games, RPGs, sports games like Madden and NBA Live...

But simulation games like Sim City 4, Tycoon City : New York, City Life, Railroads!, etc. Are not available on consoles.

as for the fear comment, its true, it is another reason to not own an overly expensive pc to play the same games. that doesnt mean the hermits are owned.

Well, games that are similar to CS : Source are available on consoles. But city building simulations and financial sims are not. Unless someone wants to consider those crappy versions of SimCity on the SNES. :lol:

I agree, i just got into PC gaming, its the way to go

I still love my 360

The price argument is really dumb in most cases.I got S.T.A.L.K.E.R for $40, and I think that's the retail price. And most new PC games are in the $50 price range. Why do the PC bashers never take into account the price of the software when they're out there screaming 'But, but the $4000 rig is needed!!!'. If I compare the purchases of games over a 2 year lifespan, it looks like this...

I get 20 Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 games at $60 a piece my total cost is... $1200

If I buy 20 PC games at $50 and a $200 video card every 2 years my price is...Get it?
