Poll PC gaming, more generous? (28 votes)

Pc gaming is more generous 93%
This is false, pc gaming is not more generous 25%

My friends, right now i'v been playing a video game title named "insurgency".
So far it has had several updates, adding new maps, new game modes and new weapons.

Then, when I look at Call Of Duty, a console focused franchise, It's charging a season pass, the price of a full retail game. along with built in micro-transactions for power boosts to make your Call Of Duty multiplayer man progress by doing less.

Battlefield, as it has progressed from pc gaming to console focused has become more and more monetized. It also not features micro-transactions, season pass and special editions. it is now an annual game with a price game almost 150% of your average pc title.

Would it be fantastical to suggest, in general, pc gaming, untouched by consoles, is more generous towards the consumer?

No one cares except you, Sniper.

It's not SNIPER though, he's too busy posting stuff about dicks and zero contributions on lostrib's wall.

I'm pretty sure it is him. At any rate, he's just as worthless as Sniper, so really, what's the difference?

You can understand what's he saying because he can speak proper English.

No.

It completely depends on the devs and publishers.

Has nothing to do with the PC specifically.

Then how come more PC centric franchises give you more bang for your buck?

What games do you speak of?

valve games

CS Go launched at $30 and has no campaign with dated graphics and sound fx.

Left 4 Dead left a lot to be desired in the content dept. Relying on mods for more content doesn't let them off the hook.

pretty sure CSGO on PC launched at $15

Anywho, this is about content updates and support

It was $15, he is talking out of his ass.. Furthermore after release, Valve has continually supported the title.. As for Left 4 Dead, there was tons of content and replayability due to the game modes, campaigns, and the randomness that occurred sometimes.. Hell in Left 4 Dead 2, Valve randomly, with a huge FREE update, not only released a whole new campaign but fully ported over every campaign of the original L4D in the game.

All I know is that my games on console work....maybe there are so many updates and support for PC games cause they don't work...I dunno.

It's not like games can't be patched or updated on consoles. Hell the MCC on X1 has like a 15GB day 1 patch.

So, again....it's up to game companies.

Pretty sure they're talking about adding content for free. The MCC 15GB patch is required for full function of the game because they didn't want to release it on two discs, not the same thing.

Also, releasing patches is faster and easier on PC versus consoles

As long as it gets done....I don't care.

It can't be all that much harder if games are constantly patched on console...and work.

Except for those times when they don't

But yes it takes longer to get patches on console, i believe that was one of the reasons valve killed cross-platform on CSGO

Obviously, PC gaming is for people that love gaming and the devs also love gaming.

Console dev is a soul less money grabbing parasite that takes advantage of foolish people.

So a 15GB day 1 patch is suddenly a good thing? You spin your bullshit any way you want, as long as it fits your agenda.

Funny how I didn't say it was good....but yet you spin it so that it sounds like I did....and then you say I spin shit.

Get off your high horse.

You are wrong. Titles like this are the very reason that PC gaming is more generous. When you go to steampowered.com and look at just the latest games to be released, it's easy to see that PC just destroys consoles.

I was considering getting an Xbox One again after having sold it to help pay certain bills. MCC looked great, but I've been trying to play fps games on my PC with a 360 controller, and I get owned so bad because I can't aim properly in a fire fight. I drop the controller and pick the kb up and rest my hand on the mouse and start to get more kills. This shows me that console fanboys are delusional for believing Bungie's lie that the controller is just as good as kb/m. I'm sorry, but it's not. PC is LOADS more generous than consoles.

By default, yes. But the term "generous" doesn't even coincide with the pc. Xbox, Playstation, and Nintendo are a brand. Pc is not a brand.

What I found out recently about Sony sort of bothered me. A lot of expensiver last gen peripherals, like arcade sticks and racing wheels, are not compatible with ps4 because a security protocol is in place. Things like this are troublesome. Microsoft has a, maybe(?), legit excuse as they are using an all new control configuration apparently.

You should have burned him on the Blizzard and Legend quip.. Blizzard games released massive updates in numerous games over the years with out having to buy anything.. WoW for instance completely redid the zones 1- 58 for free with out the need to purchase a expansion.. Starcraft 2 can be played for FREE in many areas including the fact it gives you access to EVERY USER MADE map that has been released.. MOBA's spawned from DOTA a WC3 user made map for crying out loud..

Even their older games like Diablo 2 they released updates years later that completely changed the game in multiple areas.. League of Legends has constantly changed their game (for free) with numerous gameplay changes to the point of seasons playing completely different.. In fact in a week or two they are releasing the completely redone Summoners Rift map for FREE.

There is no legitimate excuse for that... These systems are glorified pc's now with the same architects.. There is absolutely no reason why their last gen peripherals should not be able to work with their current gen, especially when they haven't changed their schemes at all more or less.. It's like the same bullshit with not being backwards compatible.. So they can shuffle out "remastered" versions of their last gen games with minimal effort at nearly full retail.

bro you wanna talk about monetization when all the most popular PC games are free 2 play? Pay for skins, pay for colors, pay for more space in inventory, pay for everything.

Herms always preaching about morality in their underwear and glass houses.

Or you could just you know not play those games or even pay to buy stuff. At least PC gamers don't have to pay to use their online to play online.

It all depends on the developer and publisher

Most of the big name companies will say that you won't get any special bells and whistles that make the PC version objectively better, whereas PC is much more financially feasible for smaller devs who can't afford to spend money on updating their games on consoles.
