You're not a PC gamer, and you try to bash a system you have barely used?

Typical consolite arguments. Jesus, where are the GOOD console fanboys?

rolo107

So a PC gamer that isn't a console gamer can insult Consoles without worry but if you are a console gamer insulting PC gaming it's a crime? Wow, holy **** where are the logical hermits?

heh... logical hermits dont visit system wars, theyre up in the PC forums.
the hermits that come here are those who consistantly game on console aswell, and/or like feeding trolls and fanboys.

I hate PC gaming because there are too many games to choose from, too much hardware customization, and just plain too much choice. I like have a giant corporation tell me what to think and play - I feel uncomfortable making my own decisions. Buying into a generic identity fed to me by a faceless conglomerate gives me the blind conformity I crave.subrosian

Wow that a first, you hate a platform because there is too many games.

You will not go far in life if you need MS, Nintendo or Sony to make your own choice.

I love video games, I dont give a %^^&&* what console or pc they are played on as long as they are fun. I have always owned every console made since 1990. I have never been a pc gamer and never cared to be. A place called Titan gaming opened up by my house. I guess it is kinda like a arcade, but the have big screen hd tv's, wii, 360,ps3, and gaming pc's. That you pay to play. Its 4.00 a hr, thats not bad. I have all 3 consoles so I only wanted to play the pc games I never get to play. I really wanted to play Crisis but he didnt have it. I did play cod4, gears and bioshock. I only played them to kill time { I have beat them all on the 360} my GF dropped me off so she could go shopping. The Kbm sucks for me compared to the controllers Im used to. These are top of the line pc's and yes they look a little better than the console games but not to the extent you hermits are making it out to be. In short I just dont see how everything is better on PC.lolkie_81

i read the topic title and came in here like what does this dude have to say now? but you really surprised me, i dont think ive ever read anything as stupid as this on the forums before.

[QUOTE="Rougehunter"][QUOTE="Gamersince81"]Maybe he's right. How come PC gaming hasnt put the Wii, 360 and PS3 out of business if its so great?Gamersince81

because its nowhere near as mainstream as console gaming. Although whats better is usually underground;)

You can only blame the PC for not going mainstream like atari , nintendo and sega did in the "80"s. PC gaming is superior but the price is also superior to consoles. PC gaming will always be underground for its existance. I mean honestly, in "86" when i was playing super mario bros on the NES where was the mighty PC and its great graphical games then? Im no johnny come lately, what i grew up with is what im sticking with and thats consoles even if they are not superior to PC!

You live in US, right? Well I live in Europe and NES was non-factor here in 80s. Everything was dominated by 8bit computers like ZX Spectrum, Commodore64 and AtariXL. And then camed amiga. Good times

I think it is a very good game, I played it, but, it is not something that really divides the PC from the Consoles. PC=Console except it is just more expensive and a little prettier.

I had a $1500 back in 04/05 computer that out stripped my 360 and it still couldnt play Halo CE nearly as well as on the console. Look at Bioshock, it is just as good looking and big as it is on the PC and on the Console. What people dont realize is that the PC and Console are two entirely different animals. RAM and CPUs and GPUs dont apply the same on the console as on the PC. Ex: Stranglehold. And look at Crysis. Requires 1G of RAM for XP but 1.5 for Vista. See, half a Gig for just one little variation. Anyway, is there that big of a difference from Medium to high?

PCs are dynamic while consoles are static. Big companies dont spend hundreds of millions devoloping these console for the PC to best them in a years time. The consoles are made soley for games so the cost goes way down. So you get the gaming capabilitys of a 1-2 thousand dollar rig for the price of 4-6 hundred.

S34L

Wrong logic. Both HaloCE and Bioshock were console games first. THey were designed around the hardware limitations. When PC game is brought into consoles it always suffers, the levels are cut into smaller pieces to handle the low memory size. THe problem is that Crysis can't be done like this. It's all about huge open-ended envioremements, streaming levels (usual console trick) won't help because Crysis is already streaming a lot on PC. Most PC FPSess can be brought to consoles with some sacrifices, but Crysis is one of those games that won't work. Look at last gen. Far Cry was like that. When brining it to consoles devs had to redesign the whole game, make itm uch more linear and smaller. The same will happen to Crysis if it's ever brough to consoles.

Better graphics, better controls, better community, better games, need I go on?

1. the best looking games have been on the pc but in general pc games and console games look the same.

2. pure opinion.

3. Better community? who takes that into account? Well anyway i've never played a pc game online so i can't compare.

4. that's just an opinion. Personally, the only games i'm interested in on the pc are also on consoles.

all multiplats look better on the PC.

and best community is important, because the PC community gives custom maps and mods...you dont get that on consoles.

So they redesign the graphics for PC? MultiPlat Games: PS3= PC=360

Higher res, lack of jaggies and better textures do make multiplats look better on PC

And sometimes community make graphical upgrades. Especialy visible for Oblivion, where modded PC version makes both 360 and ps3 oblivion look medicore in comparision.

PC gaming in 1986? Something's wrong if you bought an IBM clone back then if you were even thinking about using it to play games-they generally had worse graphics and sound than something like a Commodore 64 or Atari 400/800 that cost a fraction of the price(magenta/cyan messes plus beeps-and-bloops PC speaker sound didn't make for very impressive games), and if you really wanted to spend the money on something powerful, you would have brought an Amiga into your home. (Of course, I've touched nothing but tons of IBM clones and old 680x0 Macs that littered elementary schools at the time. However, looking back on a decade that precedes myself, the message is clear-PC gaming was barely worth anything until around 1990 or so, when they finally caught up somewhat with things like VGA, the Sound Blaster, the Roland MT-32, the Gravis Ultrasound, and other things that brought the platform roughly on par with the Amiga and a good deal ahead of the C64, let alone other computers like the ZX Spectrum and BBC Micro.)

HaloCE was unoptimized. Thats what happens when the developer makes a sloppy PC port, it makes the requirements higher than they should be. A PC isn't a console, a console is a PC except toned down and aimed at the mainstream audience. I'm not sure why people think that the ram, cpu and gpu are different for consoles, they are the same. The only difference is developers get to focus on a single platform instead of developing for the mass array of PC configurations. Thus making it run its best. Regardless what you are trying to get at, the 360/PS3 are entry level PCs. Which don't have the power to run Crysis in its current form.

Graphically there is a big difference between medium and high detail and also a performance difference. But even at medium detail the 8800s gpus don't run it as smooth as one might think. Though I think Crysis would run a lot better if it was Quad core optimized but its not. It only uses dual core technology. So PCs costs $1000-$1500? It depends if you are buying a whole new one or not. Upgrading doesn't cost any where near that much. But lets use what you said as a example, that a individual needed to buy a new gaming pc with everything. Then consider if someone needed to buy a 360/PS3 with accessories and a HDTV. The price would come out to the same.

Then optimize it, give me some load times! Big deal. HDTVs can be used for TV. But thats just my opinion .

Ive been PC gaming and console gaming since I was a ripe sapling - about 14 years now.

PC has overwhelming strengths, and consoles advantages are that of where PC doesent exel.

Besides TC pretty much failed when he said 'Ive never been a PC gamer', and figured people would take his opinion seriously

You can play both. If you are not PC gaming you are missing out. Not a true gamer.

I know im missing out but i dont have 2000.00 right now to play Crysis..(which is realy the only PC game i wanna play. All that WOW, Starcraft stuff you can keep. Im trying to beat 10,000 games before i die and those games would hinder my rate lol.

i hope your joking about the $2k part

I hope he's joking about the 10.000 games to be beaten part. There is more than games in this short lifetime.

A car would suck at first for someone who is used to riding a horse. COD4 has leaning on pc. The fact that you can bind all weapons to separate keys makes a big difference in all games especially Bioshock where you have a ton of weapons and plasmids.

Want to add more replayability to COD:

Better games not really I find em all the same except PS. Controls depend on game type and community NO WAY I have been a PC gamer for nearly all my life never owned a console until xbox360 but I'd much rather play w/ 5 year olds then w/ 20 year olds that act like 5 year olds.

In the end PC gaming ownz but defiantly not the best in every way. In my opinion it has the least amount of cons.

Mods rule

so you're saying that instead of joining up with a clan (or solo with other random people) that are 20-30 years old and play as a team in games like tf2,cod4 and bf2, you'd rather go to the kids table and play with the 8yr olds on xbox live. okay...

maybe you've had bad luck meeting mature and fun people on the PC community (depending on the game of course)

i remember almost ALL the TF2 and BF2 servers ive joined, either team would always be on the mic, helping each other, and strategize, ive never encountered the retards you usually get on live.

[QUOTE="NamelessPlayer"][QUOTE="anshul89"][QUOTE="subrosian"]I hate PC gaming because there are too many games to choose from, too much hardware customization, and just plain too much choice. I like having a giant corporation tell me what to think and play - I feel uncomfortable making my own decisions. Buying into a generic identity fed to me by a faceless conglomerate gives me the blind conformity I crave.anshul89
Sub wins this thread !

I don't know how I overlooked that post, but I would so sig that if I had more sig space! (Note to self: Upload a picture with new PC system specs in it rather than using up the text space.)

He was being sarcastic.

I'm perfectly aware of the sarcasm. I want to sig it because I think it's funny, not because he's making a fool out of himself(which he isn't).
