my new pc can still play my old pc games from 90s no reason pack them into a box.

If they were a old school pc gamer they would have a giant collection of games right next to their goddamn computer.

Because more people have consoles. Most console gamers buy the games to play an hour or two a day after work or college and don't get serious about it. but PC gamers invest a lot of time and effort into their games. You sit down and play consoles for an hour or two and it's easy to detach from it. Not so much with PC. Time disappears when you play on PC. And lots of people will tell you that

I'm talking in terms of royalties. Something consoles devs have to pay to MS/Sony/Nintendo regardless, simply to release a game on their system. The PC is different. Naturally, a developer would have to buy development tools. It's unlikely such an intricate software would be freeware.

Sure PO'ED might of got the chef theme from puzzle games such as burgertime but there were no first person shooters with the mascot being a chef.
