[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"]Thats nice, we go by gamespot. Last generation the PC led with 69 AAA titles, .... insurmountable AA titles, and lord knows how many A titles. The closest follow was the PS2 with 60 AAA titles. So far this gen, the PC has accumulated 8 AAA titles and 48(?) AA titles. Nearly three times the 360.thew13

Just going by Gameranking cause it is easier to sort - Also when new consoles come out, there is usually a catchup time period, PC never has an adjustment period - that is why I use 2003-2005 - IF PC is os superior it should kill consoles even during console peak years

The question is , after this holiday, what does the 360 have? The Pc has already suprassed the PS3's 2008 lineup let alone the 360's 2008 of nearly nothiness.

Not saying there aren't years the PC is superior, just that it is not that vast a difference and when consoles get into year 3+ they will even things out if not gai. look at my original post now

Well ok? Catchup period doesnt apply from 360 release because games were developed for it before release, look at my scores list.

The PC is never very far ahead (although in this case as far as im concerned it is) , it even maintained its lead over the PS2 despite being the most successful console in existance.

That is a sign that it is doing something right.... be an open platform is a good start.

what does pc have all it games go to 360 and the other way around.

really...?

Since Xbox 360 Release :

Total AAA (# exclusive)

* PC: 9 (5)
* Xbox 360: 7 (3)
* Wii: 3 (1)
* PS3: 3 (0)

Total AA (# exclusive)

* PC: 62 (44)
* Xbox 360: 52 (6)
* PS3: 20 (1)
* Wii: 19 (1)

tells a different story ... silly lemming , look at the exclusives difference :P

Talk yo me in 2008/2009 for this gen as I stated it takes consoles 3 years to even things out and than gain advantage. You make it out as if PC destroys conoles year in and year out, which just isn't the case.

BTW I do PC game to a degree now, but lost interest, was into back in WarCraft II days and back in early 80's with Zork, and others. Have played and/or owned almost every system since Atari 2600. except Wii and PS3. If you want to call me an animal I would be more of a Hedgehog than anything. And I definitle not silly. If you want to compare intellect we can, but a forum is no place to prove that anyway.

??? What does that have to do with Wik or platform games? BTW I prefer 360 and I think the AAA titles will be tied with PCs as soon as Mass Effect/Halo 3 comes out. Then what is Hermits excuse? BTW remember at the end of 2005 when we actually had a AAA title that year? You guys went back in time on that one.

Always hear claims that PC has more AAA exclusivesthanany ofthe consoles. I think this might not be true. So to test I will take argubly(sp?) the best three years of last gen consoles (2003, 2004, 2005) and compare gameranking scores of 90 and up from PC, XBOX, PS2 and GC for each year. Then I will whittle down to exclusives. - Two edits

To Benjamin, we are talking platform games not racing.

To Rex, so now it is not enough that we pit all the home consoles against the PC, we have to add the handhelds too? Also I never said that the game was an exclusive, my statment was in reply toBenjamin's statment thathe does notlike PC's because they dont have Action Adventure and platform games.

what does pc have all it games go to 360 and the other way around.

really...?

Since Xbox 360 Release :

Total AAA (# exclusive)

* PC: 9 (5)
* Xbox 360: 7 (3)
* Wii: 3 (1)
* PS3: 3 (0)

Total AA (# exclusive)

* PC: 62 (44)
* Xbox 360: 52 (6)
* PS3: 20 (1)
* Wii: 19 (1)

tells a different story ... silly lemming , look at the exclusives difference :P

I doubt il be here for another year ;) but like I said next years line up is already very much in favour of the PC again ...

And the technology barrier grows, Crysis this year, Far Cry 2 next year, 2009? Crysis 2 while Xbox360 gets what...? Gears of War 2? Which at this point will probably be developed for botha t the same time...

Problems with PC gaming: too small screen, lack of split-screen multiplayer, and no controllers. Upside great graphics.casey7672

You can hook a PC up to a larger moniter, or your TV, if you enjoy lower quality resolution.

Granted. But LAN has been bigger on the PC.

There are controllers. More controllers than any console. There is more variety, and the 360 controller is becoming a larger side standard for controller enthusiasts.

Funny, I have a TRUE Force-Feedback flight HOTAS yoke and throttle (separate components), a pair of rudder pedals with toe breaks, TrackIR to track my head movement, and an LCD projector that will dwarf any HDTV set, and 7.1 sound through Klipsch speakers. You just can't get that on a console.

It doesn't matter. It shouldn't be "fair". When choosing a system, I'm looking for the one with the most quality games I like, which the PC obviously has with more AAAE/AAE exclusives than all next-gen consoles combined since the launch of the 360.

PC's do get Action Adventure games, hell even RE4 and DMC3 made it to the PC. As for platformers guess which system had the last AAA platform game? Here is a cule.

On LIVE arcade and actually DS was the last AAA platform game with New Super Mario Bros.

forza 2 motorsport my friend.

Wait....you're saying that the PC didn't have an AAA title that year? Are you kidding me? Looks like you're uninformed then.

Eh, PC and Consols are both good in different ways. I like PC for MMO's, FPS are fun even though a suck at key and mouse lol, and thier is alot of RTS. But I dont know why but I find PC games get boring alot faster than consols. Mabye its because I prefere the control scheme of consols etc. I dont really know but if it comes down to it, its purely opinion and both are good.

We got our SixAxis back in 1998 with the Free S T Y L E Pro. Excerpt from site: The Free****Pro, released in 1998, was a rather unique gamepad, as the up-down-left-right directions in analog mode were controlled by the movement of the controller, more precisely by the absolute pitch and roll position of the pad. This reaction on movement is quite similar to some of the features of the new Sony PlayStation 3 SIXAXIS. We decided motion-sensing controllers sucked back then. Guess what we think now? Edit: I just noticed this... 1998: With Motion Sensing 2005: With Motion Sensing

No... your english sucks... GTA doesn't sell amazing in Europe, neither does Madden. Mario doesn't sell like it used to...

Anyway, consoles only really matter in America. Europe and Australia(the two other major gaming regions) are absolutely dominated by the PC. That is why there are so many awesome PC games. Crytek doesn't do console games because they are from Germany, where consoles are almost non-existant. Also, every top dev starts on the PC. Lemme list the top developers in this industry and then list where they got their start...

Epic (PC)

Valve (PC)

Bungie (Mac / PC)

Relic (PC)

BioWare (PC)

[QUOTE="skrat_01"]Yay another PC hating thread fails again.Meu2k7

Yep, its sad, PC is a huge part of the gaming scene, oh well, they miss out .. Meanwhile I'l be enjoying the PCWii360 by the end of this year.

I just cant believe they keep attempting to get the better of the platform... Every time it simply fails.

Goddamn astounding they have so much persistence, and enough effort to muster up a new thread, after the later fails.

[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"][QUOTE="casey7672"]Problems with PC gaming: too small screen, lack of split-screen multiplayer, and no controllers. Upside great graphics.Hot_Potato

Besides the fact that Pcs can hook up to HDTVs, PES has multiplayer splitscreen, and you can use any gamepad you want?

Who hooks their PC's up to their HDTV's? And what PC uses a PS3 six axis controller?

Who would WANT to use a Sixaxis?

:lol: Oh man I LOL'D so freaking much :lol:

There is no hate in the thread. Just pointing out that things are actually pretty even.

ITs a long established rule we use gamespot. You want to change that now for your petty reasons? I lol. The fact of the matter is at gamespot PC gaming has, will have, and has always had the most exclusive titles and highly rated games. Its a fact of life.

Well your argument pretty much failed in the first page, courtesy of Vandal, Meu27K, and a band of merry PC gamers.

If anything the opening argument was all but desperate.

Cmon the 360 is currently the best console, but dont get carried away.

Why do you console fanbyoys insist on listing no exclusive counts? It really is quite pathetic, I wouldn't have a problem with it if you also lised exclusive counts, but when you ONLY list the non exclusive numbers it really is just sad.

I understand though because once you throw in the exclusive counts you really see what a sad world it is on the consoles

Sorry, it is the best. Best controls for FPS, RTS, and RPG/MMO. MODS (changing the game and almost making it into a new game for free). After time some mods even come out to make the game have better graphics. Better online experience than anything else for free. Dedicated servers. And the games usually have a lot more depth.

You shouldn't really go by what rating the games got from websites. Everybody has their own personal preference and a lot of people probably don't agree with a lot of reviews. You can't say that you agree with every score a game got, I'm sure there's a game that got crap scores everywhere but you loved it?

I've tried to just have a console due to money but can't stand playing fps without a mouse and not being able to play my strategy games. For me, pc is the premier gaming machine. I'm hopefully getting a new pc next month in time for WiC.

- Two edits

XBOX

2003 :8 games GTA:DP,KOTOR,PGR2.PoP:Sands of Time,SCII,NCAA2004,Panzer Dragoon Orta,ESIII:Morrowing GOYE

2004: 5 games: Halo2,Burnout 3:Takedown,SC:PT,NG,NFL 2K5

2005:7 games NG:Black, SC:CT, Forza,GTA:SA,Psychonauts,Burnout Revenge,Winning Eleven 8

20 total games - 19 because NG and Black are the same game (but SSX3 just missed but 90+ on other consoles) 3 exclusive, 2 could be considered as it was 3 years before they got on another system 3-5

GC:

2003: 7 games: Loz:WW, SCII, SSX3,Viewtiful Joe,PoP:SoT,Madden 2004,NCAA2004

2004: 1 Game: MP2:Echoes

2005: 1 Game: RE4

Total 9 games 2 Exclusive + 1 times that didn't get 90+ on other system 2-3

PS2:

2003: 8 Games: R&C:Going Commando, Tony Hawk Underground, VF4:Evolution, SCII, PoP:SoT,Madden2004,SSX3,NCCA2004

2004: 7 Games: GTA:SA,Burnout 3: Winning Eleven 7, R&C UYA,MGS3: SE, PES4,Madden2005

2005: 6 Games: RE4,GoW,Guitar Hero,SotC,Winning Eleven 8, Burnout Revenge

21 total 6 Exclusive

PC:

2003: 4 Games GTA:VC,KOTOR,CoD,Splinter Cell

2004: 6 Games: HL2, UT 2004, WoW, Rome:TW,Chronicles of RiddicK, The Sims2

2005: 4 Games: Civ IV,GTA;SA,SC:CT,Battlefield 2

14 total 6 exclusives

PS2 21 total, Xbox 19 total, PC 14 total, GC 9 total - fail to see PC dominance here - am I missing something? Next edit Exclusives

PS2 6 exclusives, PC 6 Exclusives, Xbox 3(to 5) exclusives, GC 2(to3) exlusives - still not seeing the dominance here Pc ties PS2 and Xbo is imo i behind. Where is the dominance.

Then if we actaully see how many games were out for each system and what percentage.... - well that's a different argument

thew13

What you fail to realize is, I can play games from before then and after then. If I can play it, it counts. So I have more than just 2003, 2004, and 2005 to pick from. This thread FAILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The PC game section up here in Canada, is usually 2-3x bigger then any of the console sections.
