Also you can build a micro atx pc and put it in a smaller case which is still cooled well and they even have handles on the cases for easy carrying.

Still need a monitor for that thing and don't say you need a tv for a ps3 because almsot everyone owns a TV. Not everyone owns a second monitor for you to just bring your pc over and plug it in. I'm a console and PC gamer, but at times console gaming is a lot more practical imo.
Gaming notebook?Gaming laptops are a great idea, but they are on the very expensive side and you're stuck with that computer hardware wise forever. For example for the price of a decent gaming laptop $1000(not too expensive, nice price) I could probably buy a 360 and it's successor if console price schemes stay the same. Again this is imo so if you disagree that's fine, but I'm not wrong as neither side is factual.
Might not be practical (if by practical you mean can bring to your friends house and/or play with a bunch of friends) but it has better graphics/customizability/better framerate/choice for keyboard OR gamepad/cheaper games/mods/steam
You can also choose how much you want to spend
If i want incredible graphics i can buy top of the line stuff, if I'm happy with medium i can save money and go the cheaper route.
That doesn't mean PC gaming isn't practical :|When you pay $300 for a console, you can play the latest games for many years to come.
When you pay $300 for PC, you will find yourself upgrading your hardware to keep up with the most demanding games. The graphics may not look as good when compared to the PC version of the same game (assuming you have the latest hardware), but the fact that the games of the near-future (Rage, Killzone 3) will run at 100% on your system without the need of any upgrades is a great feeling.
Portability - Bring your console with you. Instant gaming at your friend's place.
Why would they be slimming down our consoles? Of course it's not just for looks.
Yes, it's true. People take their consoles with them.
Unless you have a mini-ATX build, your PC is staying home.
Accessibility - Anyone can do it. Get together with friends.
Just plug in and play. Don't worry about the hardware. We have that covered. Have fun for the next several years.
The games. The variety. Consoles have them, PCs don't.
It's not just about exclusivity. It's the variety that makes consoles get more attention from the masses.
Find a game like Super Mario Galaxy 2 on the PC. You can't
Find a game like Uncharted 2 on the PC. You can't.
Find a game like Little Big Planet 2 on the PC. You can't.
What you can find on the PC are games that can only take advantage of the mouse/keyboard configuration (for the most part).
Consoles get a lot more attention from the mainstream because consoles offer games for everyone

I don't get your point, are you implying people have a spare HDTV?You just plug your console into their TV

You can plug your PC into your television that you already own.
So your argument fails.
You changed the title, bad title change, this won't end well :P It's a losing battle dude, consoles just don't come with nearly enough awesomeness packed in as the PC does. It's practical, just in a different way. One could argue it's much more practical :P

I'm implying that they have a TV not a spare one. If you're bringing your console over for the most part they don't have that console there. You connect it to their TV and enjoy multiplayer battles etc with your friends.

If I was going to a friends house why would I plug my pc into my tv?
1) You pay more for a superior experience.
2) LAN parties/Laptops
1. And if, after paying the money, I still find myself having a less enjoyable experience? 2. If I took my laptop to a LAN party, I'd be chased out with pitchforks and torches. You people don't take kindly to my Mac-using kind. 3. Totally agreed. There are definitely a lot of genres that are nearly absent from the PC, but that works both ways.Okay.
I don't get the point of threads like these. So you don't think PC gaming is practical. Good for you. I don't care. Just buy whatever platform(s) you find enough value in and stop insulting my intelligence.

What would they plug their pc into if you're using their monitor? I wasn't saying pc gaming is betetr than or worst than console gaming. I was stating that mp parties with your friends is more practical with console gamers. I love gaming on both pcs and consoles.

The only reasons to choose consoles over PC is because you're scared, deep down, that you don't have what it takes to handle a machine with that much potential for awesome.
Oh yeah, as a consolite, I'm totally terrified of the PC. I'm not sure how I manage to keep my job as a senior software developer in the face of such crippling fear. Hold me, please, until I stop shivering.I kinda agree...its MUCH more accessible,IMO more fun.I dislike when people say "for 400$ you can buy PC that kills consoles bla bla...".First,here where i live you cant even buy decent screen for 400$ let alone gaming PC.For 1000$ you can buy PC that will play all todays games on high but for a year you wont be able to.Anyway...consoles this gen have some amazing looking game that ALOT of everyday people would pick before any STALKER or Metro 2033.

What variety? PC has more indie games than all of the consoles combined could ever hope to have (try finding something like Defcon or Uplink on consoles...you can't). PC is also home to genres that barely even exist on consoles (if at all) such as simulation games, flight combat games, adventure games, MMOs, and RTS. On top of all the commercial games we also get mods for those games which further increases the variety since you can change or add anything to a game (contrast this to LBG where you're limited to the assets that the game has and nothing more). Finally, PC's library extends back to the 80's, whereas the largest library a console has is the 40GB PS3 which only covers PSX, PS2, and PS3 games.
LOL I started watching I thought "oh God this is terrible", but now I can't stop lol'ing xDOh dear.. Consolites needing to be EDUCATED again.

Where is the PC's motion controller, hmm?Where is the PC's motion controller, hmm?RikusakiWiimote is compatible with the PC, Natal is compatible with the PC
i like pc more, idon't really think any of the are superior, it really just depends on individual needs,
i think that pc has a lot of variety maybe the most, perhaps you just dont look hard enough...
when i play games i like to be able to alt tab out, and look online for a guide or something if i need to, or just some information about a character or the story or something, although this probably doesn't matter to most people, but i like it.
i like to play with a mouse and a keyboard, over any controller, although i know there are people who like controllers more thats fine.
i like the pretty much infinite backwards compatibility on pcs also, from time to time i can still play empire earth, or age of empires 2, kotor, diablo 2 etc...without having to change consoles, set up new wires, or anything like that...
also i believe that addones and mods for pc games can extended the life of a game's fun, maybe just for me though, i am a big fan of mods.
its cool that people like consoles, but don't assume that there are not any reasons for someone to like pcs more
PC Gaming is an expensive hobby rather than playing on consolesNerubianWeaverIt doesn't cost that much more. The 360 launched at $400 and the PS3 launched at $600. A good PC would cost you about $800. It costs more at first, but games are much cheaper (or free if you're a dirt bag), and it does MUCH more than just playing games. You'd need a console and a basic PC to get all the functionality that you get out of a decent gaming PC.
