@imt558: Definitely not a pure simulation, all you have to do to find out is to get the c9 mercedes out for a spin at Nurburgring with both games SSE and project cars, you will soon find out the huge difference between the arcade and the sim. it is impossible to hit full throttle in a 900 hp beast out of a corner and nothing to happen not even a decent spin. If you do it in assetto you'll find yourself spinning out of track. I don't say that in the assetto the representation is super exact as it is in real life but i can say for sure that is far more near to it. I still think a game like GSC is more fun and feels more sim-like even though the graphics aren't as good. For some people PCars is probably a hardcore sim, cause they just played Outrun or Sega Rally (or name another arcade title). Some years ago I also would have called PCars a sim before I knew iracing, GTR, GPL, SSE or rfactor. Now that I know these titles I personally wouldn’t call PCars a sim. My view on this game, is that it is a toned down simulator, very near arcade, just because they wanted to sell the sh*t out of it. A difference between iracing and PCars, is that Iracing will have a lot of real drivers active in the service, and PCars would see next to non. Stig and Hamilton and Rene Rast were part of the PR machine. I bet you never heard of 99% of the real drivers promoting iracing, when they are active in it. I was a junior member from 2012 till the time the game was removed from my steam library a few months ago, so whilst i didn't buy the game, i did play the final build and experienced the bizarre ffb system and concluded that this is Shift3 based on the weird/forgiving driving model. Even the Need for Speed Shift games had better FFB than Pcars. The end result was not as good as promised and multiplayer is hit and miss and the AI is pathetic. Other than that, it's a bit of fun and extremely good looking when you turn off all the lens flare, post processing and other console friendly prettiness.
