Actually I was pure hermit during 1988-2005, never saw consoles before X360 launch. When I saw X360 - trashed my PC and run away from low quality boring modern PC games.

Golden 90-th PC era got back, but sadly not on PC but X360

No PC system sellers for me anymore. There are some PC games which I could play, like Stalker and Crysis last year, but they are not something which force you to buy gaming platform.

What hermits can't seem to grasp is that consoles are slowly catching up to PCs. Yes, consoles will never ever have graphics as good as PCs...but everything else is fair game. Eventually, there will be a control scheme that is as accurate as KB/M on consoles. Wii is dang close to this when implemented correctly. Online multiplayer is a reality with consoles and has been for several years now. 360 has achievements. The ONLY thing consoles lack over PCs is graphics and mods. Eventually hermits...someday...mods will be available for consoles. Not this gen, but it will happen. So, the only thing left for hermits to boast about in the future will be graphics. That will be it.

Yes, nothing is quite as accurate as KB/M in terms of controls, but my 360 controller is a hell of a lot more comfortable than having my hands in weird cramped positions on my PC. I also get to sit my lazy butt in a recliner.

Wiimote isn't even close to the KB/M. I would love to play CS:S against someone using the Wiimote. They'll get destroyed.

Mods available for consoles huh? How do you suppose they're going to develop these mods? That's right, a PC. Even then I doubt the console companies are interested in letting real mods take place on their consoles because that means people can play mods instead of buying new games. That equals less royalties.

For everything great that the PC does have, there are as many downfalls.

The PC is the best elitist platform. I don't think there's really a doubt about that. The PC dominates the elitist genres, because KB + M really is the best way to go for certain genres at this point.

I wouldn't say the PC is the best platform, though. To me, gaming is about pure fun, and I have more fun playing casual games with a group of friends, which is much easier to do on a console.
