PC needs more platformers like Mario IMO. Wouldn't mind more action games like Uncharted, but with way less movie/scripted sequences.
Indie devs seem to be picking up where other devs aren't.
If we're using such a vague term like "Action". The PC has hundreds of these.tagyhag
Action subgenres: Platformers, Shooters, Brawlers/BEMUPS/H&S, Fighters and each ones respective subgenres.
It's true PC only gets a handful of any of those, shooters being the most they get, and most of what it gets in those genres isn't that good..
Biggest drawback of PC gaming ... I only see tons of rts , mmo , rpg and indie games being developed for PC with exception of few action games as Crysis & Stalker ETC . Rest games as COD , Battlefeild ETC being multiplatforms which releases for consoles alike . Whereas console games have largest library of exclusive and highly popular action games . I feel PC devs should develop more action games to attract gamers . Majority gamers prefer action games . Thoughts ? indzman
It would be cool for more games like Vanquish and Bayonetta to be on the PC, but aswell as platforming games like Mario Galaxy and the excellent Donkey Kong Country Returns.
But as for casual simple cinematic scripted mediocrity and console shooters (which basically are clones), i wish they do not infect PC gaming.

I'm still buying that if they fix the cruddy animation that was with the character they first showed.

Don't know, may not be so insultingly scripted.
It looks really good, but the animation on that character ruins everything, can't expect much from such a early build though, i guess its cool.

...What? Th-This makes no sense...Ya PC need more action/adventure games but im amazed PC got Darksiders tho, more of that plz
aroxx_ab
Definitely. Moar Darksiders is always good.
Meh, I think we have a pretty good seleciton. In fact a better one overall than consoles.
That being said, the more games the better. I heard the last couple of fighting games released on PC sold very well, so hopefully developers will start paying attention.

I will too just out of curiosity.PC has lots of shooters and easily the best shooters IMO. I'm not a big fan of 3rd person button mashers or street fighter combat games so I don't really miss either. I actually wouldn't mind if games like Prototype disappeared from the PC completely, I find them really dull.
Action is very broad....
but yeah I see what you mean.
Would also like more JRPGs ploize and other Japanese style games and no I won't settle for old school (TOU says no!).

You don't want the choice of different games? You'd rather just have more focus on shooters? :?
IF by action games you mean hack and slash games like Bayonetta, Ninja Gaiden, etc than its because the Japanese don't support PC very well and most hack and slash games tend to be made by Japanese devs. Devil May Cry 3 and 4 are the only ones I can think of that have made it to PC

Continent of The Ninth is a Instance MMO that offers gameplay very similar to Bayonnetta and DmC, there is also Vindictus and Dragon Nest and unfortunately Continent only appears to be in China and South Korea at the moment,(althougha proxy could solve that and I hear that EU/Us versions come out in 2012 or something).
For the upcoming month, I see several action games. RyuranVII made a good list of upcoming PC games for september.
Since, Gamespot wont let me link: http://www.gamespot.com/forums/topic/28825376/pc-releases---september-2011?tag=topics%3Btitle
No thanks, I actually like depth in my games.

Are you implying that action games are always shallow?

People hear action, they think Uncharted. Not really fair to the other games, seeing how Uncharted is mostly a shooter.People hear action, they think Uncharted. Not really fair to the other games, seeing how Uncharted is mostly a shooter.

Hmm, I will refrain from commenting on uncharted ;). However, I will say that there are shooters that require a lot of thinking, teamwork and awareness of the surroundings.
Action games may in general be nowhere near as deep as strategy games or roleplaying games however there are certainly a action games with a lot of depth.

I watched that video if Vindictus that you linked and that looks like a lot of fun. I'll keep an eye out for that game

Are you asking that implying the majority of action games released this generation aren't shallow?
Most action games are shallow, that I will agree with you with. However, just because a game is an action game it does not always mean it is a shallow game.

So nothing like Uncharted. UmmmmEhh, dont make me comment on that series... I would rather just forget its existance. Uncharted represents everything I hate about gaming: Cinematic gameplay, whac-a-mole combat, day 1 dlc, excessive scripting, ect.
Edit: Darn, you made me comment on it.

So what you're saying is that you'd like less of a selection to choose from?If crap was a flavour of ice cream and I dont like crap flavoured ice cream, I would be perfectly fine with a smaller selection if that meant I no eat crap flavoured ice cream.
lol? "action"? There are plenty, probably even more than consoles. The reason why the pc doesnt "attract" more gamers is the fact that they either dont understand it, dont have as many friends on it, too lazy to attempt it, etc. Nothing really to do with "teh explosions"kris9031998
In other words: PC games are boring unless they're FPS :P
