PC gamers don't like JRPGS thats why there aren't many on PC

Zurrur

it's as fantasy/medieval based as any other RPG i've seen and PC gamers do love those and started the genre. is it supposed to be JRPG just because it's developed in Japan or somethin?

The game will play far worst on PC, like all 3rd person games played with keyboard/mouse

And someone that has already enjoyed the game would be jealous of desparate attempts to get the game on PC ?

The only reason it must not come to PC is that gameplay will be destroyed and the game will be pirated and the company could close doors due to that

loosingENDS

guessing this is sarcastic or just baiting. or u never played Witcher, Two Worlds, Drakensang, Elder Scrolls 3, 4, 5, or any of the others, all these have great 3rd person keyboard/mouse control, much better than anaolg sticks. and how would a company go bankrupt for selling more games? just because some pirate doesn't mean everyone is.

As said though, I think this is a game which definitely needs a pad.

That's because there isn't any jrpg games to play. This isn't because PC gamers hate jrpg games but that a PC gaming market doesn't exist in Japan.

[QUOTE="GrannyGoat"]Yes it will be trash because of a lower fps. Forget the story, the gameplay, the characters. Resolution and fps are where its at, declares hermits!!

casharmy

Gameplay does also matter, which is why its fortunate that we have so many more games too :)

We don't need Dark Souls, as PC has the biggest library and best version of nearly every multiplat,.... but having it would certainly be nice.

contradiction much?

There aren't really any other games this gen that can claim to be better in that department outside ofDemon's Souls. Do you consider that clunky mess that Bethesda has put together, where you are just flailing around in their games, good gameplay? Don't make statements like that just because you are getting defensive about what someone is saying about the PC, it makes you look ignorant.

You conveniently skipped this part

but having it would certainly be nice.

And yes, I do think Skyrim is better, as do nearly every reviewer, including GS. Problem?

Why did you even bring Skyrim up? That whole post seemed like a pathetic troll tbh.

Well, it was expected

Will never reach a million, or even 100.000

Why would they release a version to sell 10.000 copies and loose 1.000.000 console sales from PC version piracy ?

Witcher 2 PC version will get a free update.

ronvalencia

But xbox 360 will get it day one, with the game, so everyone will play it that way

The buyers on PC played the game before the update, so they playd the game with the inferior version

As for controls, will be 100x better on xbox 360 with true analog, that wont be on PC

A mouse is an analog control device.

Dark Souls wouldn't play poorly with a mkb setup but I would still prefer using a controller because the game would not benefit from the mouse and additional keys. Player control is more important here and that's where controllers have the upper hand over the WASD keys.

It depends on the user. Xbox 360 and PC (Games for Windows) shares the same Xinput APIs.

I imagine that this petition will be as successful as the IWNet boycott.

It would take a bribe to tell From Software to port the game onto the PC.

Pc gamers would HATE dark souls.

Pc gamers dont like pointless restrictions (i dont either), and dark souls multiplayer is all about pointless online restrictions.

PC gamers get mad when there arent dedicated servers, i cant even imagine what they would have to say about the broken ass multiplayer of dark souls that is the most restrictive and limiting multiplayer of any game ever released in the history of the world.

It depends. If multiple weapon combinations were hotkeyed through the number keys, then the PC version would be better by far. No more having to go into your inventory if you want to have 3 different weapon equip sets.

RyuRanVII

I played blade of darkness so long ago i dont remember.

But dark souls isnt actually difficult to beat as many like to pretend. The main initial difficulty is the result of a bad tutorial, the game doesnt tell you how to play the game... so its trial and error figuring it out (or learn it online). After that its just a test of patience... 99% of deaths are a result of not knowing whats ahead, once you find out whats ahead (by dying), then its easy.

You can be terrible at video games and still beat dark souls easily, if you are patient. If you like action RPGs, and are patient its a really fun game. If you dont like action RPGs, this isnt going to be the one that changes your mind.

EDIT: in terms of difficulty, i probably died over 100 times my first playthrough, but i could probably start a new character and beat the game without dying once. Not because the game turned me into some super elite gamer, but just because i now know what to expect.

mp was broken because of technical issues, but its still broken because of design issues. Alot of Pc gamers seem to like the freedom to play games as they see fit using current technology available to them.

Dark souls purposely restricts online gaming back to 90s multiplayer. So if PC gamers want that, then the whole freedom to play as they want spiel is rather suspect.

right, well you are not the ambassador for PC gaming i assume. There was a Pc boycott when MW2 announced they were dropping dedicated servers. Dark souls multi makes MW2 look like a online paradise of freedom.

Multiple loadouts would ruin the game because you could easily hotkey, specific sets of equipment for specific fights. There is no pause button on console, making it virtually impossible to change gear on the fly... now i assume they had the ability to program a pause function, but probably didnt want people changing gear on the fly. I guess it wouldnt ruin the game, but it would severely lessen the difficulty, which is kind of the whole selling point.

It wouldn't ruin the game at all. It would only alleviate the time it takes to change out equipment. It might also make PVP more dynamic and competitive.

IF i can put on my a full set of fire resistance gear with a click of a button when fighting quelaag or ceaseless discharge to avoid their fire attacks then switch back to my damage set in the middle of battle... that makes things alot easier.

It also makes pvp more cheap, as it makes it harder for average players to win against people with multiple equipment loadouts. Drinking potions in a duel is already pretty cheap, imagine changing all your gear.

not really easily, giving a PC player an advantage would require an entire rebalancing of the game... assuming they want to retain the difficulty the game is most known for.

adding a cooldown would just be trying to gimp PC gamers inline with consoles gamers... at which point, why would you bother retooling the whole system rather than just keep the same system?

none of this makes sense good sir!

JRPGs never sell or will come to PC

The only way to play Dark Souls is buy a xbox 360 or PS3

Also what developer would be crazy to put its great selling game to PC piracy and loose console sales ?

Will never happen

The worst thing that could happen to the game is non analog keyboard and mouse controls BTW, would totally destroy the experience

It doesn't matter either way. I would be happy with a port to the PC. It could keep the same system for all I care, because I still enjoyed the game. I got very sick of the FPS drops on my PS3 in Blighttown and New Londo Ruins.

JRPGs are on PC.

Not if it comes to PC.

Putting a game on PC would not loosen console sales, or any sales. Piracy doesn't equate to lost sales (not that you're smart enough to understand that.)

May happen.

Just because you suck with a keyboard and mouse doesn't mean it's going to ruin the experience.

JRPGs never sell or will come to PC

The only way to play Dark Souls is buy a xbox 360 or PS3

Also what developer would be crazy to put its great selling game to PC piracy and loose console sales ?

Will never happen

The worst thing that could happen to the game is non analog keyboard and mouse controls BTW, would totally destroy the experience

loosingENDS

L.A. Noire sold terribly. The developers went bankrupt and closed down their studio, but they still managed to port in on PC.

That is because it sold terribly, Dark Souls sales are great, so they have zero reason for a PC port

Putting it on PC means will loose console sales due to the huge piracy

Like the 4 million sales Witcher 2 lost for going PC first, if they were first on consoles sales would be triple those of PC, now it is all gone

Just stop typing loosing. You're getting no one anywhere. I can see you'd be very butthurt though if Dark Souls went to PC. You'd have much less to claim about the 360 then.

Number of pirated copies does not equate to number of sales lost, dumbass. And how the f*ck does PC piracy affect console sales? The devs dont care where the sales come from anyway. If TW2 was on consoles, dumbasses like you would have bought it used and CDPR would have ACTUALLY lost tons of money. But your head is obviously up in your *ss and you can't hear anything that people tell you.

Oh please. This is sad even for those immensely low levels you sink to. LA Noire sold over 5 million. Game was in development hell and the owner ran his company into the ground. Rockstar had the game ported. I'm waiting for you to tell me us that three times the sales of Dark Souls is bad.

Consoles have piracy as well. Stop dodging facts.

Keep believing your delusional reality. CD Projekt RED would've been shut down for poor sales on consoles.

[QUOTE="DragonfireXZ95"] That could be easily be remedied with a cooldown on armor/weapon switches.DragonfireXZ95

not really easily, giving a PC player an advantage would require an entire rebalancing of the game... assuming they want to retain the difficulty the game is most known for.

adding a cooldown would just be trying to gimp PC gamers inline with consoles gamers... at which point, why would you bother retooling the whole system rather than just keep the same system?

none of this makes sense good sir!

It doesn't matter either way. I would be happy with a port to the PC. It could keep the same system for all I care, because I still enjoyed the game. I got very sick of the FPS drops on my PS3 in Blighttown and New Londo Ruins.

yea blighttown was pretty damn terrible, probably one of the few times i wish i was playing on my Pc instead.

I still dont think there would be a large market for it on PC though. :P

LA Noire sold far more copies than Dark Souls did. The reason for Team Bondi's closure was because the cost of developing La Noire was so high and they couldn't secure a publisher for their next title. Demon's Souls as an example was only estimated to have sold 300,000-750,000 units while a similar niche pc title The Witcher 1 was able to sell 1.5 million units. Demon's Souls had more marketing and was a better game than The Witcher 1. I have always stated and will continue to say that if Demon's Souls was on the PC it would have sold more copies than it did on the PS3.

One thing that should be considered is that if it goes onto the PC, will it have any sort of marketing AT ALL? The main reason why Capcom's PC releases didn't get satisfactory sales is because of zero marketing, not even a simple Team Fortress 2 promotional item. Also, i'm still wondering if the game is made with a Mac, cuz that could be a factor as to why there isn't a PC version.

Dark Souls on PC? Why not? I think they missed a trick by not putting it on the PC to start with... can't imagine porting it would be that hard.
