Desktop : custom built of course

Laptop: Thinkpads. By far the best keyboards on the market, the best energonomy, they have trackpoints, tough built and they are one of the few laptops that don't look goofy and flashy.

I cant decide since they are all the same..Only thing better is custom built.

I prefer DIY. At the very least, I would've preferred a true clone with off-the-shelf parts like one from cyberpowerpc.com

OEMS sucks all over priced low end systems with ungly cases . Customs are good when some one spends real money and time into them. I hate seeing a 450$ pc where the owner acts like its the most amazing thing ever when it has junk hardware in it .

I still love my HP TC1100, despite its age. It's a very unique little machine, and has a cult folowing. I vote HP.

For a gaming laptop, I'd go with either Asus or MSI.

Desktop PCs- custom build Laptops- Apple, well built, reliable, and it's OS is extremely efficient in terms of resource usage.hiphops_savior

Dell is now the best...they offer Steam installed at the factory.

HP is prejudiced against nVidia GPUs...if you order a PC from them with nVidia, then you can't have a sound card...if you want a sound card, they force you to buy only ATI, and that's just bad marketing, imo.

Dell? Is the poll results serious? Anyway, to get anything else than custom built is dumb. Especially since there are stores that put everything together for you, if you have no idea how a computer works.

Custom built for Destkop

Asus or Toshiba for a laptop. Samsung and Lenovo aren't bad either.

This made me laugh. Like others have said, custom PCs are the best. The real war in PC gaming is nVidia vs. AMD and Intel vs. AMD among a few smaller battles in other types of hardware.
