We all know PC is king when it comes to graphics, but which is king of online PC or Xbox Live.

XBOX LIVE HANDS DOWN sory windows live cant competechunkymonkey313
This isn't to do with Windows Live, as that's just one of many programs out there that do the same thing, uch as STEAM of XFIRE.
Live wins in being a simple, unified online experience. PC wins in everything else.
You guys are confusing 'unified online service' with 'unified multiplayer service'. Steam only distributes the games - games that use steam servers for multiplayer use its API. On the frontend, it doesn't matter, and there is no discernable difference between a centralised service. In the backend, it does - because there are no central servers to go down for maintanence and stop you from playing the game.
The only thing you care about is having one friends list - which is easy. Most gamers usually have a steam account, so just go with that.
It depends what you like
Xbox Live - Simple, unified, horrid community, support for all XBox 360 games ( I can chat with my friend playing MW while I am playing Mass Effect)..
Steam,Xfire,Games for Windows - Free,No real unified support, seperate communities, etc
Game wise I would take PC over Xbox Live...I don't particullarly care about unification. (I use to appear offline while playing on my Xbox 360 so my COD4 clan/ Real life friends wouldn't bug me to log onto X game instead of playing Y game .). I like the control that PC games give players by allowing us to pick our own map lists, use player created content, kick people from our servers, etc it allows for a good community to be created. My COD4 clan on PC use to host a Christmas version of Crash on our server during december.
stuff like that made me like gaming on my PC more.

Hope you aren't referring to Modern Warfare 2 given that Party chat is all but eliminated from the game online. no, I don't own an xbox 360 anymore...so I was referring the original in which you still could. Obviously not anymore ,but that has more to do with Infinity Ward than anything.[QUOTE="gamer620"][QUOTE="UnknownSniper65"]Hope you aren't referring to Modern Warfare 2 given that Party chat is all but eliminated from the game online. no, I don't own an xbox 360 anymore...so I was referring the original in which you still could. It felt like it was a feature that Microsoft included so that everyone could keep in touch across several games...but really it just resulted in me getting a message from people on my friends list every 15 minutes.
" COME PLAY GEARS"
" COME PLAY COD"
" STOP PLAYING ACE COMBAT"
" LOOK AT MY ACHIEVEMENTS"
"WHY ARNT YOU ON COD"
It did have some upsides though...I did find myself playing with people on my friend lists across multiple games...But then again that happens on my Steam friends list too.
Btw I found that christmas map of Crash - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1Kiv9zn8ys
LIVE is the easiest and most ready to jump right in over the 2. BUT LIVE cost money. That is its biggest downfall to me.
PC has more people playing probably but the chat system isnt quite as user friendly and its also a sepparate program you have to dl and figure out. Plus back when I played it wasnt quite as easy hooking up with friends. BUT PC online is 99% free. So that is good for some.
How is there even a contest? LIVE is a multiplayer experience more primitive than playing Quakeworld 13 years ago on a 56k modem and you have to pay for it now. Lag, tiny player counts, no dedicated servers, matchmaking, no admins, no mods, no server control, no choice, no cvars etc etc....
Free online, but a high end PC also cost way more then an Xbox 360 does. I got a year of Xbox Live at Walmart for $40 plus tax.

I don't understand what a high-end PC has to do with anything. You don't need a high-end PC to run the internet :?

The cost of a 360 Elite, Accessories, Live subscription, and an HDTV costs more than a good gaming computer nowadays. Not to mention the games cost more on consoles.
