Standardization of consoles with a set lifetime are the big advantage to console gaming. Yeah, you won't be looking at the best graphics by the end of it's lifecycle, but you'll be looking at the best graphics POSSIBLE with the hardware that is being represented. You never have to worry about updating drivers and the developers get to know the system like the back of their hands.
Standardization did wonders to the rifle industry, the manufacturing industry, and now the gaming industry. PC's take effort to upkeep properly and you run into issues when your setup is different than what the developers had to work with. Graphics cards come with specific games so that you can see whta they're capable of. You get different results from different systems. At a mundanely miniscule level, this is a bastardization of the developers work.
Console gaming has as many advantages as PC gaming.
