People are calling the Playstation 3 a failure already. But here's something these people need to keep in mind:

Zero of the exclusive games that made the Playstation 2 such a run away success have had their sequels released on the Playstation 3 as of yet. Sure, the new and successful "Resistance" franchise has had its start, but that's it.

Gran Turismo, Ratchet and Clank, Jak, Tekken, Metal Gear Solid, God of War, Dark Cloud, Monster Hunter, SOCOM, and Kingdom Hearts have yet to have their latest installments release.

Final Fantasy XIII's exclusivity is quite the hot topic right now, but remember that the only other console Final Fantasy XIII (It is confirmed that spinoffs will appear on other consoles, but I'm talking about FFXIII) could appear on would be Xbox 360. This would be a blow to the Playstation 3 in North America and Europe, but so far the Japanese aren't buying 360s. Japan will go crazy for the Playstation 3 version of Final Fantasy XIII no matter what.

Those games don't matter. Its price is too high. If it was $400-$450 at launch then PS3 would be on top but Sony got greedy and will now suffer for it.

That was true for the 1st 4months.  But after the March # came out, xbox 360 is slightly ahead of the ps3 after 5months.  PS3 dropped off after it's fast start but the 360 was a steady horse.

Yeah because we all know the 149$ Dreamcast completely sold out the wayyyy too expensive $300 PS2.

At this point, i think you'd have to be crazy to believe that the next KH game will show up on the PS3 (at least initially).  Wii owns the Japanese market, and it's *****-slapping the PS3 in every other market.

For a game that has yet to enter development (according to latest interviews), there's just no way they're going to develop it for the most expensive console with the smallest fanbase.  It ain't gonna happen.

Being Rich or Poor has nothing to do with it. I could be a millionare and I would still think $600 is too much for a gaming Console. I would rather buy a 8800GTX with $600. As I will get more worth out of it.

All consoles are dry Softwarewise their 1st year. The Wii has Zelda, Tramua Center, Mario and Warioware thats it. PS3 has Resistance, and Tekken. When 360 launched all it had was Madden and Call of Duty 2.

I'm pretty sure Naughty Dog said that the Jak franchise was done.  They're making something new for the PS3.  Also, Monster Hunter??? Seriously??? Does this sell ANY consoles?  Also the PS3 argument of FFXIII might be that the PS3 version will sell better in Japan, but then again, the Xbox 360 version will probably sell better in America and Europe with the way the PS3 is going on here and there now... So which do you think holds more weight?

And not by much and also add the ps3 hasnt had any big exclusive games yet to hit the ps3 that made it successful with the ps1 or ps2, and with a price tag that high, id say the sales for the ps3 is just fine. If the xbox 360 has such an amazing lineup of games for gamers and is 200 dollars cheaper then a ps3 then why isnt it demolishing the competition. U would think a system that u fanboys praise so much, if it had all these amazing games u state it does, then why isnt it destroying the ps3 and wii in sales? Hmm let me see maybe there are alot of people who are smart and waiting for MS to fix there crappy hardware before they buy one. They are bringing the elite out and I heard they still have the same chip in there, lol. If this is tru, I say have fun getting milked. The wii is doing very well because of its price, and will continue to do well, but just because the ps3 is selling slower then it is expected to, it doesnt mean it is doing bad, last time I checked they are still on pace to do better then the xbox 360 if u look at the time being the xbox 360 has been out longer then the wii and ps3 for a year longer so its the only reason it has that lead, and still for a system that has been in the market for a year before its competitors, the sales show that it still is crap. I guarantee if the ps3 or wii wouldve been out for a year by itself, they would have sold atleast 15 to 20 thousand consoles by now.

 Apples to oranges, the 360 had supply issues that limited sales. The PS3 is sitting on the shelves.

$300 wasn't expensive for a console back then. I had no problem buying my PS2 at launch. $600 is too expensive. Ill even admit $485 for the elite is expensive for a console. $400 for 360 was already Stretching it. The majority of consumers and popular opinion will agree.

PS3 for March in Japan and NA - 265,098

Xbox 360 for March in Japan and NA - 216,003

you do know that the 360 launched worldwide and the ps3 only launched in Japan and NA???  Had the 360 taken it's european stock of 360's and used them for US sales then they would of easily out numbered ps3 sales.

Not that that really maters since the first 2 months are pretty much about how many systems you can manufacture.
