Right now the value you get from the PS Vita is not equivalent to the hard work you put into making $250, and is therefore expensive.

Nintendo dropped the 3DS price, that was the biggest blow.

Actually that can be said for any faction, as the 3DS did sell for $250 at one time and was purchased by sheep and non sheep that just wanted the hardware. Another example is the 360 and PS3. Of course many non cows and non lemmings bought those machines at launch as well in addition to the cows and sheep. The PS3 in 2006 offered a huge, tremendous value at that time for example in the Blu-Ray player for those that had HDTV's even last generation like myself. The 2005 360 I bought a year before was $400 + accessories that cost me over a grand to buy everything I needed that launch day ($100 Wifi, Play and charge, XBL renewels, etc).

I also have expensive cars, high quality Speaker equipment, HDTVs, refrigerators, homes, ATVs, computers, GPUs, clothes, bikes, shoes, watches, ties, sunglasses, books, scuba gear, and AVRs that I spent a lot of money on.

The other day I bought a T-shirt for $123. It was just a T-shirt, it was pretty awesome one imo, but you can't label someone in a SW faction because they have money.

Lol yeah I've noticed his posting styIe before, but at least I got it out there :P Vita actually has some pretty good games coming out for it this holiday, but it all gets overshadowed by the sales :P

I swear if Sony had included a memory card with each Vita sold with smaller price tags on them the Vita would be fairing sooooo much better than it is now. Perhaps these bundles they're doing may help drive up sales a bit since a price drop is currently out of the question. that's true. The memory card is really expensive and you need it for mostly everything the Vita has to offer and that without mentioning that you have to buy a game too so you end up with a handheld that costs more than $300 and the thing is that kids and casuals are the ones that tend to buy these kind of devices so being expensive is a huge disadvantage.

Sooner or later the Vita will be fully hacked anyway so at the end the proprietary memory cards were a crazy stupid decision.

That's exactly what I got the Vita for though :P I'm in college and soon I'm going to be in an internship that has me running around a lot, I don't have time to sit in front of my TV for hours to play games. Being able to play a full fledged game on the go that I can put on standby at any time is a godsend. Not to mention the new LKS is an entirely new game and isn't on consoles, LBP is a different game than the console counterparts, Assassins Creed is an entirely different game than III, others are pretty much console ports though which is fine, thats what I want the handheld for :P When I'm at home and do manage to have time I have Witcher 2, Minecraft, Crysis, and soon Halo 4 to occupy my time, so it compliments my gaming habits well.

For the hardware it is actually a pretty good price.

I'm personally waiting for more potentially great RPGs like Soul Sacrifice to release before I purchase one.

They also Boo'd when they found out 3G model was going to be carried by AT&T.

also keep in mind that the 3DS was still $250 when Vita's Price was announced.

Or Sony could have been smart and included built-in storage in the VITA. It blows my mind why they made such a powerful system yet failed to include any storage at all. Oh wait, so they could charge extra for stupid overpriced memory cards.

Its simple really. The 3DS is cheaper and has better games so far dont forget the mem card issue and games with high prices. Thats why attitudes changed.

Well first off, EVERYTHING is hated on in SW by certain fanboys. Vita will be hated on because its Sony, thus hardcore lems, hermits and sheep will despise it simply for being a Sony product, and likewise this is why games like Halo get crap and titles like Mario get insulted by overly defensive fanboys trying to justify their lack of a Nintendo or whatever stupid reason.

Second, people don't hate on the price too much, they just think that going up against Nintendo's 3DS without even considering a price drop isn't the best. The 3DS was bombing when it came out until they gave it a price drop and some games, the Vita likewise could use at least one or the other, but right now its a bit sparse in the games department and is still the same price, plus the cost of a memory card.

I plan on getting one myself since I have a huge backlog of PSP titles I never finished and don't have a PSP right now, so I'd love to play them in between Vita title releases.

That is true, currently in the UK the 3DSXL + a game is £180 for one of the best deals, the Vita is £170 with LBP + 4gb memory for the best deal.

The 3DS is around £120-130 (£160 for XL) standalone, so the Vita isn't too badly priced, just lacking games.
