You like be advertised to. Cool story, TC. Obviously, most people don't. santoron
TC said he was young, it's just the way it is for him and the younger generation, they just accpet it because "that's just the way it is" they don't know better.

Yep, it is. I'm not saying I agree with XBL use of ads, But a lot of things you have to pay for and sit through ads. I think its a weak argument. Oh, and.[QUOTE="parkurtommo"] Even then, the XBL argument is beat to death.clone01PSN is free, and yet it has no adds.
You can turn those off...other than the little scrolling text on the top of the XMB which only mentions games, I haven't seen an ad on my XMB for anything in 2 years...

Yes I do believe that is true. It's like someone being raised by headhunters becoming a headhunter as well. We like to think 'oh this bad thing won't last long' but in the meantime people are born in these systems. People who understand certain values disappear. I understand the difference between payment plans and saving, but I can foresee the next generations not even knowing why saving would be preferable.I think it is as much the principle as it is the fact they are there.BibiMaghoo
This, however they are not intrusive...I F***ing hate annoying ads like the ones on websites that load down the page and you scroll down to read past...Then you have to scroll up after they minimize again, or Youtube ads (Both the video and ones that show up at the bottom of the video)...Ad Block is a wonderful extension! Or TV commercials (Mostly just bad ones).
But yeah, they're not intrusive, some of them are dumb like ads for automobiles, but some are game-related anyways.
When you spent some money to become a Gold member, and adverts are still appearing. It shouldn't be like that.
Silver members like me should see the adverts, but not Gold.
It's funny really because there's not a single advert on PS3. It's clean.
You're paying for XBL just to get ads. It's hilarious what Microsoft gets away with. Toxic-SeahorseWhile I don't appreciate ads on XBL people who've never used the service seem to overrate the issue. It's literally a tiny square in the corner of your screen that is clearly marked as an ad and is easily ignored. XBL is worth it just for the party chat and access to your real life friends especially if you live in the United States, as most of us here have 360s.
Exactly because everyone else gets cable for free. OH WAIT. What the f kind of a pointless comparison is that? Cable has never been free. Online gaming has ALWAYS been free. It's free everywhere else AND ad free. Lems have the worst arguments. The argument is moot and long dead. I pay for cable TV and the commercials are much more intrusive

I'm paying for what should be an excluive service, I dont need garbage on my dash woth my quick play and on-disc option pressed into a small corner. There taking gold money and ad revenue. Nothing but profit for them. Keep all relevant ads on their relevant pages (movies on th emovies, games on the games one) keep my home tab crap free.
[QUOTE="Fossil-"]Ads are generally reserved for free services to cover costs (like running this website) or are only applicable to non-paying members of said service, while paying customers enjoy the luxury of an ad-free experience. XBL charges you for a service that is available elsewhere for no cost, and still has ads. So yes, people have a right to complain.IcyFlamez96Still not a big deal but whuteva.
The fact of whether or not it is a big deal is pointless. The fact is you're paying for a service that should be free in the first place ANDyou're complacent enough to allow M$ to put tons of adds up anyway.

thats moronic. It shouldn't be free in the first place thats not a fact nor even a well thought out opinion. I dislike xbox live as it is right now with ads on a paid service but if they got rid of the ad's tomorrow I would be happy because thats the one thing I dislike. People that say something should be one way with no real reason as to why except but but but but others do it are simply stupid in the end.[QUOTE="parkurtommo"][QUOTE="clone01"]

The funny part is when I turn on my PS3 the first thing they show is ads on the right side but the sony fanboys try and pretend that does not happen.CanYouDiglt
go to the settings menu...turn it off.....then don't ever post something like this again.....your issue has been resolved....if u do bring this up again, your agenda will be quite clear.

In the what's new section, which can be turned off, I don't see any ads on my XMB...and if you keep what's new on then the only ads you ever see are game, movie, or music related, not ads for pizza, cars or klondike bars...
[QUOTE="DraugenCP"][QUOTE="IcyFlamez96"]Ive been playing my XBox a lot lately and I always kind of liked the ads.IcyFlamez96
People *liking* ads. Oh, the huge manatee.
Manatee? Anyway, I never have a problem with ads as long as they dont get in the way. Some ads are interesting. Keeps me up with DLC and games and that kind of stuff coming out. You hate them? Your problem, its not a problem for me.Manatee? Anyway, I never have a problem with ads as long as they dont get in the way. Some ads are interesting. i know why ppl hate them
To be not big deal because they are in the very right corner. OFF to the side. NOW if they was in the middle section we have issue.
This is probably why you don't get it. The only way my friends or I even game nowadays is if we are talking to each other. If there isn't anyone to talk to we usually don't play. It doesn't matter if we're all playing single player games, we enjoy talking to each other. Even when we game on PC we have to be skyping or something, and skypeing's even better because we can talk to non-gamers as well. I agree that PS3 is mostly for the older crowd, but that has no corrolation with not wanting to talk with your friends.and i don't get how people seem to obsess over Live's chat. i talk to my friends over the phone or in person, and they don't play video games that much. PS3 is indeed for the older crowd, not some 12-year-olds who, after school, go to play CoD with their playmates from the school bus.

The party chat is easy to start. The problem is we'll sit and wait for others to go online and eventually nobody bothers to go on.[QUOTE="rumbalumba"]
