GTA not being on Wii will not hurt it whatsoever Nintendo is trying to be different than Sony and Microsoft which is why the Manhunt game still confuses me. The thing that will hurt Nintendo is this game drought they have been in since launch! I know I have already got bored of bowling thus it collects dust now!KhansoulDrought ends tommorow

The average GT game sells around 10 Million Copies.
So does the average FF game.
The first MGS game to come out each gen sells about 7 million.Â
and all of those sell very well in japan
And I didn't just list ps3 games. You obviously didn't read my post, and just responded based on my avatar and sig.

The PS3 is not in need of saving it has done better in the same time frame than either of the other two systems. The Sony doom and gloom talk only makes people sound ignorant and insecure. Sony will fail is as likely as Nintendo becoming a third party developer this gen.

GT3 came out early in ps2s lifecycle.
when it had only sold around 20 Million. :|
so did FFX.
FFXIII and GT5 will come out next year and ps3 will have sold around that much.Â

Then why didn't the GC win?Â
GC didn't win because to many people said the system didn't look right, the it came 1 year late from the ps2 and the GC didn't have online titles ethier that was why the GC didn't win. The wii will do better then the Gamecube because the wii will have online and very best. do not go and tell me that why I defend the online. because you know that online is the key to success. The ps3 will only sale when the price goes down. even though you here that the ps3 will be big in september with the titles but with the price tag I don't see it. Halo 3 Just sold out of pre-orders and when Super Smash Bros. Brawl starts to take pre-orders it will do the same and very best, it will have online. its all about the wii this year and next year. the ps3 will do great in 2009 and up because that is when the price goes down and there is better games coming. but GTA will not help the ps3 sale because it is coming on the x360 at the same time the price is what will help the ps3 sale.so its likely in decline)axt113

Don't generalize then, fact is those games are just not as popular as they once were, and they are going to a much less popular system with a high price tag and slower sales, they won't save the PS3 or hurt the Wii, its like Monster Hunter on the PSP, didn't save the PSP or kill the DS[QUOTE="Trading_Zoner"][QUOTE="axt113"][QUOTE="Trading_Zoner"][QUOTE="axt113"]so its likely in decline)axt113

The FACT is that those games I mentioned are system sellers. they are HUGE HUGE franchises, no matter how you look at it. And if Wii is going to be competing with the kind of people who buy those games it will be affected.
BUT if nintendo is succesful with thier blue ocean strategy, then it won't even matter at all.Â
People in this thread need to stop acting like GTA is the holy grail of gaming, and that it can do away with an entire system. And whose to say that the Wii want get its own spinoff of GTA. Last generation you had GTA III, but then you also had San Andreas, and Vice City. So if you look at it, the PS3/360 will get GTA IV, but the Wii could get a completely new spinoff, or it might not. Nobody knows but the people who should know, so people in this forum need to stop acting like everything is set in stone. peaceful_anger
Well GTA is one of the most powerfull franchises if not THE most powerful franchise when it comes to current console games. It will affect this gen. no matter what.

The 360 will continue to have huge hits of its own, plus it's a cheaper option. Not that I'm saying which will sell more, but it is a big factor.
Yeah, 360 will do great too. I expect both MS/Nintendo to do better than they did last gen and while I'm sure Sony will lose some market share, I don't expect it will be a massive amount.
I agree.
This gen. will be much more evened out. which is good for everyone.

 I think it's funny people who never play sports games actually believe that Madden is best on Wii  well lets see what version they play at Madden bowl that should settle it  hint: wont be played with a TV remote
IGN says the same thing, you know their career is to review games, i'm sure they have played some sports games in their lifetime.
I own all three systems and my buddies laughed Madden out of the Wii we rented it to try it. I am partial to my PS3 for sports I still like the PS2 controller feel better as does every single person I know. The Wii Madden may be good for someone who is terrible at sports games or has never played one but to veterans it was simply a gimmick.
No the veteran Madden gamers don't think its a gimmick they just refuse to change the way they play. This is a game we've been playing for over the last decade and changing the way we play would be a set back to anyones game. Then you would have to factor in timings with arm movements rather then button presses and it would be hard to stay consistant. Also the Madden Challenge isn't on the Wii so there is no need to even bother with it. Its not that the Madden for Wii is bad its actually good. Its just that football fans are like they say, "Creatures of habit" and we refuse to change.Â

no, it's always the first game that comes out that sells the most.
MGS2 was the system seller. it was the first MGS game on PS2 and if people wanted MGS2 they had to get a ps2.
GT3 was the system seller becuase GT fans wanted thier next gen fix, so they had to get a ps2. now MGS3 and GT4 didn't sell as well because they were the second games to come out on ps2 in thier respective franchises.
that doesn't mean people are losing interest in those games.....
because Halo hadn't fully caught on as a franchise until people realized halo was an awesome franchise, after they played the first one.
also, halo 2 was an online title and that made it more appealing to more people....
and I was speaking in generalities anyways....
you would love for that to be true wouldn't you?
The FACT is that those games I mentioned are system sellers. they are HUGE HUGE franchises, no matter how you look at it. And if Wii is going to be competing with the kind of people who buy those games it will be affected.
BUT if nintendo is succesful with thier blue ocean strategy, then it won't even matter at all.
GT and FF are big enough in japan...
and sony has plenty of other games for that market as well.
Don't rely on DSes success too much.
People expect different things from handhelds than they do consoles.Â

Are you sure? Or are you just looking at it from your point of view? Remember like DS, Wii is going after a much larger market than just people like you, and at the moment seems to be succeeding very well

I am allowed to have my opinion right?
That's all we can use in our discussions about what will happen in the future anyways.
And IMO Wii might just not be succesful at thier blue ocean strategy like DS is.
If they are then I personally will be happy for them and you. :)
[QUOTE="peaceful_anger"]People in this thread need to stop acting like GTA is the holy grail of gaming, and that it can do away with an entire system. Trading_Zoner
Well GTA is one of the most powerfull franchises if not THE most powerful franchise when it comes to current console games. It will affect this gen. no matter what.
I will agree with you that GTA is one of the most powerful franchises, but I don't think it will determine the winner of this genertion. The main reason why I don't think GTA IV will hurt the Wii is because it is multiplat from the get go this generation. If you look back, past GTAs have each sold around 16 million (I think that number is right. Correct me if I'm wrong), but people on here make it sound like 16 million will be sold on the PS3 and another 16 million on the 360 which most likely will not happen. Say if half of that 16 million fanbase bought a PS3 and the other half bought a 360, that is 8 million a piece. While that is a nice number, it still wouldn't put away the Wii, but of course it helps. But don't you think some of the 10 million 360 owners and 3 million PS3 owners bought their systems for GTA IV already?[QUOTE="Trading_Zoner"][QUOTE="peaceful_anger"]People in this thread need to stop acting like GTA is the holy grail of gaming, and that it can do away with an entire system. And yes, GTA IV is now multiplat. But is it on Wii? No. No it's not.Â
