quite the opposite.
You would argue the validity of Kinect as a primary controller? I would love to check out the completely Kinect driven game that works well and isn't glorified Simon says (dance games).[QUOTE="CaseyWegner"][QUOTE="Shewgenja"]

Oh, you're so right. I forgot that MLG is mandating Kinect games in tournaments now.. :P[QUOTE="Alienware_fan"]Not sure, as I've seen FAT people play Kinect. Most gamers who hate on connect are HARDCORE GAMERS. That's pretty much a fact. Kinect is more for casual gamers obviously and there are only a few of them on these forums. there's no such thing as a hardcore gamer. there's gamers and casuals.FAT. Do I have a point?

Tell me when the Kinect has a method of moving forward that isn't on rails or is completely stupid (running in place or positioning your legs weirdly), and then we'll talk about it being legitimate "innovation" Stuff like oculus rift are miles more promising.Kinect and its follow-up have no way whatsoever to control your movement well in games, it's as true now as it was years ago when I pointed it out and I've yet to see anyone or anything prove me wrong on that point. The games sure haven't.
>Calls other people lazy bastards. >Can't be bothered to hit the 'shift', 'y' and 'o' keys.i agree with u to a certain extent because there's a lot of lazy ass bastards on here. with that said, kinect 1 sucked. kinect 2 has peeked my interest but that could really go either way.

I don't hate kinect. for party games and other such games it could potentially work, and really there's nothing wrong with that. There is an audience for it afterall.
But for other kinds of games that I care about? I just don't see how it could really work in any meaningful way, and Microsoft certainly hasn't help make me any more confident about the technology. Atleast with something like the Wii-mote buttons are still easiily accessible, so theoretically you could have motion control for some things and still have button controls for others, but with kinect the whole point is "using the body as a controller" which really limits the possibilities.

Or they could be people who dislike motion controls because based on real evidence and history they never worked properly?

How can you be sure?
I put it to you that lean people are the ones who hate Kinect, and fat people embrace it like a priest embraces a small boy.Â
After all, what need does a lean person have for Kinect? Their behaviours might already include exercise therefore they are lean.Â
Whereas fatter individuals may be looking for novel methods of increasing their daily physical activity. Kinect actually gets around many of the potential barriers to exercise eg: Not having a person to train with, not having the 'right equipment', being too embarrassed to train in a gym or run on the streets, maybe the streets aren't safe for running, maybe the person just has no idea what to actually do to increase their physical fitness - there are many barriers to exercise.Â
Â
But all in all this has been an excellent thread TC. Threads which combine exercise, and/or nutrition with video gaming are most fascinating to me. I don't care if you were trolling or not, I had a blast in here - 10/10.Â

No, i'm sure most people would rather kick a real football, or play actual tennis instead of pretending to and look like an idiot.

 I agree, they are most likely obese and just plain lazy.
I mean get up and shake a leg guys! and your arms, those plump sausage link arms.
Xbone is all about getting that exercise routine going, c'mon it's not hard and you'll feel much healthier I promise

the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
But a single step outside of the square foot of Kinect's viewing area screws everything up :? Innovation should sell itself day one. The Wiimote for example, the hype train before launch was all about the cool implementation it could have, such as it's use on FPS, sports like Tennis and Bowling and swordplay. Most of those worked relatively well at some point during the systems lifespan, games like Wii Sports, Red Steel and Excitetruck showing it off at launch. Kinect has been out for several years and struggles to get beyond the dance game.kinect is great at parties and women love playing it.
Â
so people that hate kinect probably hate partying and chicks, but maybe thats what folks meant when they said hardcore gamers.

I've really tried to think of a good way to control movements without that, but barring some sort of magical multi-directional treadmill that rotates in sync with your movements and with adequate friction to prevent you from falling flat on your face or an expensive and large harness system with additional sensors to hold you above the floor I can't think of any accurate way to control movement without a controller.
For any controller to work well without compromising your range of motion it would have to be split with both halves having inputs to allow for things like strafing and at that point why don't you just add more buttons and call it an improved take on the Wiimote and Nunchuk?
