Well my good sir, There's things called Exclusive and also a thing called "I don't have a good PC so I will just get the console version of a game."

I got an Xbox 360 because I want to play games like Left 4 Dead, Alan Wake, Gears of War, and Halo. I can't do that on the PS3 so I guess I have no choice, Now for games like Mario, Zelda, and Metroid I have to go to the Wii for that because quite frankly...I don't think those are on the 360 or PS3 as well.

and for the PS3 my good sir How was I ever going to finish the Metal Gear Saga? and thanks to the Uncharted 2 Beta I came into contact with one of the best games I've ever played, not found on an Xbox 360 or Wii.

So there you have it. That's why 3 consoles, not because of Multiplats, but because of Exclusives.

except for the 360 cause I wanted some multiplats on that console because I don't have a good PC.

while i feel that owning a 360 and a PS3 is overkill, it makes complete sense to own a wii + another system, as there are literally tons of exclusives.

Owning more than one system doesn't mean you buy every single game available for each platform. If I only buy half a dozen for each but pick up 20 if I only had a PS3, I'd be behind in time if I only had a single one.

And I get more variety with multiple systems.

Really, why wouldn't someone have more than one, unless their disposable income is nonexistent?

I've got a decent gaming PC, a 360, PS3, Wii, DSi, PSP, and iPod Touch - I can't imagine missing out on the great exclusives for ANY of those platforms.

I used to have all of this gens consoles, a gaming PC, a dreamcast, saturn, PS1, ect. but i slowly got rid of all the consoles since backwards compatibility and DLC of past games started to come out. i regret getting rid of my wii because it is basically nintendos history in a box minus a few games that havent been released yet. i also sold my game rig because i never played it and needed a laptop for work. now i have a 360 and PS3 and both systems have went more than a month without getting touched at some point. i agree. one console is all you need to game.

Maybe I like to experience something different every once and a while? Gaming is my hobby. I'd be doing myself a disservice if I only had one system.

I hear what you're saying TC. I play my 360 about 8 hours a week. My PS3 is used solely as a media player for BluRay and Tversity. The last time I played a PS3 game was a GOW3 about 3 (?) months ago, then UC2 about 5 months before that. Oh wait, I did play a couple of hours of flower recently. It's a neat game. If PSN had demos for all of their arcade games I would have purchased the game sooner...

I love all three, but I find no use in having a 360.

Money isn't that big of a factor, so the way I see it is more systems = more games = more fun. I may not have that much time at home to game, but I still manage to get some good use of of my systems.

Wow, lots of epeen stroking in this thread.

For variety, I suppose. But one gaming system should be more than sufficient for even for a gamer who consider himself "hardcore", I really doubt that people in SW play as many games as they claim.

The better question is why not have all the systems? Then you get exclusives for each system and there is no reason to be a fanboy

I am glad I dont jsut have a ps3 and thats it.... dont knwo what I would do without my PC...

Glad i own ps3, 360, DS and PC this gen :D

A little over $1000 will get you every system and a competent gaming PC. That's not a lot of money to spend on a hobby. Though you're probably half right, a significant portion of System Wars consists of people who play nothing but Call of Duty/Halo/Uncharted 2.

It is habit for me my dad started buying all those consoles back in the early "80s" inteelisvision, coleco vision, atari 2600 etc etc.. As i aged i started buying consoles... many failed lol. But its habit for me.. plus why limit yourself? If you have no funds fine stick with one console. I do have everything currently except the DS. Sometimes its honestly overbearing.. one system will collect dust.. my wii did lol.

I got a new 360 about 2 weeks ago, then I got a new 25" monitor a week later. After seeing how awesome everything on my PC looks now I feel that I wasted my money on the 360, because on my Gaming Rig games look so much better.

And no, I don't have alot of money. I'm actually pretty broke, I just kind of got lucky:D

A matter of perspective. To some people a thousand dollars is a lot, depending on their age and financial situation. It's no chump change in any case.

I agree it's pointless to own all systems and justify it with "Well i do like exclusives" but then again i do own all three so cannot deny that... Although i barely touch my xbox and i just don't touch my wii... PS3 i use mostly because i prefer the feel of the xmb to the xbox's rip off version of their own xmb...

I own all 3, don't regret it, I like my Xbox 360 best and have the most games for it this current gen, even though the PS3 takes a back seat I probably own more exclusives than most Sony fanboys, including countless PS2 games

Some people like to collect consoles and some just like to buy them for the exclusives and a few other reasons. Me myself? You get the best of both worlds like exclusives (I don't just get a console for it's exclusives though), a developer may havean add on that maybe for only one consoleand a few other things. There are some good things about owning a few multiple consoles and there are some bad things (pros/cons). The only consoles I use is my PS3, 360, psp, and DS (when it comes to handhelds, I use my PSP mostly). I'll sometimes get on my wii but I rarely do. It collects dust.

But I sometimes think about getting rid of my 360 though or when it catches the RROD, would I just leave it dead and save my money. The 360 is the most expensive out of all the consoles. Having a few consoles like the 360/ps3 combination gives you the best of both worlds. Same with DS/PSP. I wouldn't exactly say it's pointless. Maybe to a certain point but it's very expensive. I sometimes wish I never had gotten some of them. One moment I say I have too many consoles and then another time I'm like nah it's cool, they're collectible. I do own too many.

I own the 360 and PS3, it does give me the ability to pick which version of the game I wish to play (on multi-platforms) but also means I am not losing out due to exclusives, except Wii which I don't own, and with the 360 and PS3 already living under the telly, it will be difficult for me to prove to the wife why I need yet another console.

I own multiple systems "because I can." Need no reason other than that. Although, I do like having access to the entire library of games without having to make compromises. That part's kinda nice.

I can't really say if it is pointless or not since everyone have different reason and preference for owning multiple consoles and it really isn't my place to judge them. Anyway I only have a gaming PC but that's a result of me not having that much free time anymore.

sucks to be you, i have both 360 and PS3. in fact if a burglar broke in my house and i had to give up one system it would be PS3 with no questions asked. i love my 360, but i also love my blu ray movies. theres room for both. plus theres that whole Multiplats suck on PS3 thing.

I own 3 atm, had 4 at one point but whatever, I'd say 2/4 is enough for me but that's when PC is factored in. PC/PS3 has been my choice so far and it has been great, and I think I'll stick with this setup from now on. I don't think the 360 and Wii were worth it in the long run however without the PC, 360/PS3 would have been good.

You get to enjoy a greater quantity of really high quality games across all types of genres. Each System has plenty of good games but how many Starcraft 2 or Super mario Galaxy 2 Quality games will you enjoy on only one system? and of course you don't get access to best games in all genres with only one system Strategy games are domain of pc and action games you see mainly on the hd twins and the wii has a rather large selection of unique games to play.

they ps3 is my system of choice because of the free online but i keep my wii for zelda mario and smash bros. my 360 for halo fable gears and alan wake and on top of that i like gaming in general if something catches my interest i can go buy play and enjoy instead of being like most of the peeps in system wars bashing games and systems that they don't own or ever played

To play all exclusives, which I believe should be the pinnacle of each respective game libraries, I must own all consoles and a gaming PC. Simple as that. I think all systems' best games are exclusives except for 360 until recently (it's ME2 but could very well be Reach once I open my copy).

PC>360>DS>Wii>PS3>PSP

I don't go for 100% on most games and I prefer to rent games. I like to play games for fun.

I could see owning a Wii in addition to my ps3 if I the Wii didn't hurt my eyes on my 46" TV. It has a lot of games that are unique to the system.

Getting a 360 makes little sense, which I found out when I bought one, as most of the games are shared between the two. At least the other way around you could say, "well, it's a blu-ray player too, so why not?"

Still, I bought a 360 and a Wii while in Iraq due to needing as much to do as possible with my time as a contractor, and sold the Wii and 360 later.

Now that I'm done with Reach I could technically have PS3 and PC and be fine.

Only thing that really holds me to the 360 now is all my GH/RB stuff is on it.

I secertely believe the following:

Because all SW users are incredibly fragile emotionally and SW ownage makes them angry (like a wolf), so they must have them all to avoid feeling inferior.
